At Konis's house —
After some introductions, the crew learned that Konis's father was Pagaya, a mechanic. The Straw Hat Pirates were warmly invited to have a meal at their home.
At that moment, Sandy sat in a corner, looking sulky. Nami, equally upset, pouted, "Sandy, I was just starting to have fun riding the Sky Viper! Why did you suddenly stop me?"
Chopper whispered, "He's jealous because you rode it better than he did."
Sandy's eyebrow twitched. "What did you just say?!"
"Ahhh!" Chopper squeaked and dove behind Usopp. "Sandy's scary when he's mad!"
"Yeah," Luffy said, fiddling with a Tone Dial, one of Skypiea's famous Dials. "Konis, you said this thing records sound, right? But it's not saying anything!"
Usopp grinned. "Idiot, this is how you use it."
He pressed down the top switch.
Tone Dial: "Sandy is a big idiot."
"Nani?!" Luffy shouted in shock. "Even the Tone Dial's roasting Sandy?!"
Sandy, sitting stiffly on the sofa, narrowed his eyes. That damn Straw Hat must be getting revenge for earlier — that embarrassing crash into the clouds!
Fine. He wasn't going to bite. If he stayed quiet, they'd forget about it soon enough. Yes… that was the smart play.
Except—
Tone Dial: "Sandy is a big idiot…"
Over and over, the Dial repeated it.
Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper were rolling on the floor laughing, playing it again and again.
Luffy ran up to Sandy, laughing so hard he could barely talk. "Sandy! Come on, play with us! This Dial's hilarious — it keeps saying you're a big idiot!"
Everyone else tried to stifle their giggles, covering their mouths.
Sandy's face turned bright red. "You damn Straw Hats! Are you done yet?! I already said it was an accident! You wanna get thrown out of here?!"
The Dial, as if mocking him, echoed once more: "Sandy is a big idiot."
"Turn it off! Now!" he yelled. "I'm serious!"
Before things could escalate further, Konis called out gently, "Everyone, the food's ready. Please, come eat."
The aroma hit immediately — rich, savory seafood that made everyone's stomach growl.
Sandy forgot his anger in an instant. He booted Luffy out the door and strode up, smiling. "Thank you for the meal! You two are true angels!"
Konis giggled softly, covering her mouth. "You're very welcome, hehe…"
Her laughter made Sandy blush all over again.
Outside, Chopper rushed to check on Luffy. "Luffy! Are you okay?!"
A short while later, everyone gathered around the dining table. The spread before them was incredible — fragrant dishes, glossy sauces, and bright red lobsters that glistened invitingly.
Sanji presented proudly, "Alright, everyone. This is a Skypiea-style feast — fruits and seafood straight from heaven."
"Ohhh, amazing!"
"Sugoi!"
Nami, sitting next to Sandy, smiled. "Skypiea's really amazing. The soft clouds, the Tone Dials, Wind Dials, Burn Dials — it's all so magical."
Robin nodded. "I'm curious what kind of principles make them work…"
Luffy stuffed a lobster into his mouth, mumbling through full cheeks, "Just… incredible clouds and Dials!"
Sandy groaned. "Luffy, people worked hard to make this food! Try tasting it, not inhaling it!"
"But it's too delicious!" Luffy said, swallowing the rest of the lobster in one go.
Yeah, talking sense into him was hopeless.
Konis poured everyone a glass of red wine and said sweetly, "There's plenty more in the kitchen, so please, eat to your hearts' content."
The warm, tidy home felt peaceful — a perfect reflection of its kind-hearted owners.
As Sandy looked around, a thought formed in his mind: I couldn't — wouldn't — let Enel destroy this place.
"Mmm! This shrimp is incredible!"
"I can't even describe how good this is!"
After a while, Pagaya cleared his throat. "Everyone, there's something I should explain."
"Huh? What is it?"
Pagaya exchanged a glance with Konis.
"In God's Country," Konis said softly, "there's one place no one must ever go. It's close to our island — if you ride a Sky Viper, you can reach it quickly."
Usopp frowned. "Not even one step inside? What kind of place is that?"
Pagaya replied solemnly, "That is the Holy Land."
"Holy Land?" Robin asked curiously.
Konis nodded. "It's said to be the land where God resides — God's Island, Upper Yard."
"God's Island?" Sandy chuckled. "Now that's ridiculous."
"Wait," Luffy said, eyes wide. "So there's an actual God living there?!"
"Yes," Konis said. "Our land is ruled by the almighty God — Enel."
"Almighty God?" Sanji raised an eyebrow.
Konis explained reverently, "Enel knows everything. He sees everything that happens in this world. Nothing escapes his eyes."
Sandy muttered under his breath, "So that's what you call it… the Space Field."
"Huh? What's that mean?" Luffy turned to him.
Sandy stood up. "That Enel guy — he's no God. He's just a man with a Logia-type Devil Fruit. The so-called 'God' title is pure arrogance."
Konis and Pagaya gasped, standing up in panic. Before they could speak, Sandy raised his hand. "Relax. Even if he's using Observation Haki right now, he can't hear us."
Nami frowned. "Sandy, are you saying Enel's a Logia user?"
Usopp's eyes widened. "Like that smoke guy! Or Crocodile!"
Sandy laughed. "Not even close. Enel ate the Rumble-Rumble Fruit — he controls lightning."
"Rumble-Rumble Fruit?!" Everyone shouted in unison.
"That's right," Sandy said. "He can turn into lightning and release it freely. If you don't have Haki, you can't even touch him."
"Nani?!"
"Lightning attacks? That's crazy!"
"Are there really fruits that powerful?!"
Sandy rolled his eyes. "Listen before you freak out! After he got that fruit, he used the island's magnetic field to expand his Observation Haki to cover all of Skypiea. That's why people think he's omniscient — but 'almighty'? Hardly."
Sanji crossed his arms. "So, your ability — it blocks him from sensing us?"
Zoro asked, intrigued. "Your Space Field can even interfere with his Haki?"
Sandy nodded. "Exactly. I manipulate the magnetic field inside the area, so his Observation Haki can't pick us up."
"Sugoi!" Chopper exclaimed.
Usopp tilted his head. "But wait — this is your first time here, right? How do you know so much about this Enel guy?"
"Damn it…" Sandy muttered under his breath, then quickly said, "I've got Observation Haki too, okay?
I can sense it. Anyway, you should all know this — from the moment we entered Skypiea, we've been under surveillance."
The table went silent.
