"Pika~chu~"
Hearing Naoki's praise, Pikachu looked a little shy.
"Then we'll settle it like this for now," Naoki said.
A few Pokemon nodded.
Mewtwo, who had silently watched all of this, suddenly spoke:
"After we leave here, I can modify these machines and build a power plant."
Naoki was slightly stunned. "You can build one?"
Mewtwo gave a soft grunt of acknowledgment; it had done this kind of thing before.
Maybe it was because of the human genes in its body that it possessed wisdom and emotions far beyond ordinary Pokemon, and with its brain developed to the extreme by Psychic power, it could easily learn human knowledge.
The castle on New Island from before was built by it after absorbing the memories and data left behind by those Team Rocket researchers.
So Naoki wasn't too surprised that Mewtwo could do this kind of thing, since he'd already expected it.
Still, thinking about it, Mewtwo really had put a lot of skill points into all sorts of weird stuff…
House building, machine modification, laying concrete floors, it could even hypnotize humans.
In the movie, Mewtwo hypnotized a Miss Joy and had her come to New Island to be a housekeeper.
"Then I'll leave it to you," Naoki said.
He was quite happy inside. Since Mewtwo had brought it up on its own, that meant it had started to see this place as "home."
Pokemon working together with one heart to build a shared home and all that—it sounded pretty touching.
Perfect. Later he could have Mewtwo build a power plant, and when Zapdos retired and came back, it could just settle down right there at the plant.
With the energy problem solved, the next thing was crop planting.
Naoki dug out the seeds and saplings he'd bought from that pile of stuff, getting ready to go over to the farmland area and teach the Pokemon how to plant crops.
But there was too much stuff, and he couldn't carry it all by himself.
Seeing this, the Pokemon nearby all ran over to help.
Charizard picked up a bundle of saplings with its claws, Venusaur unleashed Vine Whip to wrap around the taller fruit trees, and Mudbray and Tropius each carried two sacks of seeds on their backs.
As for smaller Pokemon like Buneary, Clefable, Vaporeon, and Meowth, they each took a small bag of seeds.
Everyone ran toward the farmland area amid laughter, full of expectations for a better life.
Walking at the front, Naoki glanced back and suddenly felt like he was leading a group of kindergarten kids on a spring outing.
Before long, they passed through Slowking's Wise Man's Forest and arrived at that stretch of fertile field.
Mewtwo and the others had already opened up a large area of farmland here.
Naoki sorted the seeds into categories, putting vegetables with vegetables and grains with grains.
Finally, Naoki began explaining to this group of Pokemon how to plant, the harvest time, harvesting methods, and how to save seeds and raise seedlings.
Planting and harvesting were very simple for these Pokemon, but saving seeds and raising seedlings was a bit difficult for them.
Naoki talked for quite a while, but not many Pokemon could understand.
Seeing that, Naoki wasn't anxious. The crops hadn't even been planted yet, let alone matured; he could always teach again after they ripened later.
By then the Pokemon could follow along with him and try it themselves, and it would surely be much easier.
After the introduction, Naoki led everyone to start planting the fields together.
They scattered the seeds into the cultivated fields, then covered them with soft soil.
At first, this group of Pokemon moved very awkwardly.
But soon they slowly mastered the technique of sowing, and their speed and efficiency improved dramatically.
Meanwhile, Mewtwo wasn't idle either.
It flew up into the air, blue light flashing in its eyes as a vast Psychic power radiated from its whole body.
The next second, Mewtwo swooped down from the sky.
The untilled fields below immediately began, at a speed visible to the naked eye, to be forcibly transformed by Psychic into farmland suitable for planting.
The sight left Naoki dumbfounded.
Mewtwo's ability was just way too over the top!
In no time, Mewtwo had finished turning over this entire stretch of field.
It even carefully left ridges between each plot for the Pokemon to walk on, making it convenient for them to check on how the crops were growing.
After finishing this, Mewtwo handed that small section of land over to Venusaur and the others to plant.
As for itself, it used Psychic to carry the remaining seeds and sped across the sky.
Under the precise control of its Telekinesis, the seeds seemed to be attracted as they each fell into the dug holes.
Then, soft soil automatically covered them.
By the time Mewtwo had finished planting all the fields, Naoki and the other Pokemon had also completed the areas they were responsible for.
Naoki looked around and felt he ought to put a little sign in front of each plot, so the Pokemon could tell what crop was planted there.
But he hadn't brought any materials today.
After thinking for a moment, Naoki decided he could make them later and bring them up to the World Tree.
The first batch of crops planted by the Pokemon was very meaningful; letting them personally watch the crops they planted grow and bear fruit would feel completely different from just harvesting directly.
So Naoki didn't have Calyrex come over to instantly ripen these crops.
"What's next?" Mewtwo asked.
"Next is watering," Naoki said, looking toward the surrounding Water Type Pokemon.
