The clearing became deathly silent.
Lyria's face lost all color.
Everyone knew Aurora was right. Lyria hadn't attended today's lesson. Several people had noticed her absence.
Aurora folded her arms as she pressed further. "So tell us. How exactly did you burn your fingers during a gathering you never attended?"
The crowd erupted again, this time even louder than before. Some people were finally done with Lyria's continous attempts at shifting the blame on Aurora while trying to hide her own crime.
"I knew she always disliked Aurora, but never imagined she would do something like this!"
"Even if she wanted to slander Aurora, does she really have to put the entire tribe's future at risk? What an absolute cruel female!"
"And look at her constantly trying to play innocent."
"No wonder she's the one nearly shouting her lungs out tonight to frame Aurora as the culprit."
Lyria felt her knees weaken. Cornered from every direction, she desperately searched for another excuse.
