Chapter 305 - Wano - 39

Stepping through the fading edges of a spatial tear, the magician returned to the desolate plains of the Udon region. The smog that had choked the air for two decades was already thinning, replaced by the cool, crisp breeze of the changing seasons.

A soft glow illuminated the horizon.

Following the light, Ben walked across the rocky terrain. The cracked, poisoned earth crunched softly beneath his boots. Reaching the edge of a sluggish, polluted river, he found the source of the illumination.

Vivi stood near the riverbank, her arms outstretched.

The majestic azure wings of the Mythical Simurgh extended fully from her back. Feathers of pure, glowing light drifted downward, settling against the barren soil and the murky water. The flames did not burn. Spreading rapidly across the landscape, the magical fire acted as a catalyst.

Where the azure light touched the river, the thick, chemical sludge dissolved. The water cleared, returning to a pristine, sparkling blue. Along the banks, fresh green shoots pushed through the cracked dirt, blooming into vibrant patches of wild grass and small flowers in a matter of seconds.

Lowering her arms, the princess let out a exhausted sigh. The massive wings folded seamlessly back into her shoulders, vanishing from sight.

"You are pushing yourself," Ben noted, stepping onto the newly grown grass.

Turning around, Vivi offered a tired but genuine smile. Wiping a bead of sweat from her forehead, she accepted the canteen of fresh water the magician handed her.

"The country needs to heal," the princess replied, taking a long drink. "My Devil Fruit awakening speeds up the natural restoration cycle, but the pollution ran deep. I have been working my way down from Kuri for the past three days."

"The results are undeniable," Ben praised, looking out over the revitalized landscape.

Utilizing his own spatial magic and terraforming technology, the magician had spent the days following the raid filtering the airborne toxins and neutralizing the heavy metals buried in the bedrock. Combined with the life-giving properties of the Simurgh flames, Wano was experiencing an accelerated rebirth.

The toxic wasteland was gone. The country of gold had finally reclaimed its natural beauty.

"Take a break," Ben suggested, adjusting his dark glasses. "The ecosystem can handle the rest of the recovery naturally from here."

Nodding in agreement, Vivi capped the canteen. The burden of restoring the environment had required immense focus, but the satisfaction of seeing clean water flow through Udon made the exhaustion worthwhile.

Next day, Big Mom pirates have accepted Ben's offer and joined Strawhat grandfleet, Ben had transfered them to Whole Cake Island at the same time.

A few days later, the morning sun shone brightly over Tokage Port.

The harbor was packed. Citizens from the Flower Capital, former prisoners of Udon, and residents of the surrounding villages had traveled to the coast to witness the departure of the allied forces.

Anchored near the stone piers, the Thousand Sunny bobbed gently in the clear water.

The deck of the beloved galleon was crowded with the newly expanded crew. Luffy sat on the figurehead, his trademark straw hat pulled low against the morning glare. Zoro slept peacefully against the mainmast, ignoring the noise. Sanji bustled around the galley, securing the crates of fresh Wano produce delivered by the grateful citizens.

Near the railing, Nami and Robin checked the navigation charts, charting the course out of the treacherous coastal waters. Usopp, Chopper, and Franky are talking about what their next destination could be. Brook hummed a quiet, cheerful tune, tuning his violin while Bonney chewed on a massive skewer of roasted meat.

Merry and Sunny ran across the grassy deck.

Standing near the aft of the ship, Carue squawked happily, stretching his wings in the ocean breeze.

Two new additions to the crew finalized their preparations.

Carrot adjusted the strap of her traveling bag, her rabbit ears twitching with excitement. The captain had extended an official invitation to join their travels, and the Mink warrior had accepted without a second thought, eager to see the rest of the world beyond the back of the giant elephant.

Beside her, Yamato took a deep breath of the salty ocean air.

The horned warrior wore simple, comfortable traveling clothes. Having witnessed the restoration of the country's rivers and forests, the heavy burden of duty had lifted. Wano was safe, vibrant, and capable of defending itself. The time had come to set out to sea and follow the path Kozuki Oden had forged decades ago.

