Chapter 730 - Chapter 689: Schism

Long ago, the Kree sowed the seeds of war among the stars.

They stole the experimental subjects of the Celestial Gods Group, manipulating the genes of primitive humans, conducting experiments to make them evolve, become more useful, and more peculiar.

This experiment continued with bloodlines passing down through generations, turning Inhumans into soldiers, spies, assassins, and slaves.

It was supposed to continue like this until the Supreme Wisdom, for some reason, ordered the 'Visitor' Corps conducting the experiments to destroy all Inhumans.

Some Inhumans survived.

But they could not always rely on luck.

As the second Kree-Skrull war continues today, the Supreme Wisdom recalled the power beyond the deep space, the power that could be used against the Skrulls.

Thus, the Kree returned.

The Visitor Corps returned to Earth to convey their master's will to the Inhumans.

Join or die!

The Genetic Council was thus divided, some believed they should resist to the end, while others thought they should surrender.

But the Kree's time left is limited, in 12 hours Earth time, if the Inhumans cannot make the right decision, the Kree Fleet will make it for them.

In the conference room, the council members could not persuade one another, the five major tribes each held their views, first there was an all-out brawl among the council members, and then the scale of the fight quickly grew like a wildfire.

After hearing Hel's words, Su Ming's expression was strange.

What is this? Settling internal affairs before external ones? At this rate, without the Kree's intervention, the Inhumans will wipe themselves out.

"So now there's an internal war between the surrender faction and the resistance faction?"

Hel tilted her chin, placing her long legs on the broken equipment beside her: "Not quite, try again."

"Could it be split into five factions?" Su Ming chuckled, glancing at Tanis beside him: "Even if the Inhumans are divided into five tribes, splitting into five factions for the internal war seems too much."

"Actually, it's six factions." Hel spread her hands regretfully, her face showing the schadenfreude of watching a good show.

"Huh?" Su Ming rubbed his face, no wonder there was a call for a military coup, there's not even a basic consensus, what negotiation can there be? He told Tanis: "This nation is beyond saving, I'll send you to find the hidden Inhumans on Earth."

"No, Atlan cannot fall, there's a large reserve of Terrigen Crystals here, if the Kree bomb Atlan, containment measures are likely to fail, if the crystals contact the seawater below, Earth's biosphere is doomed."

Tanis shook her head repeatedly, clutching her child tightly, having no intention of leaving.

Su Ming clicked his tongue, earlier when he was watching the sunrise with Giovanni, no Kree Fleet was detected in Earth's near orbit, so now they should just be hidden somewhere in space, waiting for the countdown to end to harvest the aftermath.

If the fleet collectively warps to near orbit and opens fire on Atlan, Su Ming wouldn't be able to stop it, a wartime Kree fleet probably has over ten thousand warships, he can't thwart that many energy weapons.

The best method is to locate the Kree Fleet, draw in the Skrulls, if these two meet, they'll certainly go to war, ensuring Atlan's safety.

Unfortunately, nobody knows the location of the Kree Visitor Corps, as the Science Colony Department, they don't even answer to the 'Accuser', but report directly to the Supreme Wisdom.

That means, even if Su Ming tries acting as Odin again, travels to the Dwarf World to ask Ronan repairing ships, he still won't get the Visitor's location.

Unless... catching and killing the 'Visitor' Corps messenger dispatched to Atlan, extracting the fleet's position from memory.

He pulled out a cigarette and lit it, less than 12 hours remain, it's enough for him, just slightly challenging to find the Kree in an unfamiliar city.

Scratching his beard, slowly exhaling a puff of smoke, he gazed at Hel in the darkness: "Tell me, how is Atlan divided into six factions now?"

"First is the resistance faction, led by this woman's husband, the weakest faction now, like mice in a cabin, hiding within the city."

Tanis opened her mouth, but seeing Hel conjure a spiral spike out of thin air to fix her nails, she wisely remained silent.

"Then there's the surrender faction, actually this faction is not strong, they don't even have an elder to back them, completely led by the Kree, members are basically traitors subverted by Kree spies in recent years, now they're missing too."

Hel recounted nonchalantly, her cold voice slowly echoing in the dark room.

Su Ming nodded, the Guiding Party faction is not strong either, interesting, he signaled Hel to continue.

"Currently the strongest faction, which sent these soldiers here, is the escape faction led by the current highest speaker. They plan to abandon Atlan, take the Terrigen Crystals and Inhuman Infants along with scientific tech and supplies, to wander the Cosmos." Hel glanced at Tanis, mocking with a smile: "Because of your relationship with the resistance leader, the escape faction sent troops to enforce, in other words, you've doomed everyone here."

Tanis: "...."

Su Ming patted her shoulder: "What's done is done, no need to delve further, Hel, carry on."

"Next comes a faction I find naive, they don't believe the Kree will truly destroy Atlan, thinking this is a bluff, so they've decided to stay here, waiting to see what happens after 12 hours, I call this faction the fool's faction."

Hel spoke lightly, although her expression didn't change, her tone turned much more cheerful, reflecting her inner joy.

"Four factions down, two more?" Su Ming nodded, tossing away the cigarette butt, indicating for the two to follow and leave, since the soldiers here are disconnected, the backup troops should soon arrive for inspection.

