Chapter 29 - CHAPTER 29- The Heir Of Hell

Chapter 29 — The Heir of Hell

The sky exploded.

One moment Kael stood in the center of a shattered crater.

The next—

He was gone.

A streak of silver and crimson fire tore across the heavens like a falling star traveling in reverse.

Gharvak barely had time to react.

BOOM!

Kael's fist slammed into the side of the giant demon's face.

The impact echoed across the entire city.

Skyscraper windows shattered.

Shockwaves rippled through the clouds.

For the first time since emerging from Hell—

Gharvak screamed.

---

A Different Power

The Devourer staggered backward.

Massive claws dug trenches through the city streets as it struggled to regain balance.

Kael hovered in the air.

Silver and crimson flames swirled around his body.

His new form felt different.

Not stronger.

Not exactly.

Balanced.

The rage remained.

The pain remained.

The desire for justice remained.

But now they were under his control.

Not the Devil's.

His.

Deep inside his mind, the Devil watched silently.

For the first time since granting the Mark...

It wasn't speaking.

It was observing.

Waiting.

---

The Devourer's Fear

Gharvak's enormous eyes narrowed.

The ancient demon recognized the energy surrounding Kael.

Not the Devil's Mark.

Not Hellfire.

Something older.

Something rarer.

The silver flames.

A power thought lost long ago.

The monster growled.

"Seraphina..."

The name rumbled like thunder.

Kael heard it.

And his expression darkened.

"You knew my mother?"

Gharvak roared.

The answer was clear enough.

---

Watching from Below

Lena and Taro stood on a rooftop overlooking the battlefield.

The heat was intense.

The pressure nearly overwhelming.

Yet neither could look away.

Taro shook his head.

"I can't believe this is happening."

Lena stared at Kael.

The silver and crimson light reflected in her eyes.

"That's still him."

Taro glanced sideways.

"You always believed in him."

Lena looked away quickly.

A faint blush touched her cheeks.

"Maybe."

Taro laughed.

"Maybe?"

She crossed her arms.

"Fine."

"Yes."

A small smile appeared.

"I always liked him."

---

An Old Secret

Unfortunately for Lena...

Azrael heard everything.

The Crimson Duke smirked.

"Interesting."

Lena immediately regretted speaking.

Azrael's golden eyes sparkled with amusement.

"You know..."

"What?"

The demon lord looked toward Kael.

"He liked you too."

Silence.

Absolute silence.

Lena froze.

Taro froze.

The city itself seemed to pause.

Then—

"What?!"

Azrael laughed.

A genuine laugh.

"He never told her?"

Taro burst out laughing.

"Oh this is amazing."

Lena's face turned bright red.

"You're joking."

"I'm not."

The Duke smiled.

"He spent years trying to work up the courage."

---

Embarrassing Memories

Meanwhile...

High above the city...

Kael suddenly sneezed.

His eyes narrowed suspiciously.

"Why do I feel like someone is talking about me?"

Gharvak immediately tried to crush him with a claw.

Kael dodged.

Barely.

"Focus."

---

Why Seraphina Fled

As the battle continued, Azrael's expression gradually became more serious.

The laughter faded.

The amusement disappeared.

And something almost resembling sadness entered his eyes.

Lena noticed.

"What happened?"

The Duke looked skyward.

"To Seraphina?"

Lena nodded.

Azrael sighed.

"She saw the future."

The answer surprised them both.

"What?"

The Crimson Duke folded his arms.

"She discovered a prophecy."

Taro frowned.

"What prophecy?"

Azrael's gaze shifted toward Kael.

"A war."

The wind grew colder.

"A war that would destroy both Hell and Earth."

Silence.

The Duke continued.

"And at the center of that war..."

His eyes narrowed.

"Was her son."

---

The Heir

Above them, Kael and Gharvak collided again.

The force split the clouds apart.

Silver and crimson fire exploded outward.

The city trembled.

Azrael watched carefully.

"Seraphina abandoned Hell because she wanted to protect him."

Lena stared upward.

"Kael."

The Duke nodded.

"She hoped a human life would spare him from his destiny."

A bitter smile appeared.

"But fate rarely listens."

---

The Shadow Observer

Far away.

On top of the tallest building in the city.

Someone watched.

A figure wrapped in a dark coat.

Face hidden beneath a hood.

Completely invisible to humans.

Invisible even to demons.

The mysterious observer watched Kael carefully.

Then spoke a single sentence.

"He's awakening faster than expected."

A second voice answered from the darkness.

"Should we intervene?"

The figure remained silent.

For several moments.

Then—

"No."

"Not yet."

Their gaze remained fixed on Kael.

"Let him become stronger."

---

The Turning Point

Back in the battlefield, Gharvak was beginning to lose.

The giant demon's scales were cracked.

Its wounds burned with silver fire.

Its movements were slower.

Less confident.

Kael floated before it.

The silver-crimson flames intensified.

He could feel the city's fear.

The citizens running for safety.

Taro and Lena watching from afar.

The memory of his mother.

Everything fueled him.

Everything gave him strength.

Gharvak roared.

And charged one final time.

---

The Heir's Judgment

Kael raised his hand.

The sky responded.

Silver fire spiraled upward.

Crimson fire spiraled downward.

The two forces merged above him.

Forming a gigantic burning blade.

A sword larger than a skyscraper.

The entire city stared.

Even Azrael looked impressed.

"Not bad."

Kael's eyes glowed.

One crimson.

One silver.

The sword descended.

Gharvak tried to resist.

It failed.

The blade struck.

And the world became light.

---

Aftermath

The explosion illuminated the night.

Clouds vanished.

Buildings shook.

The ocean itself rippled from the force.

When the light finally faded—

Gharvak was gone.

Nothing remained.

The Devourer of Hell had fallen.

Silence swept across the city.

Kael hovered in the air.

Breathing heavily.

Victorious.

But something felt wrong.

Very wrong.

The Devil's Mark suddenly pulsed.

Once.

Twice.

Then violently.

Azrael's smile disappeared.

"Oh."

The Crimson Duke looked genuinely concerned.

"That's not good."

Kael looked down at the burning symbol on his chest.

"What?"

Azrael's golden eyes narrowed.

"Because Gharvak wasn't the threat."

The sky darkened again.

Far darker than before.

And from somewhere beyond the clouds...

Something enormous opened its eyes.