Looming over the pier, Dorry, Brogy, Oimo, and Kashii stood behind luddy. The four Elbaf giants waited patiently.

Gathered on the stone docks, the leadership of Wano had come to bid their saviors farewell.

Kozuki Hiyori stood beside Shimotsuki Yasuie, the former Daimyo smiling brightly. Holding her father's hand, was Otoko. Boss Hyogoro crossed his arms, nodding respectfully toward the pirate ship.

Lining the edge of the pier, the Nine Red Scabbards offered a bow.

"We owe you a debt that can never be repaid," Kin'emon called out, his heavy bandages replaced by a clean, crisp kimono. "The borders of Wano remain closed for now, but should you ever require our blades, the samurai will answer the call."

Standing in front of his retainers, the young lord Momonosuke gripped the hilt of his wooden training sword.

The child Shogun looked up at the figurehead of the galleon. Tears welled in his eyes, but he quickly wiped them away with his sleeve, refusing to cry in front of the captain.

"Luffy!" Momonosuke shouted, his small voice carrying across the water. "I will become stronger! I will protect this country! I promise you, I will become a great warrior of Wano!"

Leaning over the carved lion's head, the rubber pirate offered a wide, massive grin.

"I know you will, Momo!" the captain laughed, pointing a thumb at his own chest. "Keep practicing! I will be waiting for you out on the sea!"

Standing next to the young Shogun, Otama clutched her woven hat.

"I am going to train hard too, big brother!" the little girl promised, her eyes shining with determination. "I will master my ninjutsu! I will become a great kunoichi! And then I will join your crew!"

"Work hard, Tama!" Luffy cheered, waving his arms wildly.

The anchor chains rattled loudly.

"Set sail!" Nami ordered from the upper deck, feeling the wind shift favorably.

The sails unfurled, catching the morning breeze. The Thousand Sunny pulled away from the stone docks, drifting smoothly out into the deeper waters of the inlet.

Standing along the railing, the entire crew raised their hands, waving enthusiastically to the crowd left behind. Yamato shouted a final goodbye to the Scabbards, while Chopper tossed a small bag of specialized medicine down to the local doctors.

The citizens of Wano cheered, raising their arms and waving until the colorful galleon disappeared into the morning fog, embarking on the next leg of their journey.

Navigating the choppy waters near the edge of the island, the Thousand Sunny caught up with a familiar yellow vessel.

The Polar Tang cruised slowly through the waves, matching the pace of the galleon. Standing on the exterior deck of the submarine, Trafalgar Law leaned against the metal railing. Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin stood behind the surgeon, waving excitedly at the Straw Hat crew.

"Looks like this is where we split up, Torao," Luffy called out, leaning over the wooden railing of his ship.

Adjusting his spotted hat, Law offered a smirk. The alliance had achieved the impossible, toppling two Emperors and changing the balance of the world. The goal was accomplished, and the time for shared paths had ended.

"Do not expect any favors the next time we meet, Straw Hat," the surgeon warned, though the threat lacked any real hostility. "We are rivals for the One Piece now."

"I wouldn't have it any other way!" the rubber captain laughed loudly.

"Good luck, Trafalgar!" Robin called down from the upper deck, offering a polite wave.

Nodding slightly in acknowledgment, Law turned his back on the galleon, signaling his crew to prepare for descent.

"Dive," the surgeon ordered.

The heavy metal hatches of the Polar Tang sealed shut. The yellow submarine sank smoothly beneath the churning waves, disappearing into the dark depths of the ocean to forge its own path through the New World.

With the rival crew gone, the Thousand Sunny approached the waterfalls guarding the borders of the country.

"Hold on tight, everyone!" Franky shouted from the helm.

"Thrusters engaged!"

A massive blast of compressed air erupted from the aft of the galleon.

The Thousand Sunny shot out of the water. Clearing the lip of the towering waterfall, the ship flew through the air, soaring high above the crashing ocean waves below.

Cheering wildly, Luffy threw his arms into the air as the ship descended gracefully toward the open sea, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them on the final stretch of the Grand Line.

