The question caught Flinn off guard.
She remained quiet for a moment, her eyes drifting toward her sister. The answer should have been simple. If Linn could return home, then Flinn should be able to return with her.
But things weren't that simple anymore.
"I... don't know, I've become a Trickster, the direct opposite of what he used to be," said Flinn.
Lexel's expression remained neutral.
He understood who she was referring to.
Their father.
Someone whose path and identity were fundamentally different from the one Flinn had chosen. The word Trickster carried more meaning than simply a job class in this situation. It represented the distance that had grown between Flinn and the person she had once been expected to follow.
Flinn lowered her gaze.
Even after everything she had gone through to find Linn, she wasn't certain where she belonged anymore.
Linn could go home.
But could she?
For the first time since becoming a Trickster, Flinn had no answer.
