After thinking it over a little more, I decided to accept Mr. Kuroda's invitation. He sent it to me at the last minute since the party is happening the day after tomorrow, on Sunday.
If the party were tomorrow, I would have had to decline the invitation because I need to go out to take some photos for a clothing brand.
After sending the email to Mr. Kuroda, I texted Rina and told her to add it to my schedule. I also asked her to add the meeting I'll be having with the director of the long-running *A Silent Voice* series to my schedule.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day.
After replying to all my emails, I opened Eiri's livestream for the first time in a long while.
'Isn't she supposed to be at school?' She has become quite famous recently and makes a lot of money from advertisements as well as her streams. She still has to go to school to take exams, just like I do.
"She's good," I said while watching her play a game called *Jump Prince*. It was identical to *Jump King* from my old world. There was even a timer in the corner of the screen. She was doing a speedrun.
There were more than four thousand people watching.
In this world, just like in my old one, four thousand viewers is a very good number. With that many viewers, you can make a living just by streaming. 'I wonder how many viewers I'd get if I started a stream on Twitch.'
Honestly, I'm curious.
I watched Eiri's stream for a few minutes before deciding to make a donation.
I donated one thousand yen using my pseudonym.
"Thank you, Aoi Haruki, for the donation... Wait, Aoi Haruki? Is that really you, Kyo?"
Eiri's eyes lit up. She looked excited. However, her chat immediately started laughing and saying things like:
[Kyo Evans? No freaking way that's him!]
[Why would Kyo Evans be here? He must be super busy! He's been releasing so many volumes lately!]
[Why would he donate to you? Aren't you guys friends? lol]
[You should send him a message and ask if he was the one who donated.]
I read all those messages and chuckled before making another donation. This time, it was five thousand yen.
[It's me, Eiri! I'd like to challenge you. Do you accept?]
The chat completely lost it and couldn't stop laughing.
Then, all of a sudden, a new message popped up on my Discord. I usually keep my status set to offline, but I read every message.
"I just sent you a message on Discord, Kyo. If it's really you, reply to me."
So I replied to her message.
[It's me.]
That was all I sent before closing Discord again.
"Oh, he replied to me on Discord. It's really him!"
The chat went wild. People started asking for proof, so she showed a screenshot of our brief exchange. After that, everyone in chat started believing her.
Then I typed something in chat.
[lol]
My Twitch username is KyoEvans1134 because someone had already "stolen" my name. So I sent Eiri a message on Discord asking her to give me VIP in her chat, and she did. Right afterward, a lot of people started tagging me.
[@KyoEvans1134 I'm your fan!]
[@KyoEvans1134 Give me a kiss! I love you!]
I couldn't hold back my laughter.
Then Eiri asked,
"So, what's the challenge?"
Instead of typing in chat, I made another donation.
[I've never played this game before, but I'm sure I can beat it faster than you do. If you want to accept the challenge, I can call you on Discord so we can start. I'm bored, so I figured this would be fun.]
Eiri listened to the TTS, thought for a moment, and then said,
"Ugh, you're good at everything you try to play... I don't know if I should accept. I've played this game so many times. If I lose to you, I'll be so embarrassed."
She genuinely looked nervous.
The chat immediately started calling her a coward.
After reading countless messages that only made her more irritated, Eiri finally accepted my challenge and called me on Discord. I answered immediately and said,
"Ready to lose?"
And just like that, our battle began!
Eiri's viewer count started climbing rapidly!
####
Almost two hours had passed since I joined the call with Eiri, and she now had over eight thousand viewers. More than half of them were here because of me. And of course, I put on a show!
The first time, I couldn't finish the game faster than Eiri. In fact, she completely destroyed me.
However, on the second attempt, I had already started getting used to the game.
By the third time we played, I managed to finish the game faster than she did, which made her really angry. Then we played again, and this time I finished it even faster.
"How is that even possible!? How can you learn any game so quickly?"
Everyone in chat was laughing. It was great entertainment for them to watch Eiri completely lose her mind.
"I don't know. I'm just good," I said, teasing her.
Then, before she could say anything else, I cut her off.
"Alright, I have to go now. My girlfriend's calling me~~"
"Oh, sure."
I hung up right afterward.
I looked at the chat, and everyone was still laughing. They also started talking about my relationship, though it was mostly comments like:
[It's so cute how he calls his girlfriend his girlfriend.]
That was the comment that stood out the most, even though it didn't really make any sense.
Then I sent Eiri a message on Discord.
[Sorry for making you mad. You've invited me to join your stream so many times over the past few days, and I thought it'd be fun.]
[Don't worry, I wasn't actually mad. But did your girlfriend really call you?]
[Yeah. She's inviting me to go out. We'll talk later.]
[Alright. See you tomorrow.]
[See you tomorrow.]