Far across the world, inside the heavily fortified walls of New Marineford, the atmosphere was thick with rage.

The temperature in the Fleet Admiral's office soared. The heavy wooden desk smoldered, the edges catching fire as magma dripped slowly from Sakazuki's clenched fists.

Standing at attention near the doorway, a terrified Marine captain delivered the final intelligence report.

"The communications are confirmed, sir," the captain stammered, saluting rigidly. "Admiral Ryokugyu has returned from the Udon region. He is currently recovering in the medical bay."

"And?" Sakazuki growled, smoke billowing from his mouth and nostrils.

Swallowing hard, the captain continued the briefing.

"The Admiral suffered a defeat," the subordinate reported, his voice shaking. "He did not engage the Straw Hat captain directly. He was intercepted by the crews Magician. Furthermore... the Admiral's Devil Fruit ability... the Mori Mori no Mi..."

"Spit it out!" the Fleet Admiral roared, slamming a magma-coated fist onto the burning desk.

"The ability was taken, sir," the captain finished, closing his eyes in fear. "The Admiral is stripped of his powers."

The silence in the office grew suffocating.

Sakazuki did not scream. The political and military disaster of the situation defied comprehension. Two Emperors had fallen in a single night. The World Government had lost contact with their elite assassins. And now, a Marine Admiral had been defeated and stripped of his power without causing a single casualty to the enemy forces.

The Navy had been humiliated on an unprecedented scale.

"Update the bounties," Sakazuki ordered, his voice dropping to a dangerously quiet, terrifying register.

"Sir?" the captain asked hesitantly.

"Update every single bounty of Strawhat and Heart Pirates!" the Fleet Admiral commanded, the magma on his arms flaring brightly. "Increase the rewards for Trafalgar Law and Monkey D. Luffy immediately. I want the Straw Hat crew designated as top-tier threats to the World Government."

Standing up from his ruined desk, Sakazuki glared out the window toward the ocean.

---

Thousands of miles away, hidden deep within a remote island in the Paradise half of the Grand Line, a small wooden cabin sat nestled among dense, protective trees.

The safe house remained off the grid, undetectable by Marine patrols or World Government surveillance.

Inside the modestly furnished living room, a soft pop of displaced air signaled an arrival.

Stepping out of the spatial tear, Vivi materialized in the center of the room. The princess carried a large basket. The rich, mouth-watering aroma of roasted sea king, seasoned rice, and fresh vegetables filled the quiet cabin.

Sitting in a comfortable armchair near the fireplace, Nefertari Cobra looked up from a thick book.

Standing near the window, Pell and Chaka turned from their guard duties, offering respectful bows to their princess.

"Vivi," Cobra smiled warmly, setting the book aside. "You have returned."

"I brought dinner," the princess announced cheerfully, setting the heavy basket onto the central wooden table.

The two royal guards moved quickly to assist, unpacking the warm containers and setting the table. The quiet routine provided a sense of comfort for the exiled royal family.

Taking a seat at the table, Cobra accepted a bowl of steaming rice.

"Wano is free, then?" the King asked, picking up his chopsticks.

"Completely," Vivi confirmed, serving herself a portion of the roasted meat. "Kaido and Big Mom were defeated. The borders remain closed for now, but the country is safe. We are currently sailing away from the island."

A heavy silence settled over the table for a brief moment. The scale of the victory was monumental, but the underlying shadows looming over the world dampened the celebration.

Cobra and Neo Vivi had escaped Mary Geoise using the portkeys Ben had prepared for them, as Ben had already expected something like that will happened. Once they escaped Ben got a notification about Cobra using the portkey where he is transported to a safe house in one of the islands in Paradise.

"The King of the World," the older man murmured quietly. "Imu. To think the history of our world has been manipulated by a single immortal for eight hundred years."

"The Nefertari family refused to live among the Celestial Dragons," Vivi noted, keeping her voice steady. "We chose the surface. Because of that choice, Imu considers us traitors to the bloodline. That is why they ordered your execution during the Reverie."

Setting his chopsticks down, Cobra looked at his daughter. The bravery and resilience shining in her eyes filled him with immense pride. She was no longer just a princess; she was a hardened warrior, sailing with the crew destined to challenge the gods of the world.

