As the sound reverberated, two intense golden lights appeared in the statue's eye sockets, resembling the first rays of the rising sun. Immediately, the statue's skin began to peel off,
revealing the golden flesh and blood flowing with Divine Power underneath. The previously motionless limbs slowly started to move, the joints emitting a heavy creaking sound, as if a body that hadn't moved for millennia had finally awakened.
The statue of the Sun God came to life.
At this moment, on the distant city wall, countless soldiers and civilians looked up at this scene in terror. Some fell to their knees in prayer, some screamed and fled, while many more stood frozen, witnessing the descent of a miracle. Meanwhile, Zeus, who had transformed into an eagle, still stood silently on the statue's shoulder, coldly observing all that was unfolding.
As if all of this had been under his control long before.
Ian stood at the edge of the square.
His gaze locked onto the just-animated statue of the Sun God. His heartbeat had yet to calm when he suddenly noticed—the giant eagle that had perched on the statue's shoulder once again spread its wings.
Its wings sliced through the oppressive air, its silhouette became a black cutout in the twilight, swiftly flying towards a secluded corner deep within the city. There was the ruins of the old city district.
A place hardly anyone cared about.
And the giant eagle was spying on the animated statue moving towards somewhere.
As its giant foot lifted, it stirred a howling gust, the shadow like a shroud of death enveloping the harbor. The next second, it stepped down with a boom—the columns of the Temple snapped like dry branches, the dome collapsed under the weight, spraying out rubble and dust. The giant statue's stride showed no mercy, as if it was crushing nothing more than the nests of ants.
Its foot crushed the marketplace; stalls, clay pots, terrified fleeing civilians—all were turned to a bloody pulp under the pressure of metal and stone. It moved forward, the knees creaking with a piercing metal sound, like an ancient beast's low roar. The second step crushed towards the lighthouse, the base shattered instantly, the tower tilted, broke.
Raising a cloud of dust.
With each step the giant statue took, it was accompanied by the lamentation of buildings. Walls collapsed, houses were pulverized, even the ground cracked with web-like fissures.
As if the entire city was groaning in pain beneath its feet.
And it continued to advance—toward a certain tower.
"No way, what's going on, I just came to find romantic roses, the roses in a place like this?" Ian hadn't yet reacted.
A roar tore through the night sky.
"Gods! You cannot stop me!"
The voice, like thunder, carried endless anger and determination, shaking every stone brick of the entire city. Ian jerked his head up, following the voice—it was a bald figure climbing up an altar of a collapsed Temple, clad in tattered War Armor, body covered in scars, yet his eyes burned as fiercely as flames.
"?????"
Ian finally realized something.
He was bewildered.
What kind of impact had the Female Titan Claire left on future generations to allow him to witness a scene akin to a mythical spectacle in this mythological history!
Indeed.
Ian recognized the bald man.
It was Kratos.
The War God Kratos.
He held the Blade of Chaos in his hand, eyes burning with the flames of revenge, facing the towering statue of the Sun God not far away. The statue had not yet fully regained its mobility.
But it already exuded an overwhelming pressure.
However.
Kratos, who had already lost Divine Power, feared none of it. As of now, the sky over Rhodes Island seemed ignited by war, with dark clouds rolling, lightning flashing.
"You can't stop me either! Just a dead thing!" Kratos stood at the top of a ruined tower, the wind tearing at his cloak, his bare torso covered in scars and blood, yet it couldn't hide the burning anger in his eyes.
The Sun God slowly raised his torch, golden light illuminating the night sky. The next second, he swung it fiercely, flames poured down like a torrent, engulfing the entire battlefield.
Kratos roared as he rushed into the flames.
The battle.
Was intense.
Boulders shattered, flames roared; roars and explosions interwove into a symphony of destruction.
All of this was coldly watched by a giant eagle circling high above—that was Zeus, King of Olympus, the hidden spectator. He watched as Kratos fought like a madman. Although his mouth didn't move, a mocking smile appeared in his eyes: "In the end, you cannot escape my game board."
However, this sense of triumph hadn't lasted a moment before the air around him suddenly distorted, a figure silently appearing beside him, a small hand touching his body.
"Long time no see, Zeus, it seems you too like turning into birds. Is it because of my Animagus form's influence?" Ian's voice rang in Zeus's ear.
The King of Gods saw the figure he least wanted to see.
