Chapter 176 - That time I got to become friend with a slime in an another world dungeon

He first gauged their strength. The orcs were only D rank, while goblins were hardly a threat. He summoned his spiritual energy and used the Chaos Titan battle technique, transforming into a 10-foot giant made of thunder. He charged straight toward the goblin army, and soon only their screams echoed.

After wiping out an entire army, he checked his points, now at 288, and felt satisfied. Then he went to hunt again, heading in the direction of the goblin army. He knew he was at the top of the rankings, but he wasn't aware that after a few minutes, the rankings changed again. Someone was slowly gaining points. While they didn't surpass the rank immediately, one person was steadily moving up.

It was Lina, who was gradually eliminating anyone in her path with her robot army.

1. Roman = 288 points

2. Lu Xiaoran = 124 points

3. Lina = 33 points +1 +1 +1…..

Unlike Lu Xiaoran and Roman, Lina followed a different strategy. As the newest and weakest disciple of Vik, she might not have the greatest strength, but her intelligence and strategy were exceptional. Coming from a family with a history of making weapons for pioneers of humanity, she had a natural affinity for using machines in her work.

With the knowledge she developed while studying at Anonymous Hall, facilitated by Vik's system, she created a wide range of weapons and robots powered by spiritual energy from spirit stones. Now, Lina walked with her group of 50 armed robots, each equipped with a main electromagnetic gun, a side assault rifle, and a short laser sword. In front of her, a small flying drone scouted ahead. Before entering the forest, she deployed several high-flying drones to capture images from above, acting as her satellites. Since she lacked spiritual sense, she couldn't scan the area like Lu Xiaoran and Roman.

However, with the high-altitude drones capturing images and the small drones scouting ahead, she gathered information over a wide area. As a result, she avoided stronger enemies and targeted the small goblins. Following this strategy, she approached a small goblin village that Roman had skipped over in favor of higher-value targets.

Suddenly, she stopped when her small drone detected movement a few meters ahead. Finally getting the picture, she saw a small group of goblins mercilessly killing another goblin and eating its body. The goblins had no sense of kinship; they acted like a society only in the presence of stronger monsters like hobgoblins. In their absence, they would kill each other when hungry. Lina observed this, thought for a moment, and ordered her robots to hold back while she stepped forward.

When the goblin group noticed her, they prepared their daggers to attack. However, upon seeing Lina, they hesitated. Some goblins even licked their lips. Goblins were inherently lustful, with almost no females in their race. Most of the time, they were born from the goblin king or bred with females from other races. Now, seeing Lina, those goblins had similar thoughts.

But Lina did nothing as she stared at the group of goblins, her hand shaking in fear. She had a fear of monsters—not just goblins, but almost every kind of monster. This fear was tied to her lost memory and the death of her father. However, she was determined to confront her fear this time.

One goblin dropped his dagger and lunged at her with lust-filled eyes. Before he could touch her, a laser sword pierced through his mouth, emerging from the other side. Lina held the sword and swung upward, splitting the goblin's head in two.

Seeing this, the other goblins charged at her with daggers, but those weapons were useless against her laser sword. Lina cut them down like vegetables. With the sword in hand, she moved gracefully among the remaining goblins, sometimes decapitating them and sometimes splitting them in two.

Following her master's order, she took her combat experience seriously. At the end of the fight, her hands were still shaking, but she wore a smile. The fear that once paralyzed her was slowly turning into hatred. Deep down, she sensed that her father's death might be related to monsters in some way or to someone controlling an army of them.

As she contemplated this, the last goblin attempted to flee, only for its head to be blasted by a bullet from her armed robots. With this first hunt complete, Lina may not have gained as many points as Lu Xiaoran or Roman, but she was steadily accumulating points while hunting smaller prey in larger numbers.

Meanwhile, Vik watched everything unfold on his screen, monitoring the actions of all his disciples.

POV: Vik

I was currently sitting in a chair with a robot holding an umbrella for me while another robot offered me lemonade. I had to admit that Lina's robots came in handy. But most of my focus remained on my disciples. While Lu Xiaoran and Roman performed well, Lina was also holding her own. Initially, I was frustrated when I saw her facing those goblins with trembling hands. I felt anger toward the goblins; how could such a race exist? I was ready to intervene if any of them touched Lina. But she surprised me by handling the situation flawlessly. After brutally killing those goblins, she even smiled. I thought she might be finding pleasure in killing monsters.

As I focused on the screen, I noticed a small movement as something emerged from the forest, moving slowly toward me. The robots detected it and rushed to intercept it, but when I finally saw the creature, I quickly halted the robots and froze the very space around me.

I felt scared because in front of me was a creature famous in fantasy lore—more renowned than any story of chosen heroes or dragons fighting knights. This was a creature whose feats I had heard of even in my previous life. Yes, before me was the classic entity from every fantasy world, one that often appeared in reincarnation tales.

The most diabolical.

The monster of monsters.

The most menacing of them all.

It's the slime.

But more than that, it was a sky-blue slime, making a cute "peu! pew!" sound as it bounced toward me.

I didn't know what to think, but in the worst case, I might come into contact with this legendary slime, maybe the reincarnation of some kind Japanese person. So, I did the next best thing I knew.

Facing the slime, I slowly bowed and said, "Konnichiwa! Slime-chan!"
