The decision to target Dressrosa was not made lightly. While Fish-Man Island was a strategic victory for prestige and territory, Dressrosa was the jugular of the world's "Dark Trade." Donquixote Doflamingo was the "Joker," the man who connected the Yonko Kaido with the World Government's clandestine needs.
By striking Dressrosa, Auguro wasn't just conquering an island—he was cutting the strings of the global puppet master.
Inside the Ryugu Palace's war room, Auguro stood before a holographic map of the Grand Line, projected by a specialized System-purchased device.
"Doflamingo is a Shichibukai," Nico Robin pointed out, her eyes scanning the intelligence reports. "The World Government will see an attack on him as a direct violation of the treaty. Moreover, Kaido relies on the SMILE fruits produced there. If the supply stops, the Beasts Pirates will move immediately."
"Good," Auguro said, a sharp glint in his eyes. "Let them move. I want the World Government to realize that their 'balance of power' is a delusion. And I want Kaido to realize that his 'Army of Gifted' is nothing more than a collection of broken souls."
He turned to the new arrivals. Byakuya Kuchiki stood like a statue, his expression bored, while Kenpachi Zaraki was busy sharpening his jagged blade against a piece of reinforced Seastone, sparks flying across the room.
"Byakuya, you will lead the vanguard. Take the 6th Division. Your objective is not just to defeat the Donquixote Family, but to dismantle the birdcage before it can even be formed," Auguro commanded.
"As you wish," Byakuya replied softly. "But Lord Auguro, what of the 'King' of that island? If he is as arrogant as you say, he may try to use the citizens as shields."
"That is where Soi Fon and the Onmitsukidō come in," Auguro replied. "They have already infiltrated. The moment you arrive via the Senkaimon, the 'Sugar' that holds the island's secrets will be neutralized."
Dressrosa – The Royal Plateau
Donquixote Doflamingo leaned back in his chair, a glass of expensive wine in his hand. The news of Fish-Man Island had reached him, and for the first time in years, the veins on his forehead were throbbing with genuine irritation.
"Fufufufu... Sith Auguro. A 'Soul King'?" Doflamingo laughed, though there was no humor in it. "He's disrupting the market. The Five Elders are panicking, and Kaido is breathing down my neck for more SAD."
"Doffy," Trebol snot-whined, leaning in close. "We should double the guards at the Toy House. If that brat is as smart as they say, he'll go for the factory first."
"The factory is protected by the most sophisticated security in the New World," Doflamingo sneered. "And I have the Marines in my pocket. If Auguro shows his face here, Admiral Fujitora is already in the vicinity. I'll make the World Government do my dirty work."
Suddenly, the sky above Dressrosa began to ripple.
It wasn't a cloud formation or a storm. It was as if the fabric of space itself was being unzipped. A massive, ornate wooden gate—the Senkaimon—manifested in mid-air above the central plaza.
The citizens looked up in awe and terror. Then, the gate creaked open.
Clack. Clack. Clack.
The sound of wooden sandals on the air itself echoed across the city. Byakuya Kuchiki stepped out of the gate, followed by a hundred Soul Reapers in black shihakusho. The spiritual pressure (Reiatsu) hit the island like a physical weight, causing the weaker citizens to faint instantly.
Doflamingo stood up, his sunglasses reflecting the divine gate. "What... what is that? No Devil Fruit creates a gate like that!"
"Donquixote Doflamingo," Byakuya's voice carried over the entire kingdom, cold and judgmental. "By the authority of the Soul King, your crimes against the cycle of souls have been weighed. This island is now under the jurisdiction of the Holy Spirit Empire. Surrender, and your death shall be swift."
"Fufufufu! You think a few men in black pajamas can take my kingdom?" Doflamingo's fingers twitched. "Parasite!"
Invisible strings shot out from Doflamingo's hands, aimed at Byakuya's limbs. In the underworld, Doflamingo was famous for turning his enemies into puppets before they could even blink.
Byakuya didn't move. He didn't even draw his sword.
As the strings approached, they suddenly snapped into dust.
