Chapter 306 - Across the World

Morning sunlight reflected brightly off the calm waters of the New World.

Sailing smoothly away from the borders of Wano, the Thousand Sunny rode the gentle ocean currents. The raid felt like a distant memory, replaced by the peaceful life at sea. Seagulls cried in the clear sky above the sails, their calls mixing with the splashing of waves against the wooden hull.

A sharp squawk interrupted the quiet morning.

Circling high above the mainmast, a News Coo carrying a heavy leather satchel swooped downward. Dropping a thick bundle of rolled newspapers and freshly printed wanted posters onto the grassy deck, after taking a coin, the bird offered a quick salute before flying back into the clouds to complete its delivery route.

Resting near the railing, the sniper immediately abandoned his fishing rod.

"The new bounties are here!" Usopp shouted, scooping up the bundle.

The announcement triggered an immediate stampede. Doors slammed open. Footsteps pounded across the deck as the crew scrambled out of the galley, the library, and the crow's nest, converging on the grassy lawn. Unrolling the thick stack of parchment, the sniper spread the posters across a wooden barrel for everyone to see.

Anticipation hung heavily in the air. Taking down two Emperors of the Sea guaranteed a adjustment in their threat levels.

Pushing his way to the front, Chopper eagerly scanned the parchment. Finding his own face on a newly printed poster, the reindeer's smile dropped instantly, replaced by a look of despair.

"Three hundred Belli?!" Chopper shrieked, tears welling in his eyes. "I cured an virus! I held the line against Queen! Why am I still just a pet?!"

Patting the crying doctor gently on the head, Robin smiled serenely. Unrolling her own poster, the archaeologist noted the updated photograph. "It seems the World Government considers my ability to read the Poneglyphs a greater threat now. One billion Belli."

"Nine hundred million for me!" Nami cheered, her eyes turning into glowing Beri symbols. "This is getting a bit dangerous, but having a bounty this high makes negotiating prices much easier."

Standing beside the navigator, Vivi picked up a poster bearing her alias. Having fought alongside the crew, her Mythical Simurgh abilities had caught the attention of Marine intelligence.

"Ariel. Nine hundred million," Vivi read quietly, a proud smile touching her lips. Beside her, Carue puffed out his feathered chest, pointing a wing at his own newly issued poster. "Thirty million Belli. Good job, Carue."

Sitting on a barrel, Franky struck a super pose. "Nine hundred and fifty million! Almost at the billion mark! A fitting reward for a cyborg of my caliber!"

"Yohohoho!" Brook laughed, inspecting his own sheet. "Nine hundred and fifty million for a simple musician. The World Government certainly appreciates my performances."

Chewing on a slice of pizza, Bonney glanced at her updated sheet. "One point four billion. Not bad for crashing a party."

The Elbaf warriors checked their poster for them. Dorry and Brogy laughed heartily, finding their bounties updated to 1.5 billion each. Oimo and Kashii shared a satisfied nod, resting comfortably at an even 1 billion apiece.

Then came Carrot bounty which updated to one hunderd and fifty million who had a smile on her face seeing that.

Merry and Sunny, peered over the sniper's arm to look at the parchment. They both had been issued individual bounties of 100 million Belli, their adorable, smiling faces plastered across the front.

"We went up!" Merry cheered, jumping up and down.

"We are in big leagues now!" Sunny agreed.

The cheerful atmosphere shifted slightly as the sniper unrolled the final, most prominent stack of papers.

"Okay, let's see the heavy hitters," Usopp muttered, spreading the posters flat.

Sanji leaned over the barrel, locating his own name. "Two billion Belli," the cook noted, exhaling a puff of smoke. A satisfied smirk crossed his face. Breaking through the two-billion threshold cemented his status as an elite commander.

"Move over, curly-brows," Zoro grunted, pushing past the chef to look at his own sheet.

Finding his poster, the swordsman offered a grin. "Two point one billion. Looks like the Marines know who the number two is."

The rivalry flared instantly.

