Mrs. Sherman joked with Eve, but noticed she only tugged at the corner of her mouth listlessly, without even a smile.
Mrs. Sherman felt a bit upset and threw down the shopping bag she was holding.
"What's the matter, Grandma?"
Eve quickly picked up the bag and asked in a low voice.
"What's wrong with you? No matter what I say, you always react like this. And when asked what's going on, you say nothing. Are you trying to anger this old lady to death?"
As Mrs. Sherman spoke, she turned to leave.
"Alright, Grandma, I was just considering what I want to do in the future."
Eve swiftly supported her.
"What do you mean? Aren't you doing well at your job?"
The old lady looked at her with confusion.
"I resigned."
