"So, where are we going now?" Kaija asked.
The limousine had already left the campus grounds, the city slowly unfolding beyond the darkened windows in streams of silver light and blurred traffic. The cabin itself was quiet, sealed away from the outside world beneath thick glass and expensive leather.
Unlike the previous times she had ridden in this same vehicle, Kaija was no longer sitting by the window with cautious distance between herself and the man beside her.
Now she sat between Charles's spread legs, her back pressed against the warmth of his chest, his arm loosely wrapped around her waist as though she belonged there naturally.
"The Kosonen Building," Charles replied simply.
His fingers threaded lazily through her long hair, combing through the strands with slow enjoyment. Every now and then he lifted a section toward his face, breathing in its scent like a man quietly addicted.
