Chapter 126 - Chapter 126 - The Conspiracy of the Sages of the Ny Sar Sea

Cadmus was filled with curiosity about the girl Yennefer was talking about. No matter the world, universe, or multiverse; spatial powers have always been top-tier. Anything involving space was extremely powerful and practical.

"I presume you tracked the origin of these powers." Cadmus asked with a curious tone. There were no Elves in this world, so he was curious about the reason for the existence of the Elder Blood.

"Honestly, it wasn't difficult, especially when the sorceresses of Aretuza were involved in this matter." Yennefer didn't hide it and spoke in a calm tone. "The experiment was called Elder Blood and was a joint project with the Sea Sages of the City of Ny Sar, a city-state with Rhoynar origins, and the Sorceresses of Aretuza."

"The bearer of the Elder Blood is basically a weapon against Old Valyria. They used slaves with Valyrian blood and a lot of blood magic to build a living weapon with enormous destructive capabilities."

"However, as you may know, Ny Sar was destroyed. The Dragonlords destroyed the city-state until nothing but ashes and ruins remained." Yennefer shook her head and continued speaking. "The Elder Blood was a success, but there was a big problem."

"Placing so much power within a lineage in genetic information through blood magic is not stable enough, as it would need a trigger to fully awaken. Not to mention that this power is completely uncontrollable, as it did not come from a natural process like learning, as mages and sorceresses gain power." Cadmus spoke, his eyes shining with wisdom.

Yennefer nodded and continued speaking. "Still, despite this instability, the Sea Sages still managed to spread the Elder Blood among the slaves and sent them back to Old Valyria."

Cadmus couldn't help but sit up straight in his chair, showing a shocked expression. If he was right, Yennefer's next words would be simply shocking.

"Just as you can imagine, the Sea Sages wanted to destroy Old Valyria from within, and even knowing they wouldn't see that day, they died with crazy smiles on their faces." Yennefer said with a sigh. Never underestimate the hatred of an entire race; this was just one of several reasons why other civilizations disappeared over time.

"The Eruption of the Chain of Volcanoes in the Valyrian Peninsula..." Cadmus murmured, still shocked to learn that the Fall of Old Valyria, the Most Powerful Empire in the World, actually fell at the hands of some traumatized teenage girl.

"That's insane." Cadmus commented with a smile. He truly never thought such a thing existed. An entire empire fell simply due to a conspiracy in the shadows. Now he truly admired the Sea Sages of Ny Sar. They were truly geniuses!!!

"What do you want me to do, Milady?" Cadmus went straight to his question.

Yennefer hesitated for a moment, but, looking at Cadmus, she opened her mouth and spoke in a calm tone. "I want you to take her as an apprentice."

"I'm curious, why don't you teach the girl?" Cadmus was not surprised by her words, but he was curious as to why Yennefer herself wouldn't train the girl.

"The Rectoress of Aretuza and the Rector of Ban Ard have already become aware of the girl's existence. It wasn't once or twice that I had to flee far away to protect the girl from their hands." Yennefer said with a helpless tone. She was powerful, but, comparing her to the Grand Masters, she was no different from a slightly larger ant.

Just as Cadmus killed the rest of the mages Stregobor brought with extreme ease.

In other words, she was too weak to protect the girl.

Cadmus thought with a pensive look; his finger tapped rhythmically on the armrest of the chair. Having the girl as an apprentice was tempting, truly tempting. But was it worth it? Would the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

After thinking for a moment, Cadmus realized he was worrying too much. He was already an enemy of Ban Ard, he didn't care about one more enemy.

"There's still one doubt, why me?" This was Cadmus's biggest doubt. It was the first time they had met, and even with Triss talking about him, it was nothing more than a vague and incomplete description. How could Yennefer trust him?

Not to mention that he was also a mage. Cadmus presumed that the Rector of Ban Ard and the Rectoress of Aretuza wanted to possess the power of the Elder Blood and would do anything to achieve such a thing. Even if it cost an innocent life.

However, Cadmus was also a mage, how could Yennefer believe he wouldn't do the same thing?

"Originally, I just came to observe you before asking you to take Cirilla as an apprentice, but I changed my mind as soon as I saw you and your conversation about protecting your wife." Yennefer replied in a calm tone. Honestly, she didn't want to do this, but she simply couldn't keep running anymore.

The hunts for them were already happening across the continent of Essos and Sothoryos. Fleeing from two magical academies was incredibly exhausting, not to mention she almost died a few times trying to protect Ciri.

She needed someone strong enough to make Ban Ard and Aretuza hesitate to attack. Ciri just needed time to grow, and when her powers fully blossomed, the girl could be safe even in the face of Ban Ard.

After hearing Triss's description of Cadmus and his power, this idea took shape in her mind, but only after meeting Cadmus did she feel more confident. She was about seventy years old, had seen many people in this world, and had confidence in her ability to assess people.

Cadmus Peverell, the Court Mage of the Seven Kingdoms. This person became famous some time ago, burning Duskendale.

Someone so powerful who didn't seize power or even cause bloodshed was as rare as a phoenix, showing that he was not someone greedy for power or a killer who killed for nothing.

Yennefer was even surprised that Cadmus hadn't killed the enemy army, truly showing that he was not a murderous monster.

"I have a good eye for people." Showing a seductive smile, Yennefer spoke in a mysterious tone, laced with a touch of flirtation and seduction.

Cadmus raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Since you trust me, my castle needs a sorceress to manage it; you can work for me. It would protect both you and Cirilla."

"Of course, the pay is great, plus you get to see the most handsome man in Westeros daily. I'd say this proposal is one in a thousand years." Cadmus said with an amused laugh.

Triss, behind Yennefer, couldn't help but roll her eyes. However, the most repugnant thing was that she couldn't deny the second part of his proposal. The bastard was indeed very handsome. Waking up and seeing that beautiful face daily could work wonders on any woman's mind.

"Will my freedom be affected?" Yennefer frowned and asked in a calm tone. The proposal was tempting, especially seeing that beautiful face, but she wouldn't casually sacrifice her freedom.

"Don't worry, you'll leave the castle whenever you want, though you'll have to ask permission to re-enter. After all, you might bring some rats into my castle." Cadmus spoke with a smile.

Yennefer found Cadmus's direct words not unpleasant at all, she just felt it was natural. If she were in Cadmus's shoes, she might even put a tracking spell on her.

"I accept your proposal, my lord." Yennefer spoke in an elegant and graceful tone; her hair, which was black as a raven's feathers, only made her appearance more mysterious and naturally seductive.

"Great, bring the girl as soon as possible." Cadmus clapped his hands and spoke in an incredibly satisfied tone. He simply gained an incredible apprentice without lifting a finger. One could say he was incredibly satisfied.

Suddenly, Cadmus's face changed, and he looked in a specific direction. In his senses, two gigantic waves of energy collided with each other.

He recognized one of the magical auras; it was Kinvara, the High Priestess of the Great Temple of Volantis!

There was only one thing that could make Kinvara attack personally: the Faith of the Seven!!!

"It seems the Faith of the Seven has settled their scores and started attacking." Cadmus murmured with a smile.