"We cannot return to Alabasta," Cobra stated, accepting the reality of their exile. "Our presence would bring the wrath of the World Government down upon the citizens. We must remain hidden until this war is resolved."

"Ben promised to keep this location secure," Vivi reassured her father, reaching across the table to squeeze his hand. "No one can trace the portkeys. You are safe here."

"I do not fear for my own safety, Vivi," the King smiled softly. "I fear for yours. The path ahead of you is dangerous. The World Government will not hesitate to use their ancient weapons to silence the truth."

"I am not alone, Father," the princess replied. "I have my crew. And we have future Pirate King on our side. The dawn is coming, and I intend to fight for it."

Nodding slowly, Cobra squeezed his daughter's hand in return, finding solace in her unwavering conviction. The meal continued in quiet, comfortable conversation, the exiled King enjoying the brief, precious moments with his daughter before she returned to the front lines of history.

While the crew celebrated their departure on the deck of the Thousand Sunny, the magician isolated himself deep within the confines of his private spatial dimension.

The sprawling landscape of the pocket reality remained peaceful, the artificial sun casting a warm glow over the grassy hills.

Inside the central stone castle, Ben walked down a sterile, brightly lit corridor, entering a highly advanced, expansive laboratory. The room hummed with the quiet sound of cutting-edge machinery, a stark contrast to the medieval architecture of the exterior.

Walking over to a massive, reinforced worktable, the magician inspected the biological samples resting in stasis fields.

During the chaotic aftermath of the raid, before sealing the defeated commanders away, Ben had extracted small, precise genetic samples from the fallen Emperors. The DNA of Charlotte Linlin and Kaido possessed unique, terrifyingly durable biological structures.

Pulling up a holographic interface, Ben began to isolate specific genetic markers.

His goal was complex. Merry and Sunny currently relied on artificial Devil Fruits.

Ben intended to provide the ship avatars with permanent, biological independence.

He was not attempting to create mindless clones of the Emperors. He aimed to utilize the raw, underlying genetic blueprints—the absurd physicality of Big Mom and the inherent, monstrous durability of Kaido—as a foundational clay.

By stripping away the personal identities, memories, and specific features of the Yonko, he could harvest the raw biological potential to cultivate custom-grown, indestructible human vessels.

Transferring the souls of the ships into these perfected, permanent bodies would grant Merry and Sunny true, lasting humanity, free from the constraints of Devil Fruit.

Tapping the holographic screen, the magician isolated the cellular regeneration sequence from Kaido's sample, merging it carefully with the bone density markers extracted from Big Mom.

"The structural integrity is promising," Ben murmured to himself, analyzing the resulting data stream. "But the cellular rejection rate is too high. The two distinct genetic codes are resisting hybridization."

Picking up a small stylus, he adjusted the environmental parameters within the incubation chambers.

Utilizing the vast, combined knowledge of his scientific and magical templates, he introduced a stabilizing catalyst derived from Tony Stark's advanced biological engineering concepts.

The data stream on the monitor shifted, turning from a rapid, flashing red to a steady, calm green.

The cells stopped fighting each other. The hybridization process stabilized, beginning to multiply and form a cohesive, entirely new biological structure.

"That solves the rejection issue," Ben noted, saving the progress to the mainframe.

The work was painstaking and required precision. Cultivating a perfect, empty biological vessel capable of housing a living soul without burning out would take time. The initial cellular fusion was merely the first step in a long, complicated process.

Stepping back from the monitor, the magician watched the microscopic cells begin their slow, steady division within the stasis chamber.

The project would not be finished today, nor would it be completed tomorrow. It required careful monitoring and constant adjustments.

Shutting down the non-essential holographic displays, Ben turned away from the worktable. The genetic foundations were laid, and the incubation cycle had officially begun. For now, the process needed time to develop on its own.

Leaving the bright, sterile laboratory behind, the magician walked back through the quiet corridors of the stone castle, preparing to return to the real world and rejoin the crew as they sailed toward their next destination.
