"What about you? Who do you pick to win?" Soya asked Heles again, wanting to hear her opinion.
"My thoughts are similar to Quitela's," Heles nodded, feeling Quitela was absolutely right. "A battle like this probably doesn't have much real suspense. But perhaps that guy in the orange clothes has some other hidden card or technique. After all, the halo of the protagonist can be quite effective sometimes."
"Shall we make a bet then? The losing side must provide 100,000 points of Universal Essence." Soya's smile grew even brighter, a glint of cunning shining in his eyes, as if victory was already assured.
"100,000 points of Universal Essence? Why don't you just rob us, kid? That's an outrageous demand!" Quitela exclaimed angrily, his face flushing red, stunned by Soya's greed.
"What do you think I'm doing right now?" Soya chuckled, his tone light and casual, as if discussing the most ordinary matter.
Quitela: "..."
Heles: "..."
"Negative emotional value from Quitela +1009!"
"Negative emotional value from Heles +1000!"
This guy actually has the nerve to state robbery so matter of factly.
He is utterly shameless!
The two of them ground their teeth in their hearts.
"Am I not giving you a chance here? I could just take it directly... but instead, we'll have a bet. That way, you'll lose convinced, and I can take it with a clear conscience." Soya said with a smile, a hint of teasing in his tone.
Raditz felt completely numb inside. He stole a glance at Soya, secretly sighing in admiration.
The boss now dares to openly rob a Destroyer God. Truly worthy of being the boss.
Before, you would avoid Destroyer Gods when you saw them.
And now, in such a short time, you can confront them head on.
"100,000 points of Universal Essence is too much. I can't produce that. It would affect the stability of my universe." Quitela snorted coldly, his tone resolute, clearly unwilling to be extorted by Soya.
"5,000 points at most! Not a single point more!" Heles gritted her teeth and said to Soya. This was already her limit.
"5,000 points... that might be acceptable." Soya nodded, putting on a reluctant expression. "I'm actually quite reasonable. Fine, let's go with your number."
The reason he said this was because Soya knew that the maximum amount of Universal Essence they could each produce was probably around 5,000 points.
Any more than that would start to harm the foundations of their own universes.
"How about this? We each give you 5,000 points of Universal Essence, making a total of 10,000 points. You release us immediately, and we don't need to bet on which of them will win. That would save everyone trouble." Quitela proposed, a trace of urgency in his eyes.
As long as he could leave this cube, anything would be fine.
"I think that works. Let's do that." Heles nodded, fully in agreement, wishing desperately to escape this predicament immediately.
"What are you talking about?" Soya immediately put on a stern face, glaring and shouting, "What kind of god do you think I am? How could I possibly take your Universal Essence for nothing? This matter is not up for negotiation. You must have this bet with me! Otherwise, I won't feel satisfied!"
Heles and Quitela ground their teeth together, their silver teeth clenching audibly.
Why is this kid so infuriating?
Why not just take the Universal Essence directly?
Why all these twists and turns?
"Alright then, considering how reasonable you both are being..." Soya took a deep breath, drew out his words, and said with a smile.
"Are you going to release us?" Heles's eyes lit up, asking with some excitement, a flicker of hope igniting in her heart.
"Considering how reasonable you both are being, if I lose, I'll give each of you 1,000 points of Universal Essence. Any objections?" Soya grinned, as if this were some great favor.
Heles and Quitela's faces turned green.
1,000 points?
Compared to 5,000 points, that's a mere drop in the bucket.
This guy is too much!
Quitela was so angry his whole body trembled. He struggled forcefully, trying to break free from the constraint of the cube walls, but only ended up stuck tighter, his energy draining even faster.
Yet it was completely useless, only making himself more miserable.
Heles also kept shooting glances at Quitela, meaning he shouldn't waste his energy.
Struggling is futile. Better to calm down and think of another way.
"Kid, you, a mere Supreme Kai, have quite the nerve. Do you know what the consequences are for provoking a Destroyer God? Once I get out, you'll pay dearly!" Quitela's forehead bulged with several veins as he shouted angrily at Soya, his tone full of threat.
"Just say whether you agree or not. Don't dawdle." Soya said with a smile, not taking Quitela's threat seriously at all.
"Fine!" Heles agreed without a second thought.
For now, they had to humor Soya, take one step at a time, and settle the score with him after getting out.
Quitela hated it, grinding his teeth, but knew there was no other option. He had to grit his teeth and agree, his eyes filled with resentment.
"You're both betting on this man named Son Goku to win, right?" Soya pointed at Son Goku inside the crystal ball, confirming.
At this moment, the battle between Son Goku and Vegeta had already begun, and it was extremely intense.
Quitela and Heles both nodded. Although they felt Vegeta's energy was stronger, they were more inclined to believe in Soya's counter strategy.
"Then it's settled. In their one on one duel, with no third party involvement, if Son Goku wins, I'll provide each of you with 1,000 points of Universal Essence and release you." Soya smiled. "But if you lose, each of you needs to provide me with 5,000 points of Universal Essence. No problem, right?"
Quitela and Heles did not object, only looking coldly at Soya, waiting to see how he would end this.
"Good. Now let's enjoy the show slowly. The exciting part is still to come." Soya's smile grew even brighter, revealing a row of white teeth that looked particularly punchable.
Seeing Soya's annoyingly smug smile, Quitela and Heles looked at each other again, starting to communicate with their eyes.
"I have a feeling... that Son Goku is going to lose. Vegeta's energy is clearly superior." Heles signaled with her eyes.
"Are we overthinking this? That guy named Vegeta is obviously much stronger than Son Goku. Maybe we bet on the wrong one." Quitela responded.
Heles felt even less confident.
"Forget it, forget it, it doesn't matter... Let's just focus on finding a way out of this cube first." A fierce glint flashed in Quitela's eyes. "Once we escape the restraint of this cube, do you really think this kid can take the Universal Essence away? We'll make him pay back double then!"
"What you say makes sense. We'll make him cough up even more Universal Essence later, and show him our power!" Heles nodded slightly.
