Chapter 80 a conversation with Loona
After finishing his conversation with Vaggie and Charlie, Razan opened a portal leading home. As he crossed the dimensional rift and stepped into the living room, the first thing he saw was Loona, completely absorbed in her work at her office desk. He stopped, looked at her for a few moments, and lightly scratched his cheek, feeling thoroughly awkward and unsure of how to bring up the subject.
Loona noticed his presence and, seeing his hesitant posture, took her eyes off her papers. She let out a heavy sigh, showing genuine exhaustion, and crossed her arms.
"So, what kind of mess have you gotten yourself into this time?" she asked in her usual sharp tone. "Every time you don't come in here jumping on me or making a bunch of noise, it means you've gotten into trouble. What did you do to end up looking like that?"
Realizing there was no escaping this, Razan let his shoulders slump, giving up on trying to soften the news. He took a deep breath and explained the whole situation at once: Vaggie and Charlie were pregnant.
Loona's reaction was immediate. She grabbed the first pillow she could find and threw it straight at his face with all her strength.
"You idiot!" she shouted angrily. "Do you think having children is that simple? We're in Hell! You're actually going to have children knowing that? The City of Healing may be peaceful, but this place is still Hell. And you three idiots decide to have children... Look, I could at least expect this from you and Charlie, two happy idiots. But how did Vaggie get caught up in this mess too?"
Razan pulled the pillow away from his face and sighed as he defended himself.
"Well, it just happened. There's nothing we can do about it now. And you know very well that none of us is the kind of person who would do anything to avoid having the baby or even consider an abortion. Whether it's me or Charlie... After all, she's so good and kind even to that bunch of lunatics and psychopaths in Hell, people who have nothing to do with her. Just imagine how she'd be with her own child, a child conceived through a relationship with the people she loves most in the world. And it's the same with Vaggie. No matter how tough she may seem on the outside, she'd never hurt her own child."
Loona sprang out of her chair. Overcome by a wave of frustration, she strode toward him and delivered a solid kick, sending Razan crashing into the wall.
"I KNOW THAT!" she exclaimed, her voice mixing anger with concern. "That's exactly why I'm angry! You idiots are too good for this place. How do you intend to raise children here, in such a dangerous world? Especially with Charlie's naive personality!"
Razan absorbed the impact against the wall, slid down calmly, and walked back toward Loona. Without hesitation, he pulled her into a warm embrace and placed an affectionate kiss on her forehead.
"That's exactly why I need to be able to count on you," he said sincerely. "After all, I'm a complete idiot sometimes, and I have plenty of flaws. So I'm counting on you to help me with the things I'm not good at."
A small, resigned smile appeared on Loona's lips.
"Always the same thing... You make a mess, can't sort it out on your own, and then I have to come and help you. I guess that's my punishment for ever meeting you."
Razan changed his tone, pretending to be dramatically upset.
"So I'm a punishment, huh? How sad... Does that mean my little wolf doesn't love me anymore? I'll have to work really hard to make her fall in love with me all over again."
Loona rolled her eyes, but the smile remained.
"Yeah, yeah. You'll have to work hard. Very hard. Especially since I'm going to want a child of my own in the future too, so you'd better be prepared."
Hearing that, Razan set his jokes aside. His expression grew serious as he carefully considered his words.
"I know you might want a child, but I think it's better for you to wait a little longer. Unlike Vaggie and Charlie, who are centuries old or even older, you've only been alive for a few years. It would be better to wait a while before taking on that responsibility."
Loona listened to his advice and remained silent for a few moments, thinking it over.
"All right, then," she finally agreed. "I'll wait a little longer, and then we'll have our own children too. Now that I think about it, you're right. I still have a lot of things to deal with here in the city, and I don't have enough time to take care of children right now. But when I'm ready, I'll hold you to that promise."
Razan smiled slightly, relieved and happy.
"Yes, you can hold me to it. I promise I'll keep my word. But what about now? Do you want to go to the hotel and see Charlie and Vaggie? They're really happy... Well, in Charlie's case, she's really happy, while Vaggie is really worried."
Loona chuckled, perfectly able to picture the scene.
"I can already imagine it: Charlie glowing with happiness, thinking up all sorts of names for the babies, while Vaggie is a nervous wreck just thinking about having to protect her and the children in the future. Poor Vaggie. She's going to be so stressed out."
Razan laughed along with her and nodded in agreement.
"Well, that's absolutely true. After all, Charlie has that expansive personality. But she won't be alone. I'll be there with them, and I won't let anything bad happen, no matter how difficult things get. Besides, Charlie will definitely keep bringing the worst Hell has to offer into the hotel in an attempt to help them get better... Just thinking about it gives me a headache. But well, one thing at a time."
