Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 - It doesn't make sense.

I'll post an extra chapter every 300 Power Stones. Good luck with that!

Goal for the next extra chapter: 499/600 (I think its impossible, right?)

After hearing that I'm the author Aoi Haruki, Rina became extremely restless and started bombarding me with questions. "How old were you when you started writing?" and "When will the last volume of Overlord be released?"

I expected many things—just not that she would be a fan of Aoi Haruki.

I have to admit… it was fun.

"I didn't know you were my fan."

"Hm… ahem…" Rina coughed, her face turning slightly red. "I started reading it when I was still a teenager, and I really loved the story. I still can't believe it… You're way too young!"

Rina was in shock—she simply couldn't believe it.

Well, I can understand why.

"I'm going to need some time to process this. I can't believe that Aoi Haruki is just a kid—a kid I'm managing, on top of that!" She held her forehead.

She seemed like she was starting to get a headache.

"I understand, but try to stay calm. There's no need to overreact."

"No need to overreact? Mrs. Evans, do you have any idea how big your son's work is? Do you know how famous he is and how good the story he created is? He's only 12 years old, you know?"

"Hehehe, Kyo really is impressive." My mother had already gotten used to my "genius," but Rina clearly hadn't.

"Huff~~ My head hurts." She sighed and held her head. "I can't believe this."

"Rina, you should keep your composure in front of Kyo."

"Daiki, you have no idea who he is, do you?" Rina asked.

"No, I have no idea."

"He's the author of the biggest novel released in Japan in the last 50 years. And he's only 12 years old! He started writing Overlord when he was, like… 4 or 5? It doesn't make sense—it just doesn't make sense."

"Oh? He does sound impressive. Even so, you should behave in front of him. Try taking a deep breath and calm down."

Well, Rina is still very young. She's only 22 and will turn 23 next year. She's just a young woman who has received shocking news—it's hard to stay composed.

"Alright, I'll try to calm down. But, author…"

"Please, call me Kyo. Only a few selected people know my real identity. I don't want it to leak by accident. I told you because you'll be working with me from now on. I'll also talk about this with Mr. Rikuya."

"Alright, Kyo… Could you give me your autograph later?"

"Ara?" My mother looked surprised at her request. "It's the first time I've seen someone ask for your autograph in person. Isn't that amazing, Kyo?"

"When we get to the company, I'll give you one."

"Thank you!"

Rina muttered things I couldn't quite hear and quietly laughed to herself throughout the entire ride.

I never imagined my manager would be someone… like this…

As soon as we arrived at the Amuse Inc. building, Rikuya was already waiting for us with a smile. He had already been informed.

"Congratulations, Kyo. As soon as you left the audition room, I received a call from Director Hayashida—he was very impressed."

"I just did what I had to do. I gave it my best."

"Now I'm jealous of those who were watching. Acting is one of my passions. Hayashida praised you so much that I'm curious."

"Well, you'll be able to see it when you watch the series." I gave him a smile.

"Hahaha!" He laughed loudly. "Now we need to take care of the contract, right? I'll handle that over the next three days."

"Alright."

I thought I would sign the contract right away, since they trusted me and had prepared it in advance—but that wasn't the case.

"And you, Rina—why are you so restless and staring at Kyo like that?" Rikuya finally noticed her behavior.

"About that…"

"I accidentally let some information slip. I need to talk to you about it, because in the future it might become an obstacle in my career as a model and actor."

After all, I don't intend to give up my career as a writer and artist.

There might be times when I skip events related to a series or movie just to write a new novel volume. I would do that without hesitation—no doubt about it.

So, I explained the situation to Rikuya.

After hearing everything, he didn't seem very shocked. In fact, he remained calm.

That bothered Rina. "How can you be so calm? He's Aoi Haruki, you know? Don't you know him?"

"Of course I do. My son is a fan." He smiled at me, and I smiled back.

"Then… how can you stay so calm? He's just a kid!"

"Rina, you're making a fuss for no reason. Kyo is a famous and talented author—so what? He's an artist in our company. We should treat him like any other artist. We can't lose our composure just because he's a famous author."

"..."

"In fact, this is even better. Just imagine how people will react when they find out that an actor like him is also the author of a famous work. I can only think about the future!"

Rikuya grew excited.

He was definitely already thinking of ways to use this information for marketing in the future—I could see it in his eyes.

"But please, Mr. Rikuya, Rina—don't tell anyone about this. For now, I don't want my identity to become public. I want to build these two careers separately… I know it'll be hard to keep it hidden forever, but I want to keep it secret for as long as possible."

"Don't worry, Kyo. We at Amuse Inc. will do everything we can to keep this information confidential. We'll make sure it doesn't leak—we could even pay journalists to keep quiet if necessary."

Ugh, just thinking about that gives me a headache.

"I appreciate it. So, Rina—that's why I don't want to keep my schedule too busy. I need time to write, after all."

"I understand… Don't worry, Mr. Kyo, your schedule will be free for the next few days. You can focus on your work as an author!" She gave me a big smile—the first genuine smile she had shown since we met.

This woman… she really is a passionate fan, isn't she?

So I took a piece of paper and gave her an autograph.

I've given autographs before as "Aoi Haruki," but only on special editions or posters. This is the first time I've given one in person as the author "Aoi Haruki."

It's an interesting feeling.

My manager turned out to be a fan of my work…

How funny.
