Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 - I'm going to write the final volume of Overlord.

I'll post an extra chapter every 300 Power Stones. Good luck with that!

IT'S PRETTY CLOSE!

When I woke up the next day, I finally took the time to check my email. That's when I realized I had received a message from someone else—not Mr. Kuroda. Normally, he's the only one who sends me important emails.

I do occasionally receive emails from brands and journalists asking for interviews, but I never respond to them.

The only interview I've ever done was four years ago, when I was just eight years old. Even then, it was only a written interview—I never actually spoke to the journalist. Back then, the first season of Overlord had just finished airing.

The email I received this time was from a Shonen Jump editor named Kenji.

He brought me very important news: after a thorough review by multiple editors, my work "Dragon Ball" had been selected as the winner. I was already expecting that—but not just because of the quality of the work.

I'm famous, after all. They definitely gave me the award because they know how talented I am and how many readers I can bring to the magazine.

I smiled and replied to the email.

He also asked for my bank account details to transfer the prize money and requested a meeting to discuss the story and the contract, since the series would begin serialization in the main magazine in a month.

The first chapter of Dragon Ball had already been published on Manga Plus along with the other entries in the contest.

I opened the website and saw Dragon Ball featured on the front page with a huge banner and my name prominently displayed. Then I opened Twitter and noticed I had a lot of new notifications, even though I hadn't posted in a long time.

Many accounts had tagged me to announce that "Dragon Ball" had been published on Manga Plus and would be serialized.

News spreads fast, doesn't it? I smiled ironically and retweeted one of the posts to confirm that it was true—that I'm the one drawing that manga, not someone else using my pseudonym.

But about the contract… should I meet this editor named Kenji?

I trust Mr. Kuroda, but I don't trust him yet.

What if he leaks my real age or my face? I don't want to deal with that problem right now.

Still, I replied to the email and told him to set a place for us to meet.

It'll be fine, right?

I might be doing something foolish, but sooner or later, people will discover my true identity.

I just wanted to grow a bit more in my career as a model/actor before that happens.

After replying to the email, I talked with my mom and dad while we had breakfast. The first thing my father said was, "I didn't know you wanted to publish a manga."

"I prefer books and novels over manga, but it's a huge thing in Japan, and I'm very talented at drawing. I thought it would be fun, since I have a lot of free time."

"Free time, huh?" My father laughed. "You're starting to overdo it, Kyo. Novels, modeling, and now manga? From what I know, manga artists have very tight deadlines and a pretty harsh lifestyle. Are you sure this is a good idea?"

"Your father's right, Kyo," my mother added. "I like supporting you in everything you do, but you'll overwhelm yourself if you keep doing so many things at once."

I smiled at them and said, "It's fine. I can finish a manga chapter in just one day, and I only need to publish one per week. It'll be okay."

I opened my status and noticed that my health was ranked C.

Unlike all my other attributes—including "Martial Arts," which is ranked S—my health still had a "low" rank.

I don't know what the average person's health rank is, but it's probably higher. Then again, it likely depends on the person. If someone smokes or drinks a lot, their rank would probably be lower.

Maybe my parents are right. I might end up having health problems if I keep pushing myself. They say burnout is something that can ruin your career.

I should keep eating well and going to bed early if I want to stay healthy.

And I should probably start going to the gym too. It's a good hobby.

After breakfast with my parents, I left home and headed to school.

Since it's Friday and I don't have classes over the weekend, I'll have plenty of free time.

I'll write the final volume of Overlord this week. Even if it doesn't end perfectly, I don't mind.

I just need to make the ending at least somewhat satisfying for my readers.

Nothing interesting happened at school again. The only difference was that people were paying even more attention to me after I changed my hairstyle.

I decided to start using the hairstyle that woman gave me from now on. My mom said it suited me really well.

And it was very easy to learn how to do it.

Because of that, the girls went crazy and started approaching me even more. But honestly, I'm so used to it that I don't even see it as anything "different."

As soon as I got home, I went straight to my room and threw myself onto the bed.

After resting for a while, I took a shower and sat down in front of my computer.

I opened a text file and started typing Volume 17 of Overlord.

I decided to write what I believed would be the best possible ending.

An ending where Nazarick completely destroys the Slane Theocracy and takes control of the entire world, forcing everyone to bow before them. And in doing so, Ainz loses the last remnants of his humanity.

To him, only the "NPCs" of his guild matter.

I think it's an ending that fits the core of the story, and I believe most people will like it. After all, Ainz was never a "good guy."

"Once I finish this volume, I never want to talk about Overlord again. I'm tired."
