Omni POV

A few hours had now passed since Luce and Balcus welcomed their newborn.

Having rested enough, Luce sat on her bed, surrounded by her family—her husband and children—as they all looked at the sleeping baby. The room smelled faintly of dried hay and warm wood smoke, the quiet crackle of a small fire filling the space.

"He's so small!" Jenna was the first to speak, stating the obvious.

"Well, darling, you were smaller than this when you were born," Balcus responded.

"That's not true, I was always this big," she replied, gesturing proudly at her current height.

"Shhhh! He's waking up," Nicks announced.

The whole family leaned in closer.

The baby stirred, his tiny body shifting as his eyes slowly opened. He looked around, confused, unfocused… lost.

Then his gaze landed on Balcus.

The gates of hell were opened and he started crying.

"Wahhh! Wahhh!"

"Wait, wait, wait , is he scared of me?" Balcus asked, shocked and a little heartbroken.

"No, he's just surprised. Just give him a while to get used to you," Luce said gently as she pulled her son closer, rocking him softly in her arms.

"Shhh, don't be scared. Mommy's right here. The big scary man won't get to you."

Her voice, soft and warm, worked like a lullaby. Slowly, the baby calmed, his cries fading as he stared up at her.

Leon's POV

'Mmm… huh… where am I? Is this the hospital?'

Those were the first thoughts that ran through Leon's mind as he woke up.

'Guess the truck didn't kill me then… that's good…'

…Pause.

'But wait… didn't I fall down the stairs?'

'What the fudge is going on?'

Faint murmurs found their way into his ears.

"That's not tr—… I was alw—… this b—…"

'Wait… there are people here?'

"Shhhh! He's waking up."

This time, he heard it clearly.

The first thing he saw was a wooden roof.

Not a hospital ceiling, not even close.

'…Okay. That's new.' he thought.

His head felt like a mess, thoughts overlapping and crashing into each other.

Slowly, he turned his gaze—

—and froze.

'GIANT!.'

A massive figure loomed over him.

Pure instinct took over.

"Wahhh! Wahhh!"

Then—

A voice.

Soft.

Warm.

Right next to him.

"Shhh, don't be scared. Mommy's right here. The big scary man won't get to you."

Leon blinked, tears still clinging to his eyes as he looked up at her.

'…Angel.'

In the background, he faintly heard the giant speak.

"Am I that scary?"

"A little bit, Daddy," a smaller female giant replied.

'Yeah… just a little…' he affermed.

Omni POV

Seeing the baby yawn, Luce gently ushered the others out of the room.

"Now, can you give him some space? My little one is tired."

The door creaked softly as the room emptied, leaving only the quiet glow of firelight and the soft breathing of mother and child.

Leon's POV (1 Month Later)

Leon fou Bartfort here.

It's now been roughly a month since I woke up in this world.

'How do I know it's a different world, you ask?'

Well… it's because of the other person's memories in my head.

Or are they my memories? And these are of another person.

Yeah… it gets confusing.

But somehow, I'm still sane.

So let's just simplify it.

'I am not XXXXX… nor am I YYYYY…'

'I am Leon fou Bartfort.'

If I piece together everything I remember, it comes down to this:

Either—

I'm a soul that's been reincarnated twice… first as XXXXX, who died in a truck accident, then as YYYYY—the main character of that anime I was watching—before ending up here as Leon…

Or—

I was two separate people… whose souls somehow merged into one.

…Yeah.

Not exactly something you can just Google.

'But honestly?'

'Who cares who I was before this.'

The result is the same.

I'm Leon fou Bartfort.

'Oh, mama's back, gotta go.'

"How's my little munchkin?" Luce asked warmly.

I clapped my hands at her baby talk.

'Man, pretending to be a baby is tough.'

'Why am I even doing this again?'

…Right.

'So they don't think I'm some kind of demon.'

I mean, sure, the anime felt pretty vanilla, but I only watched the first episode.

I'm not taking chances.

At times, it feels like this world isn't exactly the same as the one I remember.

Especially when it comes to magic.

Right now—

Mom was holding out her hand.

A faint glow spread across her back, a tattoo lighting up beneath her clothes like embers coming to life. The light traveled down her arm, gathering at her fingertip.

She traced something in the air—a glowing rune.

Then flicked it forward.

The symbol drifted like a spark… before landing on the firewood.

Fwoosh.

The wood ignited instantly.

'…Yeah.'

'That definitely wasn't in episode one.'

'Maybe I just didn't watch enough…'

Leon's POV (2 Years Later)

'I'm bored!'

Now about two years older, Leon wandered aimlessly through the small rooms of the family shed. The wooden floors creaked under his tiny steps, and the scent of hay and ash had long since become his new normal, the boredom on the other hand was still a work in progress.

An hour later, he sighed.

'I knew it… there's nothing here.'

No Comic, no TV, no Phone.

Not a single textbook.

Not even something that basic.

'yeah this world sucks'

'How does a world with flying warships and giant robots not have a single phone?'

Sitting down, he rested his head against his hand.

'How do other reincarnators deal with boredom? because I'm really close to my breaking point'

Right then, the door opened.

Luce walked in, one hand resting on her stomach—now pregnant with her fourth child.

"Come on, Leon… mama is really tired today, so can you please try to settle down?"

Guilt hit him instantly.

Leon lowered his head.

"I'm sorry, mama."

She paused… then sighed.

"I'm sorry too. Mama shouldn't have snapped like that."

She walked over and picked him up.

"Now tell me… what were you doing here?"

"Umm… I was bored, so I was looking for a book to read."

'Not like there's anything else to do…'

"Huh? What about the book I gave you?" she asked, referring to the only book Zola was willing to give them—the one she called a gift for the 'bastards of the family'.

"I already finished it!"

'It wasn't even hard…'

'A book on noble customs… seriously?'

'From reading books by Francis C. Moon and Mark Drela… to this… oh how far I've fallen'

"Ohh, my little genius," Luce smiled warmly. "You're only two and you can already read. Your brother took four years… and let's not even talk about your sister."

Leon puffed out his chest proudly.

"Hahaha… alright," she said. "How about I tell you a bedtime story? Will that help you sleep?"

'Anything is better than nothing.'

"I'd like that."

Leon's POV (Night)

Now tucked into bed, Leon looked up as his mother finished the story and stood to leave.

"Goodnight, mama."

"Goodnight, Leon… and don't worry, I'll try to get a few more books from Zola."

The door closed softly.

Silence.

Leon sat up.

'…That's it!'

'If I can't find books here…'

'I'll just sneak into Zola's house and get them myself.'

'She's barely around anyway.'

"You really aren't a normal child, are you?"

Leon froze.

"…Who's there?"

His eyes darted around the dark room.

"Come out now before I call security."

Even in a rundown shed, they were still nobles.

That threat should mean something.

…Right?

From the shadows—

Something appeared.

Not a person.

A silver spherical object slowly materialized, as if phasing out of thin air. Its surface gleamed faintly in the darkness, smooth and unnatural.

At its center—

A single red eye flickered to life.

Watching him.

Leon's breath caught.

"…Luxion?!"he asked shocked at how something he was supposed to get when he was 14 would appear now when he's barely 2.
