Chapter 158 - Chapter 157: Recovery and Revenge

Kirishima gave a pant as he and his group walked into the office's main room. Two other groups were already there. "We fought a giant unstoppable tank animal that killed Anima's Kingdom and had to run from, what about you guys?"

"We fought a lovestruck hair saber that nearly killed us due to a bad matchup. Mineta and Ochaco are the most injured."

"I touched her ass… it was worth it." The pervert spoke in a happy daze, picking out spikes along with Sato. To each their own he guessed.

"I am so done with today… I went too ultra …" Ochaco muttered as she clutched her body. "I feel so dizzy and worn out."

"So much for being a quiet island." Todoroki muttered. "We barely got out of the situation unscathed."

"Are we the only ones that captured our guy?" Hagakure asked.

"Looks like it." Mina grinned. "Up top, gal pal! We won, with my acid and your ability to never feel ashamed about being naked." What the fuck?

"It's sad when that is completely true without exaggeration. Revelry in the dark." Tokoyami muttered.

"I'm on the winning team, assholes! In your face!" Everyone glared at Sero. "I'm not apologizing." He shrugged unashamedly.

"Hold on, hold on, we're still missing a couple key players here." Ojiro looked around. "Where's Bakugo and Iruma?"

"Guys!" Shoji arrived. Great, now they could suffer in harmony– "Move, now!" He shoved people out of the way, dropping… fuck . Iruma and Bakugo were injured badly. They were black and burnt, scars on their body.

"Iruma-kun!" Hagakure charged right at her unconscious crush. "What the hell happened to him!?" She yelled in great, shocked concern.

"He looks like he was hit with a fucking lightning bolt." Kaminari noted how the marks looked.

"They both were. The villain manipulated the weather and hit them both head on." He did WHAT!? "I was there when it happened." Momo looked down, dejected. "I could barely do anything…"

"Their hearts stopped at one point. I had to use vibrations to fix it." Jiro tiredly added in more unsettling news. "Even worse, the two leading the whole attack have multiple quirks without being Nomu."

"But… but that can't be…" Aoyama looked especially frightened by that revelation. "The only one capable of wielding multiple quirks is…."

"The leader, Nine, has a copy of All For One's quirk." Shoji finished grimly. "Not sure about the other guy …"

"Forget the villains!" Hagakure shouted. "We need to help them!"

"With what!?" Sero screamed in a panic. "None of us have the medical equipment or experience for something like a fucking lightning strike ."

"Not to mention all our communications have been cut off." Ochaco added. "Which means we can't get Recovery Girl or anybody with healing quirks." Damn it! These villains really put them in a corner here.

"I…I might have something that can help…." The class turned to the two kids that followed Momo's team.

"Katsuma, wait…." The girl tried to pull her brother back.

"Mahoro, they risked their lives to keep us both safe." The boy said firmly. "I have to at least try to help them."

"If you can do anything, please try." Hagakure begged. The boy walked up to the two, holding out his hand as a light began shining. The bodies started to regain their original look, dead skin peeling off and turning new.

"Whoa, that's a strong healing quirk." Sato observed.

"It's almost instantaneous." Mineta muttered. "I can't believe a little guy like him has it in him."

"It's a cell activation quirk, at least that's what dad says." The girl explained. "Dad has the same one, except his only works on one blood type, unlike Katsuma."

"Hey little dude, calm down, you're looking pale." Kirishima spoke to the now sick looking boy.

"No, you're pale!" The manly little healer shouted. "And spinning, and you have five heads. And I taste purple." Yeah he was definitely stressing his quirk.

"What's the ethical moment of pulling the cord on an innocent kid about to pass out healing two near death friends?" Mina asked exasperatedly.

"When we have no other choice but to pray to whatever god exists to give us luck." Hagakure said solemnly.

Nana watched something that concerned most of the users like nothing else. The black space of the universe turning gray. "He's barely holding on as it is." Nana lamented the circumstances.

"We're really lucky you know a healer." Dajiro smiled. "Isn't that right, Ninth?" He asked the phantasm blue silhouette, problem number two. "See, he agrees with me."

"I somehow doubt he would agree even if you begged him to." En rolled his eyes. "The healer is why we're in this problem in the first place."

"No, that's not it." Third muttered. "That would be the clone of a quirk. Your brother got his quirk cloned!" He shouted at Yoichi.

"The Nomu, the experiments, that's what it's all been leading to. All For One is trying to move his quirk into another body." Everyone shivered at the notion of an uninjured, fully powered All For One. "You know we have to kill him right?" Second asked.

"I've come to terms with it." Yoichi spoke, sighing. "I know there's no saving him … but that body may be innocent."

