Chapter 77: The flames of War.
After Max Tennyson, the supreme ruler of the Plumber Domain, declared the annihilation of the Forever Knights, all hell broke loose.
Every Plumber personnel that had been monitoring the Forever Knights took action and in a matter of hours, death washed over the Beast Realm.
The facilities of the Forever Knights, which had been growing and expanding slowly, were burned to the ground and every knight was massacred or forced into chains.
The people funding the knights, usually billionaires or politicians, were forced to cut their support of the establishment entirely, and those that didn't met the same fate as the knights.
After all, it was the fate of the Beast Realm that was at stake.
But unfortunately, in the eyes of the public, a genocide was happening. And so, protestors immediately rose up, defending the rights of the knights.
Their voices fell on deaf ears, as no one was brave or powerful enough to challenge the decree of their supreme monarch.

[Hugo's POV]
Hugo was currently resisting the urge to transform into Alien X and nuke everything in this godforsaken nightmare.
Everything since its beginning had gone wrong and he had found himself losing repeatedly, barely gaining anything in this nightmare.
Not to mention his sanity which had been slowly fracturing each days.
After a few minutes of standing completely still, he exhaled.
'Calm down, Hugo, it's not that bad... You just got robbed by a sacred god, it's not that big of a deal... Fuck, it's that big of a deal!'
He lost a divine memory!
A memory that could literally destroy a planet!
And the worst thing is, he didn't have any way to stop it...
He had gained ten new aliens and an Aspect relic but the loss of such an artifact was still a huge loss...
Eventually, Hugo ended up sitting on the hospital bed, solemnly thinking about his next step.
He had not forgotten what Paradox had told him about the nature of fate, the Forgotten God, and Sunny's crucial role in destroying fate...
Hugo was not going to manipulate his friend for the so-called greater good... At least, that's what he wanted to believe.
'Forget it, I'll deal with that later... For now, let's see what I got.'
With a tired sigh, Hugo opened his runes, and his eyes immediately widened.
Name: Hugo
True Name: –– ––
'What the hell is this?!'
He knew that he had lost his True Name when he "became" Ben Tennyson briefly. However, Hugo had assumed that Paradox had taken care of that when he had restored his personality.
But it turned out he was wrong.
Hugo had lost his True Name... perhaps forever.
'Is this a good or a bad thing?'
Humanity of the War Realm had never been able to find out what the purpose of a True Name was, and so Hugo simply had no idea how dire the loss of his True Name was...
It would have been horrifying if it had stopped him from ascending further, but the Spell should take care of that part, and his other abilities don't seem to be effected either way.
'I'm so gonna kill that son of a bitch when I get a chance.'
Cursing Ben Tennyson in his head, Hugo continued reading the runes.

Hugo let out a long whistle at the list of aliens he had gotten.
The first ten were the ones that were already unlocked by Ben Tennyson of this nightmare, which he had used most of except for Goop, Brainstorm, and Spidermonkey. Hugo hadn't found himself in any situation where he'd need to use these three so far.
Alien x was... Complicated, so hugo pretends it doesn't exist.
That aside, his new list of aliens seemed quite impressive.
So much so that he immediately clicked the Omnitrix button and began testing them out one by one.
First was Water Hazard, which was a metallic red alien that was more of a robot than an alien, who also possessed the ability to generate and control water from his body.
It was a pseudo-aquatic alien, different from Ripjaws, which was a good thing in Hugo's book considering it allowed him control over water on land.
Then there came NRG, Terraspin, Ampfibian, and Armodrillo.
These four aliens were focused on the elemental theme, with NRG having control over lava and boasting an external suit that he can detach from to reveal its true form. Nrg set of Abilities was leaning more towards destruction like heatblast. It was not a bad thing but pure power was slowly loosing its appeal with how much many Hugo had.
Terraspin, on the other hand, was capable of spinning to generate air. However, the strange alien was not capable of manipulating air, which was a bit disappointing and pretty useless but hey, turning into a turtle was cool.
