Chapter 676 - Chapter 67: Grindelwald: What Do You Want to Gain

Vid discovered that the entire school seemed to be discussing the Magic School Tournament. Many students, knowing nothing about other schools, rushed to the library to borrow books first thing in the morning.

Books related to international magic schools quickly became a scarce resource in the library. Thus, those who managed to borrow books and learn some information became the center of attention.

This phenomenon was especially evident at lunchtime.

"My cousin goes to Beauxbatons," said a Ravenclaw girl nonchalantly. "Their students are elegant and well-versed in etiquette. Mountain Fairies sing serenades while students dine."

Some students expressed envy: "The last time someone sang at our school... it was during Halloween when Professor Dumbledore invited the Skeleton Band!"

How can a bunch of bones compare to beauties from the forest?

Another reminded him, "Did you forget? Professor Lockhart hired dwarfs to sing across the campus on Valentine's Day. I remember you even received a card."

The former clutched his head in agony, "No, just thinking about that makes me feel even more pitiful!"

There were also students excitedly talking about Uagadou.

"I've heard many of their students can freely transform into cheetahs and elephants," a freckled boy said earnestly. "The magazines that claim there are only seven Animagus wizards in the world are completely wrong. Uagadou students are all Animagi."

Nearby classmates refuted, "Maybe they aren't transforming with Animagus magic? I don't think the Ministry of Magic would make such a foolish mistake."

"To me, Durmstrang is the best school; their approach to magic is more fair, and they can openly study Dark Magic..."

At the long table, a few Slytherin boys gathered and spoke grandly.

Students from other houses showed obvious disdain, and even not all Slytherins aspire to Dark Magic.

Suddenly, a girl's voice rang out: "I heard Mr. Grindelwald studied at Durmstrang but was later expelled... Why was he expelled?"

Vid and the others turned to look; the speaker was Daphne's sister, Astoria.

The boys who had been discussing Durmstrang immediately went silent, some embarrassed, others glaring at the girl unfavorably.

When Grindelwald recently escaped from prison, the newspapers had explained several times that he was expelled for experimenting with "unorthodox experiments" that even Durmstrang couldn't tolerate.

But Astoria didn't look at anyone, wearing an innocent expression as if she truly didn't know the reason.

Daphne hurriedly stuffed a piece of pudding into her mouth, annoyed, "You know what? Your biggest flaw is the mouth you have!"

"Haha." Michael couldn't help but laugh and turned to Vid, whispering, "I've always thought Astoria is much more interesting than her sister."

"Hmm... maybe she is..."

Vid said vaguely, taking a sip of pumpkin juice to hide his twitching mouth behind the cup, quickly scanning the teachers' table.

Moody wasn't there.

Vid remembered when Moody talked about Grindelwald with his parents, his wary, guarded, even subtly fearful demeanor, as if Grindelwald were some abyssal demon ready to emerge and devour the magic world at any moment.

If he heard students discussing that person so casually, he might give them a harsh lesson on the consequences of underestimating the enemy in Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

Just then, Anthony approached Vid: "I've already applied for the empty classroom, Vid, when are you free?"

"So soon?" Michael asked in surprise, "Don't we all have classes all morning?"

"After Transfiguration class ended, I stayed behind and asked Professor McGonagall," Anthony explained. "She was happy to hear about our plan and gave us an activity room from a former student club."

"And... that club?" Leian asked, tilting his head, "Did they move somewhere else?"

Anthony said, "No, it was a club some students organized long ago, but after all the members graduated, they didn't recruit newcomers. The club's been defunct for ages, with just the sign on the door left untouched."

After all, besides the main castle, the school has several towers and annexes, and there's never been enough students to require all areas to be in use. Many places remain closed or even hidden.

Anthony continued, "Tonight, I've arranged for a few people to clean it up; we'll have it ready by tomorrow morning at the latest."

After speaking, he looked at Vid with eager eyes.

Vid said, "My regular classes are quite full. When I'm not in class, I have to study Alchemy. So the magic spell tutoring can only be on Tuesdays and Fridays from..."

Vid hesitated, his words twisting on his tongue before he said, "Let's set the time from seven to nine after dinner."

"Great, then it starts tomorrow!" Anthony said joyfully, "I'll go find people now!"

He left in a rush, leaving Michael staring at Vid in surprise.

Vid sighed, "Your suggestion is good, but..."

...

Vid didn't like dealing with too many people either, so using early mornings to filter out most of those who couldn't persist seemed good to him.

But after returning to the dormitory last night, Delaine contacted him and talked about the vampire Gall, then asked about Vid's recent schedule, so Vid casually mentioned the tutoring sessions.

In the end, just when he was preparing to sleep, he received Grindelwald's communication.

"Delaine told me," Grindelwald said directly, "Vid, I heard you're planning to start a... magic spell tutoring class at school?"

Vid frowned; he disliked others constantly meddling in his life, especially with Grindelwald's assertive demeanor.

But considering the magic spells Grindelwald taught him and the Witch Pure Party's help, Vid calmed down again.

"Yes, that's the plan," he explained patiently. "It's not much trouble for me, at most taking three or four hours a week. I can also set strict rules so those who can't handle it will naturally leave."

A soft laugh came from the other side of the communication pea.

"Vid, your time is precious, so every action should have a clear purpose... What do you hope to gain from this tutoring?" Grindelwald asked calmly.
