Eve Sherman frowned upon hearing the words: "But didn't you say the police would investigate this?"
"It's just such a coincidence. The incident happened in a blind spot of surveillance cameras, that area suffered a power outage, so there's no footage of what happened. If your dad wasn't the perpetrator, how did he get there? The video provides no explanation. Anyway, right now, all the evidence seems to point at him."
Riley Langdon sighed helplessly, "I want to help you, but even the true state of affairs isn't clear now. All I can do now is strive for a reduced sentence in his defense. After all, surrendering does count in the sentencing considerations, but the most serious charge is the hit-and-run."
Eve Sherman felt her heart sink.
"When you meet your father later, speak with him thoroughly, make sure to ask him exactly what happened; otherwise, I'll have no choice but to defend him as though he's the perpetrator."
