Chapter 715 - Night Beneath the Endless Stars

The beach realm remained peaceful.

Waves shimmered with glowing starlight as they rolled onto the shore, and the sky above stretched infinitely filled with galaxies, drifting lights, and constellations Kael had casually placed there just because Ignisia said the sky looked too empty.

Now it was beautiful.shore.

Not a normal fire

but one Ignisia had made herself.

Crimson flames danced softly, warm but controlled, glowing in the night breeze.

Ignisia stretched slightly.

This might be one of the nicest places you've ever made.

Kael looked around.

You like it?

She nodded.

Yeah.

Then she smirked.

Though obviously it could use more fire.

Kael blinked.

The ocean would evaporate.

Ignisia laughed.

"…Exactly."They sat in silence for a while.

Then Ignisia looked upward.

Do you ever think about how ridiculous your life is?

Kael glanced at her.

"…Explain."

She laughed softly.

"…You rule everything."

"…You create realities casually."

"…You rewrite death."

"…And somehow you're sitting here at a beach campfire with me."

Kael answered simply:

"…I chose to."

Ignisia smiled faintly.

"…Yeah."

"…That's what makes it special."Ignisia slowly laid back in the sand, staring upward.

The stars reflected in her crimson eyes.

"…It's peaceful."

Kael looked up too.

"…Yes."

She patted the sand beside her.

"…Lay down.

Kael paused for half a second.

Then quietly laid beside her.

The two stared upward at the endless sky together.Ignisia's voice grew quieter.

If none of this existed.

If there was no empire, no power, no infinite realities.

She turned slightly toward him.

Would you still be like this?

Kael thought.

Longer than usual.

Then answered honestly.

Probably not.

Ignisia blinked.

Really?

Kael nodded.

"…Because everything I became shaped who I am."

Then after a pause

…But I would still choose you.

Ignisia froze.

Her eyes widened.

Then her entire face turned bright red."…YOU CAN'T JUST SAY THAT SO CALMLY!"

Kael blinked.

Why?

Ignisia covered her face.

"…Because that was unfairly smooth!"

Kael simply looked at her.

Oh.

She laughed into her hands.

You really have no idea what you do to people sometimes. Eventually her laughter faded.

She relaxed beside him again, smiling.

The fire crackled softly nearby.

The waves rolled in gently.

The stars above sparkled endlessly.

Ignisia moved closer until her shoulder touched his.

Let's stay a little longer.

Kael nodded.

Alright.

And so they remained

two beings beyond comprehension,

sitting quietly together beneath a sky made of infinite stars.Even the strongest flames in existence burned brightest during moments of peace.
