We left the company, and the driver dropped us off at home. As soon as we said goodbye and went inside, my mother took a deep breath and then turned to me.

"What is this? What's going on? Isn't this a bit too much?"

I didn't understand, and she continued.

"You have a driver now, you know? And you also have a manager! Things are moving way too fast. On top of that, you got a role in a series!" my mother said happily.

She seems even happier than I am.

But she's right—today was pretty hectic.

I really didn't expect to "get" a driver and an agent so quickly. I thought only high-level artists would receive things like that. So far, I've only done a few photo shoots for a company.

"You're right, everything happened way too fast."

"But I'm sad—I should have recorded your audition to show your father. I wanted to keep it as a memory! I know, I'll talk to Mr. Rikuya—maybe there was a camera in that room!"

"But please don't do that."

"But I want to keep it as a memory. Don't stop me!"

"Alright, do whatever you want. I'm going to my room now to keep working. I need to get as much content done as possible. I still don't know when filming for my scenes will start, but it shouldn't take long."

"Wait, you're going to work? You should rest today and tomorrow. Today is an important day, and tomorrow is an even more important one! We should go out for dinner or something."

"I won't work tomorrow, and we can go out to celebrate my birthday, don't worry. But today I want to finish volume 13 of Oregairu and start volume 14."

"Alright, but don't overdo it. I'll talk about it with your father. We'll decide together where to go tomorrow during dinner, okay?"

"Okay." I smiled at my mother and went to my room.

Since I was born, I've never celebrated my birthday with a party—not even once. At most, my parents would buy a small cake and sing happy birthday to me.

I never had many friends, and I never met other members of my family.

My father's parents are dead. My mother's parents are alive, but they don't care about her or me… And both my parents have siblings, but they aren't close.

Our family is basically just the three of us.

Honestly, I like it this way. My parents don't seem to find it sad either.

We're actually a very happy family.

I took off the coat I was wearing and turned on my computer. I opened my email and saw that I had received several messages. Most of them were from fans who had somehow found my email and were trying to contact me.

This has been happening more frequently lately.

And the other emails were important.

One was from Mr. Kuroda, another from Kenji, the Shonen Jump editor.

But besides those two, there was another email marked as important.

"Toho? Isn't that the company producing the series I'll be in? Why did I get an email from them? This email is related to my work as an author."

But it wasn't just from Toho—it was a joint email with Studio Pierrot, an animation studio!

Yes, animation studios exist in this world with the same names as in my previous world, just like other companies—but the professionals working in them are different.

For example, Ghibli exists, but Director Miyazaki doesn't. Because of that, it's just an average studio.

That actually hurt a little to realize.

But back to the email:

It was very professional and came from someone in a high position within the company. It was basically a job offer.

Studio Pierrot wants to release an original movie next year, and they want me to be the screenwriter. "Is it common for them to contact famous writers to write films?"

I did some research and didn't find many cases.

I found a few instances of light novel authors writing the "script" for the anime adaptations of their own works. In most cases, it ended in failure. After all, writing a light novel is different from writing a script for an anime or film.

Writing for anime or film must be more challenging.

"What should I do? Should I accept this job?"

There are some movies I could recreate from my previous world, like films by Makoto Shinkai.

Or I could write A Silent Voice as an original film. "I could change the ending—I felt it was a bit incomplete. The romance between the two protagonists could have progressed further. Maybe adding about 20 more minutes would be enough to develop that better."

After thinking for a while, I replied to the email asking for more details.

Things like the budget, the type of work they intend to create, and so on. I asked them to respond as soon as possible.

After that, I checked Mr. Kuroda's email.

In it, he said he had shown the latest volume to all the editors at the company, and they all thought the same thing: the ending is a bit rushed, but perfect. That made me feel relieved.

I already expected that, but reading it still reassured me.

He also said that the announcement for volume 17 would be released soon and that I should be prepared. He mentioned that many news outlets would likely contact me for interviews.

As always, I told Kuroda to handle it and to refuse any interview requests.

Now, the Shonen Jump email…

He was just asking how I was doing and whether I was ready for the serialization of Dragon Ball…

The serialization will begin in about two months, and he's been sending emails almost every day. What an anxious guy.

I replied saying everything was fine, and then I started writing.

And just like that, a week passed.
