Chapter 79 - Chapter 78: Clever Margaery

The wight was personally slain in front of everyone, which gradually calmed the panicked crowd.

King Robert immediately announced, "We shall hold a Great Council, for winter is coming!"

Thus, at the beginning of 299 AC, the Great Council on how to fight the Others Beyond the Wall began.

However, for the council to formally begin, other important absent lords still needed to be invited.

The lords who had already arrived in King's Landing were not allowed to leave King's Landing during this period.

Great Councils had been held a few times on the continent of Westeros, the most famous being the Great Council of 101 AC.

However, the importance of the current Great Council surpassed all previous Great Councils combined.

Because they had all seen the wight with their own eyes.

The Red Keep had been bustling with people recently, many wanting to ask Eddard Stark what was happening Beyond the Wall and if they could survive this summer.

Eddard Stark was so bothered by these questions that his head ached. He told all visitors,

"It was Ser Mufasa, who went to inspect The Wall as the King's special envoy. He personally captured a wight and brought it back. If you want to know more about Beyond the Wall and the wights, you should ask him!"

Eddard Stark cleverly diverted the trouble, finding peace, but Mufasa became annoyed.

After all, he had to perform alchemy every day and also learn Water Dancing Swordplay from Syrio.

Disturbed by visitors, he couldn't learn swordplay or practice alchemy.

"Ser Mufasa! Are there really Others Beyond the Wall? I heard they are even more terrifying than wights, and they can control wights, is that true?"

Margaery Tyrell looked at Mufasa with her bright, deer-like eyes.

This was her third visit to Mufasa; the previous two were with Loras and Garlan.

"Miss Margaery! As a descendant of Garth Greenhand, it seems the most appropriate thing for you to do is go home and farm!" Mufasa said.

"Pfft!"

Joffrey, standing nearby, suddenly spat out the wine he hadn't yet swallowed, drenching Tommen across from him.

"Little Joff, what are you doing?" Tommen asked.

"Sorry, brother, Mufasa just told a noble lady to go farming! That's too funny," Joffrey said.

"Little Joff, don't change the subject, it's your turn to play!" Myrcella said.

"You've already lost nine rounds, this will be the tenth! Your IOUs can cover your whole face!"

They were currently playing playing cards at Mufasa's place, five of them together: Mufasa, Joffrey, Myrcella, Tommen, and Margaery.

"Alright, alright, I can't play! Pass!" Joffrey looked at the cards in his hand. He only had a four and a five left.

Since Joffrey passed, it was Mufasa's turn.

Mufasa looked at the cards in his hand; they were also quite low. He had two sevens left. But if he played them separately, others would surely have higher cards. However, Margaery, who was before Joffrey, played a ten, so Mufasa couldn't play.

"Pass!" Mufasa said.

Tommen played a Queen of Hearts, then he laughed.

"Hahaha, this time I win! Hand over the money!" Tommen stretched out his chubby little hand.

Mufasa, Margaery, and Myrcella each gave him a copper nut.

Joffrey's face was once again covered with a white slip of paper. Angrily, he tore off the ten slips.

"One silver stag! I don't owe you anything anymore! A Lannister always pays his debts!"

After Joffrey finished speaking, he ran off in a flash.

"Can't play, can't play, Joffrey is a big idiot!" Tommen chased after him.

"Alright, we've played for a long time, it's time for a rest," Mufasa yawned, stretching lazily.

Just as he lay down on a lounge chair, Myrcella thoughtfully came over to massage his head.

"Ah! Comfortable. Your skill is getting better and better, Myrcella! Just if your nails were a bit shorter!" Mufasa said with a look of enjoyment.

"Then I'll trim my nails shorter when I go back," she said.

Margaery, who was nearby, put away the playing cards and sat opposite Mufasa.

"Mufasa, you certainly know how to enjoy yourself! Having a princess massage you! Were you Mirror Shield Serwyn in your last life? Defeating evil dragons and saving princesses!" Margaery teased.

"Margaery, don't research the Others; they are terrifying beings. As for wights, they are dead people who have been resurrected."

"I heard that some members of the Hightower Family of Oldtown are also researching necromancy in the Hightower. Isn't your mother from the Hightower Family? Go ask her!"

Mufasa said.

Seeing that she couldn't get anything more out of Mufasa, Margaery decided to leave.

However, before she left, she saw the statues of the seven on the windowsill.

"What is that? Ser Mufasa, statues? Why can't I clearly see which gods they are?"

Margaery walked to the window and picked up the statues of the seven.

The seven faces of the statues were very blurry; even a Septon wouldn't recognize them as the statues of the seven.

"These are terrifying statues, cursed. I brought them back from the Valyrian ruins. Anyone who touches them will be carried away by an evil dragon from overseas when they turn eighteen."

Margaery's mouth twitched.

"Uh, you're trying to fool a child! I won't fall for your trick! But I guess this statue is quite important to you. Since you won't tell me about the situation Beyond the Wall, I'll take this statue."

Margaery smiled faintly, picked up the statues of the seven, and was about to leave.

"Stop!" Mufasa suddenly sat up from the lounge chair. Like a hungry tiger pouncing on its prey, he lunged at Margaery, pinning her to the ground.

The softness from his palm made Mufasa realize he had touched the wrong place, and he saw Margaery's face flush.

Her voice was like a mosquito, "Get up quickly, you're going to crush me! Weirdo! Scoundrel! Big scoundrel!"

Mufasa immediately apologized and then tried to snatch the statue from her hand, but Margaery refused to let go. The two rolled on the ground.

Later, a "hiss" was heard, and a large piece of Margaery's dress was torn off for some unknown reason.

She looked at Mufasa, enraged and humiliated.

"You pervert!"

With that, she kicked towards Mufasa's crotch.

Mufasa grabbed her ankle with his left hand, and Margaery pulled her foot back, but one of her shoes fell off.

"Mufasa, you just wait, we're not done!"

Margaery ran off shyly, and along the way, many maids and servants pointed at her.

"Look, that's Miss Margaery of the House Tyrell, why is she running out of Mufasa's room disheveled!"

"Could something have happened between them?"

"No way, no way! Mufasa looks decent, but he's actually a lecher!"

Mufasa suddenly felt his popularity surge. "Although I don't know if they're praising me or cursing me, it's probably cursing me!" Mufasa said, touching his nose.

"Damn it, she actually took the statue!" Mufasa slapped his forehead, saying with vexation.

"What a clever Margaery!"

Actually, Margaery's dress was torn by herself, it had nothing to do with Mufasa. At that time, both his hands were trying to snatch the statue, Margaery held it tightly with one hand, and with the other, she tore her own dress.

Her action forced Mufasa to stop. Then she kicked Mufasa's third leg, and then took the opportunity to leave one shoe behind.
