On their way out of the Serpent Valley, Liu Xi studied Qing Lin closely. Her expression remained calm, her features soft with a gentle smile, as though what had just happened hadn't affected her in the slightest.
"Qing Lin," Liu Xi asked, "the Ancient Heaven Serpent isn't like ordinary creatures. How do you feel now? Any lingering effects?"
Qing Lin thought carefully before replying truthfully, "The Ancient Heaven Serpent isn't exactly under my control. It's more like it's attached itself to me. It has no consciousness, only a lingering killing intent. Fortunately, my Jade Snake Three-Flower Pupils can suppress it — so for now, it's stable."
'Even an Ancient Heaven Serpent lost its consciousness to time?' Liu Xi mused. 'It must have instinctively sought a compatible host — Qing Lin — to preserve its existence.'
'But I won't let it take advantage of her for nothing. Better to make it part of her strength. The Ancient Dragon Tomb on Dragon Island should be able to suppress that serpent's remnant. I'll take Qing Lin there when there's a chance.'
"If the Ancient Heaven Serpent's soul stirs again," Liu Xi said solemnly, "you tell me at once. Since it's fallen into your hands, it should obediently serve as your power. If it tries to act like a master or take control, we'll suppress it together."
Qing Lin's heart warmed. Her bright green eyes shimmered with affection as she stepped a little closer. "I understand, Young Master," she said softly.
Liu Xi chuckled. The encounter with the Ancient Heaven Serpent was a pleasant surprise — but the real objective was still the Dou Saint's relic.
"Zi Yan, the next step depends on you," he said. "The Beast Bone Mountain Range is vast, but since the relic hasn't yet fully manifested, we still have time."
Zi Yan's violet eyes glowed faintly. Invisible waves of spatial power rippled out from her graceful form.
"Mm. I've already started searching," she said. "If a hidden space truly exists within this mountain range, there's no way it can escape the perception of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe — not even a Dou Saint's space."
Over the next few days, Zi Yan spread her perception throughout the entire Beast Bone Mountain Range. With their combined Dou Zun strength, concealing their auras was effortless.
That was why the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe hadn't discovered their presence. The tribe had never cared much for this range anyway — not before the Dou Saint's relic began to show signs of surfacing.
Then, one day—
"I found it!" Zi Yan's excited voice snapped Liu Xi from his thoughts.
He followed her gaze. Under the clear blue sky, Liu Xi stood atop a towering tree, staring into the distance at a massive valley. It was littered with bones — far more than the surrounding areas.
Twisted beast skeletons lay in piles, forming a white sea of death. The sheer number of remains spoke volumes about the slaughter that had taken place here.
Yet, with his Spiritual Perception, Liu Xi couldn't sense anything unusual. The air was calm, the sky pristine — not the sort of place one would expect to hide a spatial dimension. He couldn't help but sigh inwardly. 'The perception of the Ancient Void Dragons truly is extraordinary.'
"To think a Dou Saint's relic could be hidden in a place like this," he murmured. "Zi Yan, can you open it?"
Zi Yan smiled faintly, violet light swirling in her eyes as she gazed at the empty air before her — as though she could see something invisible to others.
"No problem," she said. "You were right, Big Brother. The spatial seal here runs deep. If not for its instability — the strain between its internal space and the real world — even I wouldn't have sensed it."
"Right now, only someone above the Half Saint level could even detect traces of it."
Off to the side, Qing Lin looked astonished. She couldn't see any anomaly here at all, yet Zi Yan's gaze made it seem as if she were staring through reality itself.
'The Young Master's companions… not one of them is ordinary,' she thought, shaking her head in quiet admiration.
Zi Yan stepped forward gracefully, her expression turning solemn. "Big Brother, I'm going to begin," she said. "But this hidden space is already near collapse. Once I tear open a rift, the rate of collapse will accelerate."
Liu Xi nodded. "Understood. A thousand-mile dam falls from an ant's nest — the same principle applies here. Once it starts unraveling, we'll have limited time inside."
Zi Yan exhaled softly, then let out a low roar. A flood of violet light erupted from her body, washing over the sky. The clear air rippled like water, distorting as waves of energy shimmered across it.
Slowly, a faint curtain of light appeared in midair — a colossal door of illusion taking shape before them.
It looked fragile, as if a single touch would shatter it — yet the overwhelming aura it exuded pressed heavily against them. Even Liu Xi felt a hint of suffocation.
Of course, Zi Yan couldn't open it directly. The space had been created by a Dou Saint; the backlash alone would destroy her.
But she didn't need to open it. Her goal was simpler — to create a small passage for them to slip through.
Her violet hair fluttered wildly as she traced a finger through the air, cutting open a thin rift that crackled with spatial turbulence.
"Open!" Zi Yan cried.
The violet glow flared intensely. The narrow rift, which had begun to close, instead widened — enough for a person to pass through.
"Big Brother, hurry!" she shouted.
Liu Xi didn't hesitate. With a quick nod to Qing Lin, his figure blurred into motion, shooting into the crack like lightning.
Qing Lin followed right behind. She trusted both of them — and without pause, dove into the storming fissure.
The moment they disappeared, Zi Yan leapt in after them.
As soon as she entered, the spatial tear began to mend itself. But the massive, veil-like gateway didn't fade away.
The Dou Saint's relic, which should have appeared a year later, had been forcibly opened early. The already fragile space now lay torn and unstable — beyond repair.
An ancient, majestic pressure burst outward, spreading from the Beast Bone Mountain Range in all directions like a tidal wave.
The first to sense it were the countless magical beasts dwelling within the range. Alarmed, they gathered around the massive illusionary door until the valley was packed solid.
Some, more cunning than the rest, darted away toward nearby beast tribes — large and small — to deliver the news.
