The sudden scene left Su Yan completely at a loss. He leaned to the side to dodge the incoming attack, feeling utterly bewildered by the situation. He looked at the older man and asked, "Senior, what exactly are you doing?"
Before the man could respond, a blur of motion interrupted them. In a flash, Little Monkey shot in front of Su Yan. With one powerful swing of his iron staff, he sent Qian Daoliu flying through the air. The monkey was about to chase him down to deliver another beating when Su Yan quickly raised a hand. He signaled for Little Monkey to stay calm and step back.
"Senior, is there some kind of misunderstanding between us?" Su Yan asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
The moment Qian Daoliu managed to stop his backward momentum, he released his Angelic Spirit. The bright glow of the Seraphim appeared behind him, and he gripped the Angelic Sacred Sword tightly in his hand.
"A misunderstanding?" Qian Daoliu roared, his face red with anger. "You scoundrel! Do you really not know what you have done? How do you still dare to call this a misunderstanding? I had not even come looking for you yet, but you dared to enter Spirit City and strike me? Today, I will cut you down, you bastard!"
Qian Daoliu was absolutely livid as he charged forward with his sword raised. In his mind, this young man had trampled over his precious cabbage, and now the boy was hitting an old man. At this moment, he did not act like the High Priest of Spirit Hall or a refined gentleman. He was merely a heartbroken father whose hard work had been uprooted. To be fair, Qian Daoliu had at least asked for a name earlier to be sure he had the right person before attacking.
Su Yan dodged the strikes in a panic, his mind totally muddled. He thought to himself, "What is going on? This guy is really Qian Daoliu? He shouldn't be this frantic. He is acting like some thuggish old man swinging a sword the instant we meet."
Then, a sudden thought hit him. "Wait, could he already know about the Little Angel and me? Who the hell told him? Was it Porcupinefish or Snake Lance? Fine, you two bastards better wash your butts and get ready for what is coming."
"Senior, please calm down!" Su Yan shouted as he dodged another swing. "If you keep chasing me like this, I will have no choice but to fight back."
Qian Daoliu hesitated for a brief second. He glanced at the iron-staff-wielding Little Monkey standing nearby. He noticed the monkey's nine spirit rings, which included seven rings from Vicious Beasts. He realized the situation was grim. He thought, "Crap, it looks like I cannot actually beat this cabbage-trampling bastard!"
"You!" Qian Daoliu yelled, pointing his sword. "Do you even know who I am to Xiaoxue?"
Su Yan nodded his head frantically. "I know, I know who you are!"
Despite the answer, Qian Daoliu still slashed at him with the golden sword. "And you still dare to think about fighting back?"
Su Yan was left speechless. He realized that trying to talk logic to the old man was useless right now. "As I expected! Forget it. I am not playing with you lot today. Next time, I will ride my Ghost-Motorcycle and park it right at the gates of Spirit Hall just to annoy you!"
Su Yan decided it was time to leave. "Eighth spirit ring, Second Spirit Ability, Sleeve Universe!"
Su Yan unleashed his powerful spatial ability. He released Bibi Dong from the space within his sleeve and prepared to bolt from the area.
Meanwhile, inside the Sleeve Universe, Bibi Dong had been trapped for what felt like ages. She had blasted the space around her with her power, but she could not find an exit. Every attack she launched vanished like stones sinking into the deep sea. Suddenly, she felt a ripple of spatial fluctuation appear in front of her.
Bibi Dong seized the instant. She summoned the Supreme Spider King in front of her, while three clones of herself appeared behind. Their terrifying spirit power combined into a massive shockwave that blasted toward the small glimmer of light marking the exit. As the surroundings grew brighter, she felt a surge of joy.
"I have finally broken out!" she shouted, only to freeze mid-air. "Qian Daoliu?"
Bibi Dong hastily tried to rein in her power, but it was too late. A tidal wave of spirit power surged outward from her position. Qian Daoliu had been charging at Su Yan when the Supreme Spider King suddenly appeared. The fearsome spirit power hit him and sent him flying backward once again.