"Kid, you agree to kill All For One and all that use it right?" Second asked the silhouette, which looked more feral. "See, if the innocent moron agrees with it, then the point is mute."

"So what? We use the kid and all that repressed anger he feels to aim him like a gun?" Nana voiced her thoughts sternly. "How does that make us any better than the parents that used Iruma all his life?"

"Because it's All For One." Second argued. "I lived in a war against one immortal bastard, and now we might get a self-replicating army of them. Peace won't win us this fight."

"He reached out to Tomura Shigaraki, which led to him helping Ninth put the Suzukis away." Yoichi pointed out.

"And now Tomura Shigaraki is a moral high ground super villain putting hero society in jeopardy." Third spoke up bitterly before pausing. "… Then again the society is a bunch of crazy assholes to begin with, so no real loss."

"You know, I really, really thought I was doing the right thing when I gave up my son." Nana muttered. "But All For One was a conniving bastard wasn't he? He never was going to let my relatives live because I was a weirder of One For All …" She sat down, patted by Toshinori's golden Spector.

"Hey, don't worry about it." Daigoro grinned. "We can probably save the majority of the league. No sweat whatsoever. So what if they gained some street cred, they haven't gotten any new recruits."

"It's only a matter of time at this point." Third countered. "We're beyond the point of a simple fight of heroes and villains. There's no way the fight will end without an all out war breaking out."

"How are we gonna get into an all out war with seven people?" En asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Sixth, they got a doctor from Villain Factory." Daigoro tsked. "Crazy man I tell ya, absolute nutcase."

It was so frustrating. They could argue and speculate all they wanted, but in the end, all they were were spectators to Iruma's life. "We don't even know where Iruma is at the moment." She muttered.

"Oh, he's just in the great divide." … They all turned to Yoichi. "You know, the halfway point between here and the afterlife?"

"…" She turned to the unfinished vestige of the Ninth user. Nana's face softened. "I'm so sorry, Iruma. There's no amount of apologies I can give to make it up to you."

"I walked there once. Wasn't anything interesting compared to our world other than a few strange phenomena, so I stayed." He blinked. "Did no one else realize you can pass on?"

"…I see why Iruma hates this quirk." She started making her way out. "I'm going to visit my family and apologize." Hopefully she'd be able to fix one fucked up situation today.

==

Ochaco could only sit idly by Iruma's side as her crush and Bakugo laid down. Their heart rates were much more steady, and most of their burns were gone, but they showed no signs of waking up. Toru and her managed to keep any and all petty fighting to a complete halt until Iruma recovered.

"They're still sleeping?" Kirishima quietly asked as he walked in.

"Yeah …" She sighed. "What about Katsuma?" The boy passed out after a minute of non stop high rate healing.

"He's currently unconscious." The boy answered. "Right now they're interrogating the mummy guy for information." He shivered. "Our class is unnervingly effective at torture."

"I still write down ways I want to hurt Iruma's parents." Ochaco muttered dangerously. She'd crushed every bone in their bodies before sending them into the sun. "It never gets any easier for us, especially for Iruma."

"Yeah, guy's a real man for going on for this long without quitting." Kirishima agreed. "If it's not Bakubro yelling at me to get off my ass, it's Iruma's positivity that motivates me."

"Both of our class's top students are unconscious." Toru sighed. "Who knows how long it could be before they wake up. It could be hours, days…"

"I'm back first!" Bakugo suddenly shouted with a start, everyone jumping. Iruma came back a second later, blinking in confusion.

"….Or our class's competitiveness defies physics." Kirishima joked.

"Iruma-kun!" "Iruma!" Both she and her rival yelled out and enwrapped the boy in the tightest squeeze they could muster.

"Hurts! It hurts!" He shouted out in pain as both girls let go. "Why does everything tingle and sting?" He asked in whine.

"You got hit by lightning." Toru spoke, concern in her voice.

"The metal probably didn't help …" The boy looked over his bandages.

"The fact we survived at all was a fucking miracle." Bakugo muttered. "Thought I saw the afterlife."

"It was weird. I was in this white grassy field with Bakugo and The Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future." … the fuck?

"Wait, you has the dream with that rambling fucker to?" Bakugo looked surprised. "Who kept telling us random ass stories?"

"Yeah, the one about the Love Bunny was super weird. Did you also notice the giant koala…."

"…riding on the turtle that created the universe?" Bakugo finished, frowning in confusion. "Why was it smiling, what did he know?"

"… These guys had a life and death experience at the same time." Ochaco was stupefied. "Either they went so insane they shared the same hallucination, or the afterlife is real and they went to the same place."

