She leaned close to Lana Lowell's ear, her lips brushing against the ear shell, and cursed through gritted teeth.
"Are you crazy? She's just lucky she picked up a project that can last a few days."
"Do you think she really has any skill? Someone who can't even understand a contract managed to take down Jadefall, relying entirely on a man's backing."
"Now the man has just dumped her, the relationship is cleanly severed, do you still expect her to pull off another?"
"Once her true colors are revealed, let's see who will still serve her!"
Cora Lowell didn't raise her eyes, her lashes hanging low.

He abruptly closed his eyes, his nostrils faintly flaring, taking a deep breath.
