After the promised battle with Hawkeye, Victor decided to rest for a few days on Daughter Island.
After the battle, Hawkeye Mihawk and Princess Mononoke Perona returned to Kraikana Island. Before officially boarding the ship, Hawkeye had to complete the training of Roronoa Zoro, fulfilling the promise he made to Zoro.
Meanwhile, Pluto Rayleigh also returned to the island to continue training Luffy.
Although the navy had failed in its war against Daughter Island this time, if Victor, Hancock, and the others had not returned in time, the island would certainly have been unable to withstand Akainu's fleet.
Thus, improving the overall combat power of Daughter Island became a top priority. Once Victor and the crew went to the New World, the island could again come under attack, and support would not arrive in time.
The citizens of Daughter Island shared this concern. Many important officials, including Grandma New and the Emperor's sister Sanda Sonya, advised Pirate Empress Hancock and Victor not to go to sea recklessly.
"Isn't it nice to live happily on Daughter Island?"
Of course, most of these warnings disappeared once Victor and Enel set up a lightning shield over a 50-mile sea area around the island.
The thunder shield's advantages even surprised Victor. The shield acted as a massive protective barrier, reminiscent of Doflamingo's birdcage—but far superior in defensive performance. The shield's current reached 200 million volts, enough to instantly obliterate a top naval warship.
If Daughter Island had been protected by a mine shield earlier, the naval fleet wouldn't have even approached the port.
Beyond the thunder shield, Victor had taught the Six Styles of the Navy to Hancock while at sea. Hancock would now train the Nine Snakes Pirates in these techniques, who would then be responsible for teaching all citizens. Naturally, the women of the Nine Snakes Clan, as born warriors, were perfectly suited for this training.
By the time this was complete, Daughter Island would not only have a strong defensive line, but the citizens' combat capabilities would also become first-class—ensuring the World Government and the Navy would not easily dare another attack.
Victor knew very well, however, that the World Government's real target was not Daughter Island at all. Any attack on the Calm Belt island was merely a pretext to eliminate Victor and Hancock in one fell swoop.
The reasons were simple:
Kill the Celestial Dragons.
Bomb Mary Geoise.
Even so, Victor strengthened the island's defenses to travel to the New World with confidence.
Red Earth Continent, Holy Land Mary Geoise.
"I was planning to let you go, but the matter of pirate Victor is troublesome. His crimes are unforgivable. This time, CP0 will fully cooperate. As long as there's a chance, we will bring back Victor's head!"
"Justice is not just the Navy's concern. We know you have your own sense of justice, but Victor is destined to become a great threat to the world. The government needs your full effort."
Two of the Five Elders, the power center of the World Government, spoke to the tall man in the windbreaker before them.
"Victor? I heard Sakaski was caught by him again? That's… relaxing."
The tall man in a windbreaker and sunglasses smiled lazily. He no longer belonged to the World Government and couldn't care less about the mission.
"I see."
He left Mary Geoise without further words.
"Will he cooperate with CP0 to deal with Victor?"
"His sense of justice differs from Sakaski's, but probably…"
Daughter Island, Port.
"Master Victor, please take care of yourself!"
"Master Victor, please come back soon!"
"Master Victor, we love you!"
The harbor was crowded with female warriors of the Nine Snakes Clan, all shouting Victor's name. After this battle to defend the island, Victor had become a hero in the hearts of the citizens.
"Shut up, everyone!"
Pirate Queen Hancock's peerless face was filled with anger. She had decided to enact an iron rule: the women could not call Victor's name so intimately.
"My dear husband, please come back soon. Remember to miss me, because I will miss you all the time~"
Hancock became shy again, gently touching her two slender fingers together, her deep blue eyes full of emotion.
Because the kingdom had important affairs and all citizens needed to train in the Six Styles of the Navy, Grandma New insisted Hancock stay behind for a while. Victor, meanwhile, would take Enel out to sea first.
"Don't worry! I'll be back soon to pick you up!"
Victor smiled warmly, brushing Hancock's soft hair and taking in her fragrance before setting sail with Enel.
On the sea, a domineering medium-sized pirate ship sailed forward.
The pirate flag of the crew was hoisted high, bearing the number seven embroidered above two crossed lightning bolts.
This was the Seven Gods Pirate Ship that Victor had acquired on Sky Island.
Though not as luxurious as the Titanic X, the ship had all essential facilities, powered by both sails and electricity. With Victor and Enel aboard, it could burst forward at incredible speed, and even short-term flight was possible.
"Hey! Enel, calm down, okay? You're already halfway there!"
Victor watched as Enel angrily electrocuted a newsbird with his lightning. In fact, the bird had been continuously electrocuted all day.
A day earlier, the newsbird had sold a newspaper and four bounty posters to Victor and his crew for 1,000 Baileys.
The newspaper announced that Victor had formed a pirate crew and was an enemy of justice—but omitted the Navy's defeat.
The bounty posters, however, enraged Enel:
Seven Gods Pirates, Thunderbolt Enel, bounty: 800 million berries!
