Chapter 98 - Chapter 97: Departure

"Knights of the Round Table? Is it in the same form as the Knights of the Round Table in the King Arthur stories you told us when we were little? Interesting!" Joffrey laughed.

"Then, Mufasa, do you have any recommendations?" he continued to ask.

"While keeping the original seven Kingsguard unchanged, I propose that Kevan Lannister, Loras Tyrell, Robar Royce, Brynden Tully, and Victarion Greyjoy be added."

The five men Mufasa mentioned were all younger brothers or second sons of the great lords.

"I agree with your proposal. If no one else has any objections, it's settled! Lord Varys, please notify these men and have them move into the The White Sword Tower quickly," Joffrey said.

Joffrey had previously had several ribs kicked and broken by the Nine-Colored Deer; he was only forcing himself to attend the meeting now, but as time passed, cold sweat appeared on his face.

While he still had some strength left, Joffrey quickly ended the meeting.

Eddard Stark was not held in the dungeons; to be precise, he was imprisoned or under house arrest, taken to the The White Sword Tower to be held.

This could be said to be the place where one would least expect Eddard Stark to be mistreated; even the other northern lords felt it was an honor for Eddard Stark to stay in the The White Sword Tower.

After the meeting ended, Mufasa went to The Red Keep to see Joffrey, who was lying in bed while a Maester examined his ribs.

"Your Majesty, you must still take great care!"

"I know, you may leave!" Joffrey waved him away.

Only Mufasa and Joffrey remained in the room.

"Xiao Qiao, are you alright? Actually, you should have appointed Lord Tywin as Hand of the King; after all, he is our grandfather on both sides."

"He is a man of the Aerys era; I need new strength. Mufasa, you are the person I trust most. Tell me, was it Eddard Stark who killed my father?" Joffrey asked.

"It was definitely not him. Eddard Stark's character is such that everyone in the Seven Kingdoms can trust him. Perhaps it was an accident, or perhaps murder! There might still be Targaryen Family loyalists lingering in King's Landing."

He couldn't be certain whether it was Cersei who acted in the shadows or Baelish.

Mufasa's Dreamwalker ability hadn't revealed who had bribed that thug to kill Robert. He had only seen the thug's appearance: dark-skinned, from Sothoryos.

Mufasa even knew his identity: Jalabhar Xho, the exiled prince from Sothoryos.

The reason Mufasa called him a thug was that Cersei often said he was just a beggar in noble's clothing.

Now this prince of Sothoryos had also vanished; although the entire city was searching for him, his whereabouts remained unknown.

Mufasa felt that given Cersei's attitude toward him, she likely wouldn't have bribed him to kill Robert.

After all, Cersei disliked him; that was something everyone knew.

"In that case, we can only hope to find the exiled prince of Sothoryos," Joffrey said.

Mufasa told him to rest well and left. Upon returning to his room, he planned to try his luck to see if he could win another black jade balm from the lottery to treat Joffrey.

Mufasa's popularity points had now reached two thousand because he had manifested his divinity before the people.

Although the big dipper on his chest was not the Seven-Pointed Star preached by the Faith of the Seven, they still considered Mufasa one of their own.

However, since Mufasa began to suspect that the Faith of the Seven was essentially a Cthulhu cult, he had consciously distanced himself from them.

"Start the lottery!"

Mufasa began the lottery; after twenty draws, Mufasa obtained three thousand Flying Bear Army soldiers, and nothing else.

At this moment, three thousand heavy cavalry were summoned to King's Landing. Each of them rode a large, sturdy warhorse, wore black heavy armor, and held a long spear.

The banner of these three thousand men was the unique Flying Bear Banner. What did the Flying Bear Banner look like? It wasn't a flying bear, but a winged white tiger.

Once Mufasa knew the three thousand had arrived, he immediately rode the Charcoal Fire Dragon Colt to the outskirts of the city. He was delighted to see them.

"Who is your general?" Mufasa asked.

"It is I!" A tall man, nearly as tall as The Mountain, stepped forward and said.

Mufasa was stunned upon seeing his appearance, feeling as though he had seen him somewhere before.

Then Mufasa took out the halberd, Beast-Faced Heaven-Swallowing Armor, and Purple Gold Crown with Hairband he had won from previous lotteries and put them on him. Instantly, the man's identity became clear.

"What is your name?" Mufasa asked.

"My Lord, this humble one is named Lü Bu, general of the Flying Bear Army. We follow your orders and will serve you to the death," Lü Bu said.

"So it's like that! You are Lü Bu, excellent! General Lü Bu, I wonder if everyone else besides you is just a soldier? Do you have any lieutenants?" Mufasa asked.

"There are two! Zhang Liao and Gao Shun. You two, come out."

As soon as Lü Bu finished speaking, two generals stepped forward.

Mufasa first looked at Zhang Liao, then focused his gaze on Gao Shun. If he remembered correctly, Gao Shun was the commander of the Camp Breaker Battalion.

"General Gao Shun, do you still remember the Camp Breaker Battalion?" Mufasa asked.

"Camp Breaker Battalion? What is that?" A look of confusion appeared on Gao Shun's face.

"It seems their memories have been modified. I don't have to worry about being backstabbed by Lü Bu!" Mufasa thought.

"General Gao Shun, from now on you are detached from the Flying Bear Army. I plan for you to build another army, named the Camp Breaker Battalion."

Mufasa took out the Camp Breaker Battalion Training Method he had obtained previously and gave it to Gao Shun.

Gao Shun's eyes immediately lit up after reading it.

"What an exquisite training method. It seems that if it can be fully realized, its strength might be even more terrifying than the Flying Bear Army," Gao Shun said.

Mufasa ordered Lü Bu and Zhang Liao to station outside the city and not disturb the people; provisions would be sent to them regularly.

Gao Shun, however, entered King's Landing with Mufasa. Mufasa needed him to help train his troops.

Another month passed, and soldiers from all over the Seven Kingdoms had arrived outside King's Landing.

The date for the army's departure was set for three days later.

At the war council, Mufasa was appointed as the vanguard commander, and Mace Tyrell was put in charge of provisions.

The navy was led by Balon.

Their plan was to advance by both sea and land.

The navies of the Iron Islands, Oldtown, and The Arbor would advance Beyond the Wall from the western coast of the continent.

The navies of White Harbor, Gulltown, and King's Landing/Stormlands would advance Beyond the Wall along the Narrow Sea.

Mufasa would lead the land army along the Kingsroad.

The three armies advanced in parallel.

On the day of departure, Joffrey personally came to see Mufasa off.

"Brother! I've added something to this cup of wine for you!"

Joffrey pinched a bit of soil from the ground outside King's Landing and put it into the wine cup. Then he said to Mufasa.

"I hope you return victorious soon, brother, and do not forget your home," Joffrey said.

Mufasa downed the wine in one gulp and said.

"Rest assured, Your Majesty. Going Beyond the Wall, I swear not to return home until the White Walkers are defeated."