"It is a rounding error, you lost marimo!" Sanji snapped, blue flames sparking on his shoe. "I defeated Queen without breaking a sweat! You nearly died fighting King!"

"Quality over quantity," Zoro shot back, resting a hand on Wado Ichimonji. "My opponent was stronger. Deal with the reality."

Ignoring the familiar bickering, Usopp unrolled the next sheet.

The sniper's eyes bulged out of his skull. The jaw of the long-nosed pirate hit the grassy deck with a comical thud. Hands shaking violently, he held up his own wanted poster for the crew to see.

"Three... three billion Belli?!" Usopp shrieked, his voice cracking three octaves higher than normal.

The mind-boggling number sat squarely beneath the moniker 'God' Usopp.

"I am worth three billion?!" the sniper wailed, clutching his head in terror. "Every bounty hunter in the New World is going to hunt me down! I need to hide in a barrel for the rest of my life!"

Stepping out from the galley, the magician picked up the next poster.

Adjusting his sunglasses, Ben inspected the bounty.

"Edgar D. Benjamin," Robin read over his shoulder. "Four billion Belli."

The number drew gasps from the surrounding crew. Eclipsing the bounties of almost every known pirate outside the Emperor ranks, the World Government had recognized the reality of the magician's spatial manipulation, technological prowess, and dismantling of an Admiral.

"A reasonable assessment," Ben noted casually, folding the paper and tucking it into his pocket.

Finally, the captain's poster revealed itself.

Sitting on the figurehead, Luffy stretched his neck all the way to the barrel to get a closer look. The photograph captured the moment of his awakening, showcasing the brilliant white hair and the wide grin of Gear Fifth.

"Four point five billion!" Chopper cheered, instantly forgetting his own misery to celebrate the captain.

However, the value of the bounty was overshadowed by the headline dominating the front page of the World Economy News Paper.

Grabbing the newspaper, Nami read the bold, black ink aloud for the deck to hear.

"The Balance of Power Shifts! The Old Era Crumbles!" the navigator read, her voice steady. "With the fall of Kaido and Big Mom, the World Government has officially recognized the restructuring of the highest pirate authorities. Welcome to the era of the New Five Emperors!"

The crew fell silent, listening intently.

"The Five Emperors," Nami continued, tracing the names with her finger. "Red-Haired Shanks. Fire Fist Ace. Marshall D. Teach. Monkey D. Luffy. And... Buggy the Star Clown."

Blinking in surprise, the rubber captain tilted his head.

"Buggy?!" Zoro muttered, scratching the back of his head in confusion. "How did that idiot manage to fail his way to the top of the world?"

Looking out over the open ocean, the captain pulled his straw hat firmly onto his head.

The dawn had arrived, and the world was about to feel the heat of the rising sun.

The ripples of the new bounties spread across the globe with terrifying speed.

In the quiet, peaceful East Blue, the door of the Partys Bar swung open. Makino carried a tray of drinks to a table of cheering villagers. Unrolling the latest newspaper, Dadan, the gruff mountain bandit, stared at the picture of the white-haired captain. Tears streamed freely down the bandit's rough face, falling onto the parchment.

"That idiot brat," Dadan sniffled, wiping her nose with her sleeve. "He really went and did it. He became one of the greatest pirates in the world. Ace and Luffy, both Emperors. Garp is going to have a stroke."

On a calm island nearby, a young medical student walked out of a sprawling mansion.

Kaya held the wanted poster of the long-nosed sniper in trembling hands. Seeing the three-billion Belli reward, her eyes widened in shock. A soft smile graced her lips. The cowardly boy who had told tall tales on the village fences had finally turned his lies into reality.

In the Grand Line, the floating restaurant Baratie was packed with hungry sailors.

Bursting out of the kitchen, Zeff kicked the wooden door open. The old chef pinned a freshly printed wanted poster to the bounty board near the entrance. Staring at the two-billion Belli reward attached to the face of his former sous-chef, Zeff crossed his arms.

