(KRYSTAL'S POV)
By the time Angelo and I get back from the bank, the strange tension sitting in my chest still hasn't fully gone away.
If anything it feels worse now.
I try to ignore it.
Try to tell myself it was nothing.
That I'm just overthinking. That going back for the flash drive dragged up old nerves and that was all. But even after stepping back inside the mansion, even after hearing the front door shut behind us, even after the familiar quiet of the house settled around me again, something still feels wrong.
Not loud. Not obvious.
Just there.
Like something I can't see followed me home and is standing somewhere behind me, breathing down my neck.
Maybe Raffaele senses it, because the second Angelo and I walk into the living room, he looks up from the couch and says, "I picked out a movie for us."
I blink at him. "A movie?"
He nods once, stretched out like he's been waiting for that exact moment to say it. "Yeah. Thought the three of us could watch something nice."