Armodrillo was a more subtle alien, possessing an affinity to earth and the ability of transforming his arms into either drills or jackhammer arms, which was very bizarre for a biological alien. Hugo didn't really find this alien that interesting as well, considering its lack of diversity in its abilities.
Then there came Ampfibian, which was by far the most impressive of the elemental aliens, capable of manipulating and generating electricity on a far larger scale than Buzzshock, which was one of Hugo's favorite and most useful aliens back in the Forgotten Shore. Not only that, but the strange jellyfish-like alien was capable of breathing and maneuvering underwater perfectly, making it a fusion of Ripjaws and Buzzshock.
'Now that I think about it, most of the aliens from the second playlist are like fusion of the previous aliens that I had. I wonder if that's a coincidence...'
The remaining four aliens were quite mundane compared to the other six however Hugo found them... Fun?
There was rath which was a humanoid tiger like alien with impressive agility and superhuman acrobatics skills. This alien's main abilities resolved around empowering himself by making other creatures fear him.
This alien didn't possess any other useful power besides this and it also changed his personality the must compared to Hugo's other forms so much that he was a whole other person when transformed into him.m, one driven by rage and fury.
Then there was Fasttrack... Which was basically a knockoff xlr8.
Hugo liked the fact that he had regained a speedster based alien that could run on lands unlike jetray which could only display his speed while flying. Still, this alien was of the ascended rank thus its speed is Naturally faster then xlr8.
'It also looks like a human wearing a fursuit, oddly enough...'
Eatle was another bizzare metallic alien that could consume substances and shoot them out as energy, which was... Decent? Hugo once again couldn't think of any situation where he would be using these aliens.
Then there was the alien known as loadstar, which was a magnetic type alien with a very very bizzare biology.
This alien offered Hugo great mobility in terms of craftmanship and battle control especially with metal being an important part of both the old and new world, making it a valuable alien.
And lastly.... There was Walkatrout...
"A fish? Really?"
Transformed into a blueish fix with legs, Hugo wanted to slam his hand against his forehead but couldn't because of its short limbs.
How could such a useless noble creature exist?
Not only did it not possses any abilities, but its rank was also dormant!
This alien regressed Hugo back in rank somehow, which Hugo assumed was impossible but here he was, even weaker then when he was a sleeper.
It made him weaker, offered no abilities and was for all Intent and purposes useless...
'well, at least now I know that the playlists ranks are randomized...'
All of the aliens of the first playlist were awakened, and 18 of the second playlist were ascended however, it seemed that's not an absolute rule as alien x and Walkatrout were both of a different rank then the others.
Which would mean that the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh playlist will possess a myriad of creatures, each of a unique rank.
There was also the strange fact that the aliens in playlist 2 all had codenames which Hugo didn't assign... Which implies that the omnitrix was using Ben's codenames...
'What dies that guy have that I don't? I can come up with good names too... Surely... Right?'
The omnitrix insistence on using Ben's codenames bothered Hugo as it made him feel like an inferior wielder...
'huh, now that I think about it, the omnitrix is pretty strange in this nightmare. I have the omnitrix as my aspect, while ben has the real omnitrix but when we entered the nightmare, he got albedo's omnitrix which he then modified to the ultimatrix while I got a copy of the original omnitrix created by the nightmare spell... How bizzare '
Detransforming and brushing away the ridiculous thoughts away, Hugo stretched in his human form.
'I guess I should be grateful, my versatility just tripled...'
Hugo was slowly becoming the most versatile creature in existence, capable of changing freely from a myriad of different forms truly becoming anything and anyone.
Once he gets playlist 0 and 1 unlocked once again, he would have a total of 37 aliens, each are of the terror class and all possesesd unique abilities and attributes granting him unimaginable powers.
In terms of quantity, he far outmatched all of the saints of humanity and Hugo was a mere awakened.
He was a man of pure potential unrivaled by few in his class and rank...
Getting the random thought out of his head, Hugo focused on his aspect legacy relic.
It was time to claim the real prize.
'what would it be this time.... A memory? An attribute or something else?'
[Claim relic?]
"Yes" Hugo said in an excited voice.
[Aspect legacy relic claimed]
[You have received a memory: Nemitrix]
