Ever since the arrival of Roma, I started seeing him everywhere.
When I say everywhere, I mean everywhere. But there was a pattern to it. When I was alone—maybe going to a tutoring session or just running errands—he wasn't there. But the moment I had to meet up with Kastiel, or do something with Kastiel, or anything that involved Kastiel, he was there.
At his office, Roma was there, sitting in the chair across from Kastiel's desk, papers spread out between them, his head bent close to Kastiel's as they discussed something important. When Kastiel went for an inspection of the eastern development, Roma was there, walking beside him, pointing at things, explaining things. Even on phone calls, I could hear him in the background—his voice bright and eager, always offering suggestions, always making himself useful.
