Yukiri sat on the chair while Lilith teased her. Yukiri grumbled, her ears flattening in annoyance. "It's not my fault I have a bad memory and can't remember the idiot's name." At that, Lilith teased her even harder, giggling, "Aww, 'nameless boy.' No name, but a whole description of the way he talks."
Just as Lilith dropped the teasing, Yukiri's phone dinged. A notification. Yukiri glanced at it, her mood dropping instantly. It was a bank transfer from her father with the note: "Stop slacking in mathematics debate. Weekly allowance."
Without a word, she left Lilith alone with her chatter.
Lilith called after her, her mana wrapping around Yukiri's arm to stop her, but Yukiri yanked it away.
She walked fast, staring at the floor and not noticing she was about to run into someone. She quickly said, "Sorry," and tried to run in the other direction, but a familiar voice froze her in place.
