"Does Kastiel know?" Phoenix asked, pulling back slightly, his eyes still red and puffy from crying.
I nodded. "I told him. A few days ago."
"And?" Jamie asked, leaning forward.
"And he listened." I thought about that night, about the way Kastiel had held me, the way his hands had shaken, the way he had looked at me like I was something precious. "He didn't push. He didn't ask for more than I was ready to give. He just... listened."
Soren smiled, but it was the kind of smile that meant he was waiting for more. "And?"
"When I was done talking, he said let's go to bed. So we did." I shrugged. "We went to bed, and then we woke up the next day and just went on with life."
Phoenix's eyebrows shot up. "That's all?"
"That's all," I said. "It's crazy even to me. He just went on like I hadn't been crying my heart out the night before."
Jamie's face scrunched up in confusion. "I do not know how to react to this."
"It sounds so much like what he would do," Soren said thoughtfully.
