In the end, they settled on buying one item each from five different food trucks and eating it at the least crowded one. Well, at least it was better than a fast-food place. Elliot couldn't help but chuckle, remembering how Eugene was just like this back in the day.
Eugene didn't like getting treated, unless it was a birthday or a celebratory thing. Perhaps because of his father's teaching about pride and whatnot, he only accepted 'free' stuff when he earned it through something like a competition or a challenge.
Since it didn't seem like Eugene was treating it as a real 'date', just letting Elliot pay for the food truck order was already something. The alpha consoled himself with that.