Hel put away the Spiral Spike, and grabbed Tanis's arm, the two walked side by side.

"One faction hopes to fly Atlan to Asgard, relying on Odin's support, using the Lord of Nine Realms' reputation to counter the Kree Empire. They can exchange all of Atlan's technology for this protection. From what I know of the old man, he would definitely agree as long as the Skrulls are united, Asgard going against the Kree Empire won't be a problem. I named this faction the Vassal Faction."

"Hmm, I believe Odin definitely has some ideas, not just against the Skrull Empire, he could even drag the Xi'a Empire into it." Su Ming walked in the darkness and added, "Speaking of which, you really like to give people nicknames, there's another one?"

Hel rolled her eyes at him and said irritably, "The last faction plans to have Atlan land on Earth, bringing humans into the battle."

"Smart people are so annoying," Su Ming couldn't help but shake his head.

The Kree want to destroy Atlan, so why not let Atlan land itself? By then, when the Kree attack, it would become a bombardment of Earth, and the ignorant humans would surely join the fight.

And if that happens, all the different forces on Earth would unite, not just SSR and Hydra, even powerful hidden forces like Kunlun, or mysterious forces like the Lords of Hell, would have to join the battle.

Everyone is depending on Earth for sustenance, outsiders want to smash the pot?

Then let's fight.

Su Ming thought the Landing Faction is actually the most broad-minded, they obviously have confidence in humans, which is strange since the closed-off Atlan shouldn't know the current state of humans.

This pot is thrown well, Earth's power is actually not weak, once united it is also a very formidable force, not needing those future masked heroes, all the Lords of Hell related to Earth unite, the Supreme Wisdom would be overwhelmed.

Those people just revealed the real elevator location, Su Ming along with two others and an infant were returning along this path.

"I guess they're going to land in the United States."

Su Ming felt the elevator's movement, very steady, only a barely noticeable hum.

Hel crossed her arms, leaning against one side of the elevator wall, "This faction is basically composed of scientists, they intercepted human communications and broadcasts for research, believing humans to be incredibly powerful. But you guessed the landing site wrong, they're planning to land in the Celestial Dynasty Imperial Capital."

"Hoo..."

This is really fatal, Inhumans are just different, their thought processes are not the same, Su Ming already guessed wrong several times in just this short moment.

Logically speaking, shouldn't they head straight for humanity's lighthouse? Why are they targeting Celestial Dynasty?

Though the Celestial Dynasty in the Marvel World is ridiculously strong, all forces are deeply hidden, Zheng Xian covered everything under a lid, no one should know.

"Among these corpses, there's a small squad leader who knows quite a bit, from his memory, the Landing Faction made their judgment based on the broadcasts they intercepted from Celestial Dynasty. There are tales of strong figures like Journey to the West and Investiture of the Gods in there, do you know what those are?"

Hel curiously asked, as an Asgardian, she's very interested in powerful figures.

Su Ming patted his forehead, Zheng Xian really messed up.

The existence of Huaxia Gods in the Marvel World is ambiguous, the Celestial Court exists, the Eight Immortals exist, the Monkey King exists. However, these existences are not the same as the novels broadcast on the radio.

Zheng Xian plays the game of true and false, false and true, radio and TV broadcast freely, but relevant departments outright deny the existence of gods and demons, that's the attitude.

'According to expert investigation, there are no gods in the world, whether you believe it or not, I believe.'

No one can produce evidence for the existence of immortals or Superpower Users, people who truly produce evidence are mostly sipping tea...

Thus a story is a story, it's literary creation, no one takes it seriously, the populace knows the story is fake, everyone lives in a materialist world.

And these Inhumans from Atlan, didn't follow Zheng Xian's path, they directly listened to the stories as truth.

Thinking carefully... makes sense, these scientists painstakingly cracked Chinese, how could they distinguish truth from fiction?

In the United States now, their radio stations also tell stories, but mostly it's the love between western cowboys and prostitutes, or some comedic dramas of love and romance, in comparison, they are simply weak, right?

"I don't know what they're talking about, I've never heard of Journey to the West or Investiture of the Gods." Su Ming replied to Hel expressionlessly and passed the topic to Tanis beside him, "Do you know about these researchers?"

Tanis naturally knew nothing about it, she was completely in a different department from the researchers.

Hel looked suspiciously at Deathstroke, but he showed no flaws, so she rubbed her wrist and changed the topic.

"So what do we do next?"

"Now the Inhumans have split into six factions, and they're dynamically spread throughout the city, we have difficulty tracking them down, only letting them come to us."

Su Ming drew little stick figures on the elevator wall with his dirty hand, giving them each a Jester Badge's smiling face.

"How do we do that?"

"Apart from the fool faction planning to wait in place, and the escape faction abandoning Atlan, the remaining four factions actually have one thing in common, whether they plan to resist or surrender, or plan to go somewhere, they all must fight for Atlan's steering wheel." Su Ming calmly drew a curve, crossing out two stick figures.

"Steering wheel?" Hel was puzzled.

"You can think of it as a ship's helm, which is Atlan's mobility control room." Saying this, Su Ming turned his gaze again to Tanis, "This time... madam, you should know the way, right?"
