Chapter 80 - Chapter 79: The Old Man of South Mountain

After Margaery returned to the House Tyrell's residence, she immediately threw herself onto the bed and covered her head with the quilt.

"I hope readers will remember our domain Taiwan Novels dot com for entertainment, you can read anytime."

Faint, intermittent sounds came from under the quilt; they were not cries, but laughter.

"Hehehe! Mufasa, you're really interesting, asking me to farm?"

Margaery suddenly wondered if Mufasa had fallen for her!

She was so beautiful, it would be hard for him not to like her!

Perhaps his request for her to farm was some kind of romantic talk, like "I weave and you plow, you fetch water and I tend the garden."

The more Margaery thought, the more she imagined, until she suddenly banged her head hard against a pillar several times, the pain almost bringing tears to her eyes.

"Whoosh!"

Margaery took a deep breath, finally regaining her composure, and when she opened her eyes again, they had returned to their usual wisdom and cunning.

"This Grand Council concerns the survival and safety of the entire Westeros continent. No family can stand idly by; the family that obtains more information will survive longer."

"Moreover, many major events might occur this time. Dynastic changes are possible, and how Highgarden takes a side becomes a problem."

Margaery thought to herself.

"Margaery!" Ser Loras's voice came from outside the room.

"What's wrong, brother!" She turned and smiled.

"I heard you ran back from outside disheveled. Did something happen?" Loras asked.

"Nothing at all, no need to worry, brother. And I even have a trophy!"

Margaery held up the statues of the seven.

"Brother, go prepare in advance! Ser Mufasa might visit us soon!" Margaery said.

"Mufasa, huh! He didn't say he was coming to visit us!" Loras looked puzzled.

"No, if I say he's coming, he's coming!" Margaery said with full confidence.

Although Ser Loras knew his sister was quite intelligent, he felt she was talking nonsense today.

"Alright, I'll go inform Father, Mother, and Grandmother," Loras left.

In The Red Keep, the rumors about Mufasa bullying Margaery further escalated, and Mufasa showed no intention of explaining himself.

However, Myrcella stepped forward to explain for him, which only led to more gossip.

Mufasa felt his popularity continue to increase.

"Perhaps it's easier to become infamous than to become renowned?" Mufasa thought.

At this moment, Bronze Yohn Royce arrived with his two sons to visit Mufasa.

After the host and guests were seated, a servant brought wine.

Yohn Royce stood behind his two sons, who were both Waymar Royce's older brothers.

"Ser Mufasa, I want to know how Waymar Royce died, what killed him?"

"It was—"

Mufasa looked at Bronze Yohn Royce, about to reply, but paused, focusing his attention on his bronze armor, which bore mysterious runes. They were similar to those Mufasa found on the giant bull horn in the Ancestor Giant's cave.

"What's wrong, Ser Mufasa?" Earl Royce asked.

"Is there something mysterious about your lord's armor?" Mufasa asked.

"This set of armor has been passed down through generations in my family. We have many such bronze armors," Yohn Royce said.

"I'd like to ask Yohn Royce for a favor?" Mufasa said.

"What favor?" he asked.

"I have a horn with the same runes carved on it as your bronze armor. Could you help me translate them?" Mufasa asked.

"Of course!"

"Podrick, go get the horn," Mufasa said.

Soon after, Podrick came out carrying a huge horn.

"Such a horn is even longer than an elephant tusk," Robert Royce said.

"Please take a look, my lord Earl," Mufasa said.

Yohn Royce took the horn and examined it carefully.

"These are the runes of the First Men, and their writing. We still have some pure-blooded First Men in the Vale."

"Vale Wildlings?" Mufasa said.

"That's right, the Vale Wildlings still use this writing. Perhaps they can recognize what this means?"

"So you can't understand it, can you, my lord Earl?" Mufasa said.

"Uh, that's what I meant!" Yohn Royce said.

"Alright, well, thanks for the information anyway!" Mufasa said. He had Podrick take the horn away.

"Now, Ser Mufasa, can you tell me who killed Waymar Royce?"

"An Other, a powerful Other!"

"It is said that Waymar Royce fought alone, single-handedly facing several Others. The enemy's ice longsword shattered Waymar Royce's sword, and he ultimately cried out: 'Long live King Robert!' He was a qualified Black Knight." Mufasa said.

"Damn it, I will kill that Other and avenge my son!" Yohn Royce said.

"You cannot kill an Other without a valyrian steel sword. Others are not wights; they are far more terrifying, possess formidable swordsmanship and horsemanship, and can resurrect those they kill as their subordinates," Mufasa said.

The Other who killed Waymar Royce was certainly not the Night King, but he was also a leader among the Others.

"Ser Mufasa, I heard you brought back some items from the Valyrian ruins. I wonder if I could purchase a valyrian steel weapon from you?" Yohn Royce asked.

Facing his request, Mufasa first pondered.

He still had a valyrian steel gate; if melted down, it could perhaps forge many valyrian steel swords.

As for the forging techniques, magic, and fire, Mufasa had all three ready.

The forging techniques came from the teachings of a centenarian at the South Mountain Nursing Home.

That day, after the elders at the South Mountain Nursing Home finished writing the first volume of "Memories of King's Landing," Mufasa went to personally review it.

He promised them it would be published under the name of the Old Man of South Mountain.

Just as he was putting away the manuscript and about to leave, a white-haired old man leaning on a cane called out to Mufasa.

"Ser Mufasa, please wait!"

"What is it, old man?" Mufasa asked.

"That person wearing the bull-horn helmet, Gendry, is Tobho Mott's apprentice, isn't he?" the old man asked.

"How did you know?" Mufasa asked.

"I could tell from his forging craftsmanship, but I didn't expect Tobho not to pass on some of the most profound techniques to him."

"What do you mean? Gendry's forging skills are already good enough! He's still so young; with more experience, he can forge higher-level weapons when he's older," Mufasa said.

"I'm talking about some of the most profound techniques, the forging techniques for valyrian steel weapons."