"Still an arrogant little brat," Zeff grunted, a fierce, undeniable pride shining in his eyes. "But I suppose his cooking isn't terrible anymore."

Deep within the New World, on a deserted, rocky island, the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates gathered around a crackling campfire.

Sitting on a large boulder, Portgas D. Ace stared at the newspaper. The flames of the Mera Mera no Mi danced lightly across his fingertips. Seeing his little brother declared an Emperor, a wide grin crossed his face.

"He caught up," Ace laughed, tossing the newspaper to Marco. "I told you he would, Marco. The kid never knows when to stop."

"It seems the new era belongs to you two," Marco smiled, leaning back against the rocks.

Far across the sea, on the gloomy, circus-themed island of Karigari, panic consumed the headquarters of the Cross Guild.

Sitting on an ornate, gaudy throne, Buggy the Clown wept uncontrollably.

"I am an Emperor?!" Buggy shrieked, clutching the newspaper. "Why?! I didn't do anything! Mihawk is going to kill me! The Marines are going to send an entire fleet to murder me! I just wanted to look for treasure!"

Standing in the shadows behind the throne, Dracule Mihawk cleaned his massive black blade. The former Warlord stared at the weeping clown with expressions of exhaustion. The figurehead he had installed to absorb Marine attention had somehow failed upwards into the highest echelon of the pirate world, dragging them into the crosshairs of the impending global war.

While the pirate world celebrated the shifting power dynamics, a much darker, far more chaotic reality unfolded across the Calm Belt.

The Reverie had concluded days prior, leaving a trail of shattered political alliances in its wake. The most significant, immediate consequence of the global summit was the abolition of the Seven Warlords system. The World Government had officially revoked the pardons of the powerful pirates, turning former allies into high prioritized targets.

Marine fleets mobilized instantly, dispatched to every corner of the world to hunt down the newly reinstated criminals.

A massive armada of battleships surrounded the rocky coasts of Amazon Lily.

The island of women, long protected by the fearsome reputation of the Kuja Pirates and the treacherous waters of the Calm Belt, found itself under heavy siege. Cannon fire echoed across the dense jungle, shattering the stone architecture of the city.

Standing on the deck of the lead battleship, Marine Captain Koby gripped the railing tightly.

The young officer wore a crisp Marine uniform, a stark contrast to the anxiety churning in his stomach. Taking down Boa Hancock, the Pirate Empress, was a monumental task. Adding to his internal conflict, Koby knew well that Hancock was a close, loyal ally of his friend, Luffy.

"Captain Koby, the Kuja warriors are holding the shoreline," a subordinate reported, saluting sharply. "They are utilizing Haki-infused arrows. Our frontline forces are taking heavy casualties."

"Hold the line," Koby ordered, stepping away from the railing. "Deploy the Seraphim. We need to break their defenses without destroying the island."

From the lower decks of the battleship, the World Government's newest, most terrifying weapons emerged.

The Seraphim did not resemble standard Marine soldiers. They possessed the appearance of small children, yet their physical traits were unnatural. Dark skin, white hair, and black wings marked them as artificial creations, possessing the genetic traits of the ancient Lunarian race combined with the abilities of the former Warlords.

Stepping onto the rocky beach, the child-like constructs moved without emotion.

Firing highly concentrated laser beams from their palms, the Seraphim tore through the Kuja defense lines. The durability of seraphim rendered the Haki-infused arrows useless. The weapons bounced harmlessly off their skin as the artificial weapons pushed relentlessly into the jungle.

Watching the Kuja warriors fall back, Boa Hancock stepped out of the palace gates. The Pirate Empress radiated fury. The invasion of the sacred homeland and the arrogance of the Marines pushed the situation past the point of negotiation.

"Leave this island at once," Hancock commanded, pointing a finger at Koby.

Holding his ground, the young captain raised his hands in a placating gesture, wanting to avoid a battle. "I cannot do that, Hancock-san," Koby replied, his voice steady. "You are a wanted criminal. Please, surrender peacefully."

