Daniel frowned at the notification floating before his eyes.
"Anti-Dimension Equation? What the hell is that?"
He had heard of the Anti-Life Equation. Every being with knowledge of the cosmos knew its name. But this? He had never even heard it mentioned.
The System displayed its description.
[Anti-Dimension Equation]
Classification: Conceptual Authority
Authority: Dimensional Axis Manipulation
Abilities:
Vector Inversion: Instantly reverses the directional vector of any incoming force, projectile, or energy attack, returning it to its source with original momentum and destructive force intact.
Gravity Inversion: Reverses the target's personal gravitational axis, forcing them to fall in the opposite direction without affecting the surrounding environment.
Axis Manipulation: Alters the X, Y, and Z dimensional axes of designated targets within the user's authority.
Daniel stared at it for several seconds. "This doesn't even sound like a superpower. It sounds like it's rewriting the mathematical laws space follows."
Before he could think any further, the Space Element within the Mark of Nexus reacted.
The four digits engraved inside began spinning on their own, faster and faster until they blurred together and formed the shape of an infinity symbol.
At the same moment, the crimson corruption beneath Daniel's skin retreated rapidly. The red markings disappeared completely. The virus was gone.
"...Yeah. I didn't understand a single thing."
Still, the conclusion was obvious. The Mother Box hadn't infected him with an ordinary virus — it had used a portion of this Fragment's authority against him. Now that the Fragment had returned to the Mark of Nexus, the corruption collapsed without its source.
At the center of the battlefield, the three Mother Boxes were seconds away from completing the Unity.
Victor gritted his teeth as streams of alien code raced across his vision. "I can't stop it!"
The synchronization had progressed beyond anything he could override.
"Need a hand?"
Everyone turned.
Daniel walked toward the Mother Boxes with Kara still unconscious on his back. Without slowing down, he extended his hands between the three cubes just as they were about to make contact.
The synchronization halted instantly.
The Mother Boxes vibrated violently, trying to force themselves together. Daniel's hand didn't move.
He looked down at them. "You three have annoyed me quite a bit." His eyes narrowed. "Time you see my full power."
A pillar of black death energy erupted from his body. The sky darkened. Black lightning tore through the clouds as the ground beneath his feet collapsed under the pressure. The surrounding air distorted while the Mother Boxes pushed against the force holding them apart.
Steppenwolf's eyes widened. "No!"
He abandoned his fight with Superman and charged straight toward Daniel.
Diana stepped into his path before he could reach him. Her shield slammed into Steppenwolf's chest and stopped him cold.
"Your opponent," she said, tightening her grip on her sword, "is us."
Crimson arcs of energy lashed across the battlefield from the Mother Boxes, carving deep trenches through the ground.
The earth split beneath Daniel's feet as enormous cracks raced backward for hundreds of meters, tearing through the alien structures surrounding the Unity.
Daniel gritted his teeth. Every second felt like trying to force apart three planets.
"Fuck you!" His voice thundered across the battlefield. "I'm far more stubborn than the three of you. You really think I'll let you complete the Unity and ruin all my plans? The three of you can spend eternity rotting in some backyard garbage heap!"
The Mother Boxes surged again. The ground beneath him collapsed.
Black lightning exploded from his body and collided with the crimson energy pouring from the cubes, the two forces clashing so violently that the surrounding air warped under the pressure.
Daniel roared as every muscle in his body tensed.
Slowly. Almost imperceptibly.
The three Mother Boxes began moving apart. The synchronization faltered. The Unity started to break.
The Mark of Nexus flared with an intensity it had never displayed before. The clock hands spun so rapidly they disappeared entirely. A pulse of black and golden energy erupted from the mark.
Daniel's hair began to change. The right side turned brilliant gold. The left became as black as the void. The transformation stopped when his hair was perfectly divided down the middle — one half gold, one half black.
With a final surge, Daniel forced his arms outward.
The three Mother Boxes were torn apart.
The Unity shattered.
"No...!" Steppenwolf tried to break past Superman toward the Mother Boxes. "NOOOOO!"
Diana was already waiting. He swung his axe with everything he had. She deflected it with her shield, pivoted on her front foot, and drew the God Killer in one smooth motion.
The blade flashed.
A single clean strike. Steppenwolf's head separated from his body. For a brief moment both remained suspended in the air. Then his massive frame collapsed to the ground while his severed head rolled across the cracked earth.
The battlefield fell silent.
The Parademons looked at the corpse of their commander. Panic spread through the swarm instantly. Without Steppenwolf, they broke formation and fled, disappearing into the remaining Boom Tubes as quickly as they had arrived.
The invasion was over.
