Haruto's attention shifted between the real world and one of the new missions in his mission scroll.
Mission Aim : Convince Tsunade to let you break the meteorite.
Mission Assigned By : Shinra Kusakabe
Mission Reward : Shinra Kusakabe's third generation body.
'I just need to get her to believe…'
Tsunade however still moved to hit Haruto and knock him out.
'A plan from an eight year old? Who'll believe that?'
But then at the last second Haruto shouted out something that froze Tsunade.
"I don't want to become the Hokage or die! Just listen to me!"
Tragic memories flashed past Tsunade's eyes in moments. Memories of her boy friend telling her his dreams, of her brother telling her his dreams, of their tragic deaths.
For a second Tsunade made an extremely unwilling expression before she looked at Haruto and sighed.
'Haish…'
"What is it… your grand plan?" Tsunade asked softly.
Haruto exhaled softly and looked at the Meteorite as he spoke.
"We'll fly to the meteorite, then with your punches we'll create as deep a crater as possible on it, then just pump chakra into me through the chakra transfer jutsu and leave the rest to me."
Tsunade's hand rose instantly before she smashed her knuckles into Haruto's head.
BANG!
"What fly!? How will we fly!? Do you think flying summons grow on trees?! Those that have it are probably already running away using them."
BANG!
"And what do you mean pump chakra into you and leave the rest to you!? What are you going to do? Fire a fireball at that thing?" Tsunade looked really angry.
Just as Tsunade was about to hit Haruto a third time he shouted, "You damn hag! Why can't you just believe me!? I have a jutsu that can cause an explosion you hag! I learnt it from Kakashi!"
"Ha- HAG!!!???" Tsunade gasped before attempting to hit Haruto once again but Shizune held her back this time.
"Tsunade-sama, we can't waste any more time, why don't we find Kakashi and use his help to do this instead? If the boy learnt it from Kakashi, then Kakashi is more reliable."
Haruto laughed, "With what time will you find Kakashi-sensei? You really think he's not running away himself already? Just listen to me! I'm the only realistic shot we have at breaking apart that meteorite."
Tsunade closed her eyes and sighed deeply.
And after a few seconds opened her eyes with a sharp glare.
"Shizune, search the skies for someone whose flying pet we can borrow. And you! Brat! Get ready!"
Haruto sighed in relief, it was the right decision to let Tsunade roll with her mistake of thinking of flying on a summon, he felt a short strain in his mind as he got all the knowledge about Shira's third generation flight.
It wasn't light speed travel but it wasn't anything too bad either.
His body felt itchy all over too, like someone was going at his cells with a precise instrument and rewriting every single strand of his DNA.
But it wasn't very uncomfortable for very long. Soon the itchiness transformed into a warmth that comforted him gently.
He looked at the meteorite and just as Shizune was about to leave to search for a flying summon Haruto spoke.
"No need for a flying summon, just grab onto me."
"Huh?" Tsunade asked softly.
"Kakashi-sensei also taught me a jutsu for flying."
Tsunade's mouth hung loose, as did Shizune's. The two of them looked at each other before looking at Haruto with a little suspicion.
"What? I swear Kakashi-sensei was the one that taught me the jutsu, he said that the Tsuchikage could fly in battle which gave him a huge advantage, so he created a jutsu that could let him do the same."
Tsunade said nothing for a second while simply looking at Haruto suspiciously before nodding, "Alright, I'll ask him once all this is settled."
Haruto nodded firmly, 'Yeah… like you'll resurrect the Third Hokage and ask him.'
It was at this point that Shizune finally interrupted, "Tsunade-sama… are you sure about this? Shouldn't we all just… run?"
'Haish…'
Tsunade sighed.
She then shook her head and spoke boldly, "I can't let what I've inherited be taken away… after all it's the duty of the old to stand up for the young… if my shoulders can lift this weight I might as well try."
"But Tsunade-sama… what if…" Shizune was teary eyed, her hands fidgeting and her shoulders trembling.
Tsunade simply placed her hand on Shizune's head and gave it a good rub before speaking softly, "Take care Shizune…"
"Un." Shizune nodded.
"Alright brat! What do you want me to do!?"
Haruto looked Tsunade up and down before speaking, "Can't you, you know… become any smaller? It'll be quite difficult for me to carry you otherwise."
Haruto asked since he knew from the show that Tsunade had a jutsu unique to her that allowed her to physically alter her body's age.
Tsunade's eyes narrowed before she clicked her tongue, "Tsk.".
She then formed a quick hand seal that caused a cloud of smoke to cover her before it cleared and revealed a much younger blonde girl that was in her early teens.
Haruto's eyes suddenly widened.
"Do you have a granddaughter?" Haruto mumbled out just loud enough for Tsunade to catch and smile with pride.
He nearly whistled but held himself back before giving out his next orders, "Now, climb onto my back and make sure you keep your legs away from my feet."
Tsunade nodded and quickly climbed on Haruto's back, however it still looked rather comical since Haruto was still the smaller one.
But no one had the time to laugh, the meteorite was only about fifteen kilometers up and falling fast.
Konoha was currently shrouded in darkness, akin to a solar eclipse.
Tsunade wrapped her arms around Haruto's neck, her legs wrapped around his waist while she clung onto him as tightly as she could.
Haruto struggled to balance for a few seconds before he managed to find his center of mass by instinct.
"Alright, brace for it." Haruto said quietly.
Suddenly fire bursts out of Haruto's feet burning off his sandals and a bit of the bottom of his pants.
Yet in spite of how hot the fire was, his legs handled the heat just fine without blistering.
Haruto felt like he was back practicing walking on water once again. His legs felt all wobbly and shaky as the hot fire created a cushion underneath his feet.
"Why're you shaking so much!?" Tsunade asked in a high pitched tone.
"I said I knew how to fly, I didn't say I was any good at it." Haruto said calmly before nodding in Shizune's direction and speaking calmly.
"If we don't return… please write on Tsunade's grave, 'I was fat but now I'm skinny.'"
"Huh?" Shizune tilted her head in confusion but Tsunade got the joke and just as she was about to shout out in anger, "How dare you, you br-!!!"
WOOSH!
With a burst of fire from the soles of feet , Haruto was off in the air, flying towards the sky at a speed of seventy kilometers per hour.
While it was a little hard to keep his legs stiff and not bend them to avoid changing the direction of their flight, Haruto managed by simply locking his knees to save himself from trouble.
"Off to the meteorite we go…" Haruto mumbled as he rose through the open air with Tsunade's hold tightening around him.