"That's impossible." Toru spoke in disbelief. "Everyone knows Bakugo is gonna go to hell." Clearly the wrong thing to say at the moment.

"How about I send you there to make a complaint in person?" The boy twitched.

"Nah, it wasn't hell, more like some sort of limbo since we didn't die fully." Iruma said it like it was normal. "There was this skeleton with a Jamaican accent that lost a bet with two little kids and now…." Iruma paused his ranting. "Oh my god! Katsuma, Mahoro!" He got up, even as he looked hurt. "We have to help-"

She grabbed him, holding him back. "They're fine, we're all okay. You were the most damaged … the villains and us had to retreat."

"So the All For One copycat didn't get Katsuma's quirk … good." Oh shit, Bakugo remembered a name. That's bad for how mad he is. Very, very mad. "That means we can still murder that son of a bitch."

"We're working on it." Kirishima helpfully spoke up. "No offense Bakugo, but we need all hands on deck for these guys. One of the guys shrugged off Todoroki with his natural quirk."

"My team and I could barely get a scratch on Slice. It was like Ibara but a lot more pointy." Ochako added in. "And that's not even getting into the fact of what Nine and Ten can do."

"Your hearts stopped beating." Toru actually pleaded for both of them, not just Iruma. "Let's just take some time to plan and get them to pay."

"… Fuck it." Bakugo growled. "But only because this guy is an overpowered asshole."

"Yeah, they're too strong alone." Iruma muttered. "Let's get a team together to take them out."

==

"Alright everyone." Aoyama watched Yaoyorozu get the class together. "We have gathered here to discuss options. First off, what we're dealing with."

"Slice is a semi decent person, just obsessed with Nine." Uraraka explained. "She has a metallic hair quirk for needles and shields."

"Chimera is a monster." Koda spoke with haunted eyes. "He has the powers of every animal. My Kingdom never stood a chance. The poor souls and cries …" Aoyama knew the anivoice user was passionate in his role, but sometimes it got too dramatic for even his taste.

"Dude, seriously, drop the act." Sero rolled his eyes.

"No, he's serious." Kaminari spoke up grimly. "He can literally hear animals like people. Them making dying noises is like a person letting out death cries." The boy explained in a horrific manner.

"Well that's something to add to this class's ever expanding list of existential crises." Shoji muttered. "The last two are Nine and Ten. Multiple quirks for both, Nine's the leader and can take quirks and Ten is somewhat cannibalistic."

"Can we really win against him?" Aoyama asked, his voice very shaken. "He'll just take our quirks. He's unstoppable." Unstoppable, no matter what they tried. All For One could never be beaten.

"All Forty One couldn't take my quirk. Neither can his copy." Huh? "Whether I like it or not, I have the best chance fighting him." How!?

"Besides, the fucker has a limit to how many quirks he can hold on to. He won't waste time trying to steal one of ours." Bakugo continued.

"How do you know that?"

"He fucking calls himself Nine." … Kind of redundant in all honesty. "And he spilled his guts. The man needs Katsuma's quirk in order to keep living, meaning he's wearing himself out with every quirk use."

"Said quirks include Weather Manipulation, Laser Fingers, Air Barriers, some sort of liquid Hydra, Quirk Scanning, and an inferior Cell Activation quirk." Momo carried on. "Meanwhile Ten, aside from the demon-like features he has, carries electromagnetism, a sound quirk, some mental trauma hallucinations-" Jiro flinched, Suzuki broke the table a bit, and Bakugo sparked at that one. "-some sort of muscle expansion-"

"It's Muscle Man's quirk from the camp." Iruma added. "He can make his muscles grow outside of his body, it took five fully filled punches to knock him out." This situation only grew worse and worse.

"...noted." Momo nodded with a wary frown. "He also has some enhanced sensory, a blood pumping speed booster, and a bone quirk. That's accounting for the abilities we know about."

"We need to separate them." Todoroki spoke up firmly. "We can barely hope to compete with these guys solo, much less as a coordinated team." He looked at Iida. "Me and Iida will take on Chimera. He'll break apart the defenses and get out of way as I hit him."

"Didn't that fail?" Ojiro pointed out.

"Hit him lethally." Sounds more effective, but nonetheless terrifying. "They'll tear apart the island if we hold back. We're the closest to licensed pros this place has, now's not the time to get squeamish."

"We were able to take out Mummy without killing him, so restrain them if it's possible." Tokoyami added.

"We need Bakugo and Suzuki out fighting either Nine or Ten." Yaoyorozu spoke up. "Someone still needs to take out Slice."

"I can do that." Ashido volunteered. "I can melt off her hair, metallic or not."