"Bakudō #39. Enkōsen (Round Fan Flare)."
A circular shield of condensed spiritual energy had formed around Byakuya. The strings, made of physical matter and Haki, couldn't penetrate the barrier of pure spirit.
"Hmph. Crude," Byakuya remarked. "You rely on strings to control others because you have no control over your own soul."
The Underground Trading Port
While the attention was on the sky, a shadow moved through the dark corridors of the SMILE factory. Soi Fon appeared in front of a small, frightened girl holding a grape. This was Sugar, the core of Doflamingo's power—the one whose Hobby-Hobby Fruit turned people into forgotten toys.
"Who are you?" Sugar squeaked, reaching out her hand to touch Soi Fon. One touch, and the Captain of the 2nd Division would become a toy.
Soi Fon's eyes remained cold. She didn't dodge. She simply moved faster than the human eye—or even Sugar's Devil Fruit—could track.
"Nigeki Kessatsu (Death in Two Steps)," Soi Fon whispered.
She tapped Sugar's chest with her stinger-like blade, Suzumebachi. A butterfly-shaped seal, the Hōka munshō, appeared on Sugar's skin.
"What... what is this?" Sugar cried out, lunging again.
Soi Fon moved again, a blur of black and white. She struck the exact same spot. "The second strike is the end."
The seal glowed with a toxic gold light. Sugar didn't turn into a toy; she didn't even bleed. Her very spiritual essence was detonated from the inside out. As she lost consciousness, the "Curse of the Toys" across all of Dressrosa began to break.
The City Streets
All at once, thousands of toys—soldiers, teddy bears, dogs—began to glow. In a flash of light, they transformed back into humans. Fathers who had been forgotten by their daughters, husbands forgotten by their wives, and legendary warriors like Kyros suddenly regained their forms.
The "forgotten" memories of the entire nation flooded back in a single, agonizing, and joyous wave.
"My... my husband?" a woman cried out, hugging a man who had been her toy dog for ten years.
"Doflamingo!" Kyros roared, his single leg restored by the spiritual mending of the Empire's presence nearby. "Today is the day you pay!"
The island erupted into a revolution.
The Royal Plateau
Doflamingo felt it. He felt his control over the island vanishing. He felt the fear of his subordinates.
"You... you destroyed Sugar," Doflamingo hissed, his face contorted in a demonic rage. "I'll kill you! I'll kill every one of you! Birdcage!"
He threw his hands into the sky, intending to create the dome of razor-sharp strings that would grind the island to dust.
But as the strings began to emerge, a massive shadow fell over him.
Kenpachi Zaraki had arrived.
He hadn't come through the gate. He had simply run across the ocean floor from Fish-Man Island, fueled by pure boredom and the desire to cut something strong. He leaped from the coast, soaring thousands of feet into the air, and landed right in front of Doflamingo, shattering the entire Royal Plateau upon impact.
"Hey, Flamingo-man," Kenpachi said, his eyepatch rattling as he grinned. "I heard you were 'the Joker.' Does that mean you're funny? Or do you just scream a lot when you're being cut?"
Doflamingo stepped back, his Haki screaming a warning he had never felt before. The man in front of him wasn't a human. He was a natural disaster shaped like a warrior.
"Byakuya," Kenpachi growled, looking over his shoulder. "This one is mine. Go find some other toys to play with."
Byakuya sighed, sheathing his blade. "Very well. I shall focus on the Admiral who is approaching from the south. Try not to destroy the entire island, Zaraki. The Lord wants this territory intact."
"No promises!" Kenpachi laughed, drawing his notched, terrifying blade. "Come on, Joker! Show me what a 'God' can do!"
High above, in the hidden dimension of the System, Auguro watched the points roll in.
"Ding! Global Event Triggered: The Fall of the Underworld!"
"Prestige is skyrocketing! Current Achievement Points: 1,800,000!"
Auguro stood up from his throne in the Seireitei. "The pieces are moving. By the time the sun sets on Dressrosa, the world will realize that I am not just a King... I am the inevitability of the Grave."
