(KRYSTAL'S POV)
The second Angelo and I step into Empire Trust Bank, I feel it.
That strange tightness in my chest from outside doesn't go away.
If anything it gets worse.
The ground floor is busy, filled with people moving from one counter to the next, quiet conversations blending with the soft tapping of shoes against polished floors. Everything about the bank looks normal.
But I still can't shake this uneasy feeling crawling under my skin.
I turn to Angelo and gesture toward the waiting area. "You can take a seat over there. I won't be too long."
He glances toward the row of chairs, then back at me and nods once. "Alright."
He heads over and sits down, crossing one leg over the other as he pulls out his phone.
I watch him for a second, then turn and make my way to the reception desk.
The woman behind it glances up from her computer the second I approach. "Good morning. How may I help you?"
I lean forward slightly and lower my voice.