"I can get in close and land in some blows." Kirishima cracked his knuckles. "We'll leave everyone else to you guys, this is an all hands on deck."

"I'll keep the kids protected." Koda muttered. "I don't think the animals will be much help."

"Good, that means I'll be free to go all out on the All Forty One clone." Suzuki growled in a manner similar to Bakugo.

"Aren't we forgetting something?" Toru asked. "He has a lightning bolt. How do we get past that?

"With our lightning rod." The class blinked in confusion at Bakugo.

"I can't make something that big, it would melt before you were hit all at once." Momo responded with confusion.

"I never said you'd do it." The explosive teenager turned with a savage grin at Kaminari. "I told you I'd kill you." The boy whined but said nothing.

"I believe our roles have been firmly established." Iida stood up, determined. "First we ensure the safety of the civilians, and then we set up for each of our respective battles."

"We move them to the other side of the island." They looked at Suzuki. He scowled. "These guys don't care about others, that means they won't bother with whatever's not in their way. As long as we stay in between them and Katsuma, they won't try to hurt anyone else."

"Huh, Iruma came up with a decent idea…nicely done." Momo congratulated him. If the boy wasn't so mentally scarred, he may have actually been able to take a lead in his vice rep position.

"I just learned how assholes act." He spoke modestly. "Now let's be heroes and kick theirs." Violent Suzuki was a double edged sword.

Mahoro watched her brother blink his eyes, groaning. "No papa, I didn't eat all that candy, it was the ghost." So he was the Halloween thief!

"I missed out on a week's worth of sweets because of that, you jerk!" She sent a small punch into his shoulder.

"Wha-Mahoro!?" He got up, before looking dazed. "Tired … really tired."

"Well that's what happens when you overuse your quirk on something bigger than a paper cut." She frowned. He was so lucky that it was either quirk exhaustion or death by villains. "Just get as much rest as possible and hide. The U.A. guys are about to start fighting."

"Hey guys." Kettei, the only decent hero around, came in. "I brought cookies and juice. It helps whenever I give Toga a couple bags of blood, so it should help you heal up to." He gave blood to someone!? So creepy!

"Yeah, thanks." Her brother accepted it, although not without looking guilty. "I'm...sorry that you guys got hurt. The villains are after me for my quirk. Maybe if I just gave it to him, he'd stop…"

"No." The boy interrupted, looking serious. "It's your quirk, not his. If you let him bully you for it, he'll never learn his lesson. We're gonna beat him up, right Bakugo!?" He shouted down the hall.

"Fuck off I'm sweating!" They blinked at that.

"We're building weapons, he's putting explosive buckets of sweat into big bombs." He explained to them.

"Quirks are so weird." Mahoro muttered.

"Tell me about it. About every two months I learn something new about my own quirk. I've almost given up trying to understand everything about it." Kettei laughed lightly. "If it wasn't for Bunny-sensei or Rabbit-mama, I wouldn't know how to use it at all."

"Oh, are those your parents?" Her brother asked, perking up. "How do you get a wolf from two rabbits?"

"Oh no, well Bunny-sensei isn't my dad, even if people keep saying he is. Rabbit-mama adopted me cause my real parents were bad." He explained. "The wolf theme was just something a friend came up with randomly, although I've gotten used to running on all fours now."

She saw Katsuma's face glimmer when learning about this hero. And while she didn't mind knowing Kettei more, there was more important stuff to talk about now. "Alright, so how are we getting my brother off the island?" She asked him. "Boat, plane, submarine?"

"We don't have anything to get anyone off the Island, one of the attacks destroyed all the boats, but we can put him and everyone else underground on the other side. The quirk stealer is going to die naturally soon, so we'll keep him busy until he does." At least he wasn't being like a stupid adult and not keeping important stuff like death a secret. Everyone on the island walked on eggshells when it came to her mom's.

"It's … gonna be okay right?" Her brother asked, scared. "We'll be safe?"

"Of course, I'll make sure to do everything I can, even if I have to overcook the chicken." He smiled at them.

"Oh, that's how you use your quirk, right?" Katsuma guessed. "You imagine that the lightning on your body cooks you like your cooking food, which makes you stronger?"

"… Sure, let's go with that." He nodded for some reason, before turning to her. "Anima is going to do his best to keep you safe. Don't worry, we'll be here for you."

For some reason, she imagined All Might was in front of her for a second. Even weirder, Mahoro felt like she could trust him. "Good, because I'll just protect Katsuma on my own if you fail." She snickered.

"Good, I'll leave it to you." He patted her head before walking off.

"… He knows I was bluffing right?" She asked Katsuma.

"He's not as smart as King Explosion Murder." At least Kettei wasn't dumb enough to have a name like THAT!