Refusing to be taken prisoner, the Empress moved with blinding speed. Sweeping long legs in devastating, graceful arcs, a barrage of attacks rained down on the invaders. Every single Marine soldier caught in the crossfire, including Vice Admiral Yamakaji, turned instantly into solid stone. The statues shattered against the rocky ground.

Before the dust could settle, massive chunks of the island's foundation lifted into the sky. The Marine warships surrounding Amazon Lily floated high into the air before crashing back into the surf. A roar echoed across the bay as Marshall D. Teach entered the fray.

"Zehahaha!" Blackbeard roared, his hand glowing with the power of the Fuwa Fuwa no Mi.

Smashing aside Marines and Seraphim with levitated boulders, the Emperor charged into the chaos. Black smoke billowed from his other hand, consuming everything in its path.

Spotting the intruding pirates, Hancock did not hesitate.

Perfume Femur!

Unleashing another wave of petrifying kicks, the Empress turned Blackbeard's advancing commanders into lifeless stone statues.

Furious at losing his crew, Teach lunged forward. Utilizing the terrifying power of the Yami Yami no Mi, a swirling vortex of darkness gathered in his palm.

"Black Hole!"

Thrusting a hand forward, the gravitational pull absorbed the momentum of the incoming kick. The moment skin made contact, the unique property of the Darkness fruit activated.

Hancock felt the Devil Fruit power vanish instantly. Taking advantage of the sudden vulnerability, Blackbeard grabbed the Warlord by her slender throat. Lifting the captive off her feet, the massive pirate squeezed tightly. Gasping for air, Hancock struggled against the overwhelming grip, unable to break the hold without her abilities.

"Zehahaha! I have you now!" Teach gloated, preparing to claim the Mero Mero no Mi.

Standing a few yards away, Koby gritted his teeth. Duty demanded the capture of the Warlord, but allowing a vicious Emperor to murder her violated every moral principle the Marine held dear.

Before a desperate intervention could be launched, a sudden, suffocating pressure washed over the entire island. The weaker Marine soldiers collapsed instantly, foaming at the mouth. Kuja warriors dropped to their knees, gasping for breath. A massive wave of Supreme King Haki swept across the battlefield.

Stepping calmly onto the bloodstained ground, a lone figure approached. A long sword rested casually against his shoulder. The hair of the newcomer was not the stark, distinguished white of an old man, but a vibrant, youthful blonde. Due to the potion provided by the magician, Silvers Rayleigh had shed the burden of old age, returning to the peak of his prime.

Teach froze. The grip on the Warlord's throat loosened slightly.

Staring at the blonde hair and unscarred face, a primal terror gripped the Emperor's heart. Having served on Whitebeard's ship for decades, Blackbeard remembered what the Dark King looked like in his prime.

"Rayleigh?!" Teach gasped, his voice cracking. "How... you look like you did thirty years ago!"

Lowering the sword, the former right hand of the Pirate King locked a sharp gaze onto the pirate.

"Let her go, Teach," Rayleigh commanded quietly.

Calculating the situation, Blackbeard realized fighting the Dark King in his prime was a guaranteed death sentence. Releasing his grip, Teach dropped Hancock onto the rocky ground.

Spotting the young Marine captain nearby, the Emperor moved with surprising speed, grabbing Koby by the collar of his uniform.

"I am not leaving without a prize!" Blackbeard laughed nervously, using the officer as a human shield as he backed away. "This Marine hero will make a fine bargaining chip!"

Standing firm, Rayleigh raised the sword slightly.

"Take the boy and leave," the Dark King stated. "But hear me well, Teach. The next time you step foot on this island, be ready to lose your legs."

Rayleigh unleashed another condensed, overwhelming wave of Conqueror's Haki at the retreating Emperor. Sweating profusely under the crushing weight of the invisible attack, Blackbeard scrambled backward toward the shoreline, fleeing the island as quickly as possible with the captive Marine.
