Chapter 6 - NOT AGAIN!

Ariel, Vorgath and Kaelix finally joined the hunters and hunted for beasts. Time continued to pass and Ariel could now summon four magics. She had also gotten far in her fighting skills and continued to try new things and unlock new skills on beasts.

Vorgath and Kaelix had also improved by leaps and bounds as well. They could now hunt beasts on their own and collect their crystals. These crystals help to improve a person depending on how strong the beasts are. Just by swallowing the crystal, one unlocks new skills and even get protected from attacks.

Usually, the stronger the beasts, the stronger one's skills and the more the person is protected. Also, if a person keeps consuming beast crystals nonstop, there is a high possibility that the person can live for hundreds of years while still being protected by the crystals. How these crystals protect them is unknown but most people believe it to be one of the many wonders of magic and so, to get stronger, one needs to consume as much beast crystals as one can.

Ariel, Vorgath and Kaelix now went out to hunt on their own together, and this day was one of those days. They just finished hunting a few beasts and laid down to rest.

"Hunting beasts is quite fun." Kaelix said.

"What if you were those beasts?" Vorgath asked.

"Do you always have to think of such things?" Kaelix complained.

"You two fight a lot." Ariel said.

"Tell that to your husband." Kaelix hissed.

"Can you stop calling me that?" Vorgath said.

"Why? Are you now ashamed of it? I thought you were head over heels for Ariel, what's the matter now?"

"You can only call me that if she agrees to marry me. Besides if she was in her planet, she'd be married by now, right?" Vorgath faced Ariel.

"You're a funny kid." Ariel replied.

"Hey, stop calling me a kid." Vorgath complained.

"She literally meant 'yes, I'll marry you.'" Kaelix said.

"How do you know? Are you now a counsellor or something?" Vorgath asked.

"You can now kiss the bride." Kaelix smiled.

"When you kiss N'zan, then I'll do mine."

"But she's not here now. I've not even seen people kiss before." Kaelix said.

"Neither have I, so zip it." Vorgath snapped.

"We can actually do it, you know?" Ariel said. Vorgath and Kaelix looked at themselves, with Vorgath's face turning bright red.

"What happened to your shy attitude? I kinda liked it." Vorgath commented shyly.

"She just gave you a go and you're complaining. What a fool." Kaelix hissed.

Ariel bent towards Vorgath and instantly kissed him, pressing her soft lips against his, and catching him completely off guard. Their lips met awkwardly, both clearly inexperienced. He hesitated for a second, shy and unsure, before finally relaxing into the kiss and kissing her back. Soon, she released herself and stared at him.

"My shy attitude? I passed it on to you." She smiled. Kaelix let out a loud laughter, and if not for the fact that he was already lying down, be would have lost balance and fallen to the ground.

"What's so funny?" Vorgath asked and playfully beat Kaelix on his shoulders.

"I'm tired of hunting beasts already. Let's go home and prepare to catch fish." Ariel said and they both followed her.

When they were near their village though, they could see smoke everywhere. They instantly reduced their pace and looked at it with horror.

"What's happening? Is it a festival or something?" Kaelix asked.

"Don't tell me..." Vorgath said.

They stopped dead in their tracks when they could finally see their village. Houses were burned down and bodies were everywhere.

"Our village." Kaelix gasped. They wanted to move but had lost the will to. They just stood there staring at their planet, tears streaming from their cheeks.

Soon, they heard the rustling of leaves which had snapped them to reality. They made to run, but the voice called out to them.

"Don't run, please."

The voice sounded familiar and they immediately rushed to where he was as he fell to his knees.

"Thorvok! Who did this?" Ariel gasped in shock.

"The... people...that...harmed... your...planet." every word was painful to him as he spoke.

"The humans." Vorgath realised.

"But how? Why?" Kaelix sobbed.

"You need to run before they see you. I only managed to escape so I can find you, Ariel." He spoke softly they had to strain their ears to hear him out. Knowing the pain he was going through, they had to allow him to finish talking.

"I wish to give you my magic. It will cost my life but Ariel, you are a light that needs to be shone to the world. I can open portals to different worlds and I know what you will want to do after now. But I'm telling you, don't do it. You will want to go to earth to kill the humans but you will only end up killing yourself. So open portals to other planets I stayed and gather allies, build an army and together, you will bring the humans down."

But how will I be able to summon these magics?" Ariel asked with a solemn voice.

"You'll figure it out someday. You were always going to be alone in this world but don't let that bring you down." He finally said and touched her head. Ariel closed her eyes as energy suddenly rushed into her body and entering those empty spaces. Thorvok was getting paler and paler until his hand finally dropped to the ground. He was white now, and his voice was in a whisper.

"I hope I won't regret this, Ariel." He said.

"You won't." She replied and held his hand.

"Vorgath, Kaelix..." Those were his last words before he suddenly stopped breathing.

There was silence as Vorgath and Kaelix held their breath till the end. Only the sound of burning was heard.

"You heard what master said. We need to run before they find us." Kaelix finally broke the silence.

"I wish I was here to save them. How can everything be gone so easily?" Vorgath cried.

'not again, no, no...why do I always have to keep running? Everyone tells me I'm the light that needs to be shone to the world. What if I just transfer it to another person and just die like everyone else? Why am I so special? It makes me...sick.' Ariel cried as those thoughts entered her head.

"Ariel, we need to run. You need to summon that magic and get us out of here. We're definitely not safe here." Kaelix said.

"But how? I do not even know what this energy looks like."

"I used to watch master open portals for hunters. The colour of the portal is...green, yes! Green. Look for a green energy inside of you. You need to be quick." Kaelix explained.

Not wasting time and trying to concentrate at the same time, Ariel finally found the green energy. As usual, it formed into a ball of green energy. Normally, Ariel would think of a planet to go to, but there was none other than the three dangerous planets on her mind. So instead, the green ball started to open by itself showing a portal to an unknown planet that did not look destroyed. Grabbing Vorgath, they all jumped into the portal and Ariel tried to close it up which she did.

Now, they were in another planet.