Luckily, the energy only grazed him. Even with Bibi Dong trying to hold back at the last second, a direct hit from her would have likely cost him half his life. Of course, Su Yan knew he could always revive the old man if things went too far.
"What the?" Su Yan watched as Qian Daoliu vomited blood while flying through the air. He almost burst out laughing at the sight. "Old Geezer, I told you not to chase me. Go heal him, Little Monkey. I am out of here."
Su Yan gave his orders and then used his Somersault Cloud to vanish from Spirit City in an instant. Little Monkey tracked the direction where Qian Daoliu had landed. He found the old man lying in a large crater, looking up at the sky and doubting his life. The monkey cast a life-restoring Spirit Ability on him, then hopped onto his own cloud to chase after Su Yan.
"Who am I?" Qian Daoliu muttered to himself. "Where am I? What just happened?"
He felt his injuries fully healed by the monkey's power, but he was still utterly bewildered. He thought he had seen three versions of Bibi Dong and a colossal spider. He had felt the crushing pressure of death, something he had never experienced even when fighting against Tang Chen or Bo Saixi.
At the same time, Bibi Dong was equally baffled. How had she managed to blast Qian Daoliu away the moment she broke out of Su Yan's ability? She looked around, trying to make sense of the chaos.
"Nana?" she called out. "What happened here?"
Hu Liena was stunned for a moment. After sorting through her confused thoughts, she explained, "Teacher, you vanished earlier. Then the High Priest arrived and started chasing Su Yan to hit him. Su Yan did not want to fight back against him, so he released you and ran away."
"Nonsense!" Bibi Dong's face darkened with pride. "He did not release me. I shattered his ability and escaped by myself!"
Hu Liena gave her teacher a dubious look. She wondered if her teacher really thought it was a coincidence that she emerged at the exact moment Su Yan decided to leave.
While the characters on the scene were confused, the chat group was exploding with messages. Hu Liena realized she had been left behind. "Wait, Su Yan! I haven't boarded yet! Take me with you! What am I supposed to do now? Su Yan, take me away!"
Other members joined in the chaos. Liu Erlong cried out, "Yanzi, how am I supposed to live without you! Yanzi, Yanzi!"
Bo Saixi was not happy at all. "Like hell you're leaving! We haven't filmed anything or explained what happened. Hu Liena, what is your situation over there?"
Tang Yuehua added her complaints, "You are the clumsiest cameraman ever. This is the worst experience for those of us watching. You are an infuriating fool."
The messages kept coming, with everyone blaming Hu Liena for the lack of a clear conclusion to the fight. Even the Nine Treasures Little Princess and Xiao Wu joined in to call her useless and dumb.
Over at the Crown Prince's Mansion, Qian Renxue was feeling exasperated. She thought to herself that Hu Liena could not even handle a simple task. Back then, Xiao Wu had managed to explain everything about Tang San and Yu Xiaogang at Nuoding Academy without any issues. Today's events had left everyone in the dark.
Suddenly, she received a private message.
"Little Angel, I just got beaten up," Su Yan wrote.
Qian Renxue was stunned. Someone actually managed to hit him? She quickly replied, "Did you lose to Bibi Dong?"
"Not Bibi Dong," Su Yan replied. "It was some Old Geezer."
Qian Renxue was confused. "Besides Bibi Dong, who could even beat you? An old man? Don't tell me it was my grandpa?"
"Yeah," Su Yan admitted. "I ran away without fighting back."
Seeing that message, Qian Renxue couldn't help but smile. At least the scoundrel had a conscience and didn't hurt her family. She replied, "Grandpa Porcupinefish returned to Spirit City yesterday. He must have told my grandpa everything about you."
Su Yan realized the source of the trouble. "No wonder he threw a punch and came at me with a sword the moment he saw me. Why didn't you warn me? I would have postponed visiting Bibi Dong."
"So, who won between you and Bibi Dong?" Qian Renxue asked, curious about the outcome. "Hu Liena botched the whole thing. There is no footage, no photos, and no explanation."
Su Yan defended the girl slightly. "You can't blame the Little Fox. She blanked out for a second, and by then, our duel was already over."
Qian Renxue was left even more confused by his words.
