Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 - Everything

Jean's POV

I opened my eyes as the Chief shook me.

"Hey, wake up. Where are the villagers?"

I glanced around, confused for a moment.

Then, my head started hurting.

I pressed a hand against my forehead.

"They... they're at the cave. Someone led them there."

Without warning, the Chief carried me on his back and ran toward the cave.

I kept one hand against my head as I glanced behind us.

A figure was following.

I squinted my eyes...

Then they widened.

"Envy!" I shouted.

The Chief stopped and turned around.

SWOOOOSH!

Envy punched the Chief with his extended arm.

The Chief was knocked away, I was separated from the Chief and hit a tree.

I watched the Chief stand and raise his war axe.

Envy approached us, smiling as he repeated the same sentence.

"This ends here."

"This ends here."

"This ends here!"

His arms suddenly lunged forward, wrapping around the Chief.

"This ends here."

But then, a voice suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"Not on my watch!"

A crimson skeleton appeared and kicked Envy away.

The Chief was freed.

Envy was knocked back, flying past five houses before finally coming to a stop.

I glanced toward the source of the voice.

My eyes widened.

It was Loras.

He was wounded, but he was still standing.

"Loras!" I shouted, a big smile spreading across my face.

Gabriel's POV

I kept dodging Geye's attacks while holding my bleeding shoulder, healing it in the process.

"Are you gonna keep running, Gabriel?!"

"This is happening because of your cockiness!" Geye shouted as he continued attacking me.

"Oh, shut up! A slight bruise isn't enough to put down a man like me!" I said, hiding the pain as I dodged.

SLAAASH!

SWIIING!

SWIIIFT!

SWIIIING!

SWOOOSH!

Then—

SWEEEEZ!

I felt something coil around my legs.

The serpents from earlier?

Before I could react—

Geye lunged forward and slashed vertically across my chest.

Geye smirked at me.

"So, after all that dodging..."

"You are destined to fail, Gabriel."

"And destined to lose everything."

Geye lifted his arm above his head, turning it into a blade.

Gabriel sighed.

"Everything?"

Suddenly...

Memories flooded Gabriel's head.

"I haven't lost anything. I still have..."

"This!"

The sky darkened.

Countless golden coins floated in midair.

Some launched toward Geye—

But Geye dodged them.

The other coins pressed against me and lifted me from a distance.

I kept raining Geye with my coins while healing myself.

"Is this all you got, Gabriel?!"

"Why are you holding back?!"

"You're better than this!"

Geye shouted as he kept dodging my attacks.

"Shut up! I'm still recovering, can't you see?!" I shouted, then pointed a finger at him.

A giant fist formed in golden coins and launched ahead.

Geye froze for a second before dodging it.

But before he could breathe—

I shifted my pointed finger, and another fist formed, launching it at him.

BOOOM!

I shifted my index finger.

Then the earlier coins that pierced the ground—

Floated again.

And pierced through Geye.

He blocked some of it with his hardened scales.

But I'm not done yet.

Without warning—

I raised my hand.

The two fists emerged and released a barrage of attacks at Geye.

After several minutes, I stopped the attack.

The fists retracted, coins clattering on the ground.

I stood as my wounds slowly healed up, walking towards Geye...

I stared at the dust, waiting for it to clear.

Then—

WOOOOSH!

A spike was launched at me.

I barely had time to react, but my coin parried it.

I glanced back and saw Geye lying on the ground.

"Look who's destined to lose."

I smirked, holding my shoulder.

"This doesn't end here, Gabriel. You know I'll always come back."

Geye smiled as his body twitched weirdly.

Then it lit up—

"See you."

BOOOM!

Geye's body exploded.

I didn't see it coming.

I was launched away from the explosion, but the coins caught my back before I hit the rock.

I glanced around, looking for something.

Then I saw it...

A bird came out of the smoke.

I pointed a finger at it, ready to launch a coin.

But I hesitated...

And slowly lowered my hand.

"Until we meet again, Envy."
