7:30 PM.
Bathed in the warm orange glow of the lights, the Washington Monument looked very inviting at night. Many tourists posed in various ways for photos in front of the monument.
The interior featured fifty flights of stairs and high-speed elevators, allowing visitors to see the entire city of Washington through the windows once they reached the top.
Normally, from the last week of May to the first week of September, the interior stayed open until 10 PM. However, today the monument's interior was suddenly closed.
"Mommy, are we not allowed to go in?" Holding her mother's hand, the little girl looked ahead at the many uncles and aunties who were preparing to enter but were being turned away.
She looked up with disappointment.
Seeing the disappointment in her daughter's eyes, the young mother smiled, squatted down, and tucked her daughter's wind-blown hair behind her ear.
"Yes, Little Peanut, there might be a problem inside the monument, and the repair uncles are working."
"But I wanted to go in today and take pictures of the beautiful night view for Daddy in prison."
Listening to her daughter, the mother smiled, hugged her, and comforted her.
"Actually, Daddy would rather see Little Peanut's cute smile. Look how beautiful the monument's lights are. Come on, Mommy will take some beautiful and cute pictures of you for Daddy, okay?"
"Mmm-hmm!" Hearing her mother's words, the little girl immediately left her embrace. With the monument as a backdrop, she struck one cute pose after another.
Inside the closed monument, Samuel Stern and the black-robed sorcerer took the elevator all the way down.
Through a perpetually locked iron door, they arrived at the underground interior space.
The vast area was brightly lit, preventing any feeling of oppression even though they were beneath the surface.
Raising his hand, Samuel Stern used his palm print to unlock the last heavy iron door. It revealed a huge underground room filled with transparent cages.
"These are all the results of my secret research into gamma rays over the years."
Looking at the miniature Hulks inside the cages, Samuel Stern's expression was full of pride.
There was no trace of the weak, vomiting-blood, near-death man he once was. His spirited state seemed even more energetic than that of a strong young man.
The black-robed sorcerer looked at the Hulks, who lacked intelligence and moved only on primal instincts, then shook his head.
"Perhaps there are many, but Samuel, this is not enough to hold back the Avengers."
"Of course I know these miniature Hulks are no match for the Avengers." Samuel Stern took out a small bottle containing a mixture of red and green liquids.
"Originally, I planned to use this on General Ross. After all, he's always been coveting the position of Secretary of State. But it looks like I'll be the first to use it now.
With the energy you injected into me and this thing, I can at least hold back the Flash for a while. During this time, you can do whatever you want, but don't forget what you promised me!"
The black-robed sorcerer nodded. "Don't worry, no one can touch the Secretary of State himself, and this matter will not involve him.
But I suggest you hurry, because the Avengers' fighter jets have already reached the skies above Washington!"
Listening to him, Samuel Stern unscrewed the bottle.
Just as he brought it to his mouth, he suddenly asked, "This is our last collaboration, so aren't you going to let me see your true appearance?"
The black-robed sorcerer hesitated for a few seconds, then gently waved his hand. The black mist shrouding his face gradually dissipated.
"My God…" Upon seeing the sorcerer's true appearance, Samuel Stern exclaimed in surprise. "Although I don't know who you are, your face…"
"This is a 'gift' left to me by a group of madmen." Touching the decayed parts of his face, the black-robed sorcerer once again shrouded his cheeks with black mist.
Samuel Stern nodded, then picked up the bottle and drank the liquid inside. The red and green mixture flowed down his throat.
The next second, he immediately knelt on the ground in pain. His muscles bulged continuously, his clothes ripped apart, and his massive fists pounded the ground as he emitted painful roars.
The previously calm Hulks in the transparent cages heard his roars and also clenched their fists, roaring in response.
For a moment, the entire vast underground room was filled with countless roars.
Seeing this, the black-robed sorcerer took a step back. The black mist once again enveloped his face.
A Wand of Watoomb had appeared in his hand at some point. With a gentle wave, the transparent cages instantly opened.
On the ground above, Cassie's mother smiled softly.
"So cute…" She continuously took photos as her daughter struck various cute poses.
"Roar!"
Just as she was about to ask Cassie to turn in another direction, an extremely angry roar penetrated the ground.
Both mother and daughter were startled. Before they could react, successive roars continued to emerge from beneath the surface.
"Cassie, come here!" The young mother immediately ran to her daughter, picked her up, and prepared to leave quickly.
But the next second, the grass in front of them collapsed with a rumble, forming a huge sinkhole.
She tightly hugged Cassie, comforting her not to be afraid, while continuously backing away.
Soon, a green, muscular figure like a miniature Hulk leaped out of the sinkhole. The surrounding crowd screamed. Cassie's mother hugged her daughter and ran for their lives.
"Roar!!!"
Accompanied by angry roars, more and more Hulks leaped out of the sinkhole. The scene turned chaotic.
In the night sky, the Quinjet arrived at the Washington Monument.
Hundreds of Hulks were fiercely battling the National Guard in the plaza. Facing the irrational and numerous Hulks, the National Guard suffered extremely heavy casualties.
Natasha activated the Quinjet's weapon system and fired bullets at the Hulks.
"Everyone, the National Guard won't last much longer! And there are many civilians around. We need to find a way to save people first!"
At the battle scene, Cassie's mother held her daughter tightly and ran in terror. A Hulk landed right in front of them, clenching its fists and roaring furiously.
Startled, Cassie's mother stumbled and fell to the ground.
Her expression turned terrified as the enraged creature raised its fist to smash down toward them. She instinctively bent over, desperately shielding her daughter beneath her.
At the critical moment, Kai instantly appeared in front of the mother and daughter. Armament Haki wrapped around his arm as he threw a heavy punch at the Hulk's thick arm.
"Crack…"
The sound of bones breaking rang out. The Hulk's thick arm instantly shattered into countless pieces.
Under intense pain, the mindless Hulk let out a series of painful roars, its eyes filled with fear as it looked at Kai.
Seeing the terrified Hulk trying to escape, Kai raised his foot and kicked it heavily, sending it flying.
The dazzling light from his fingertips mercilessly pierced through the Hulk's head in mid-air.
After dealing with it, Kai turned around and looked at Cassie's mother, who was still firmly shielding her daughter. He leaned down and gently patted her shoulder.
"Ah!!!" Feeling the pat, Cassie's mother screamed in terror.
Cassie, however, covered her ears and said to her mother, "Mommy, it's the Flash from TV. He's here to save us…"
Looking at the little girl who showed no fear and instead blinked her bright, sparkling eyes at him, Kai squatted down, rubbed her head, and smiled.
"What's your name?"
"Cassie. Daddy and Mommy both call me Little Peanut."
Looking at the adorable Cassie, Kai glanced at her mother, who had come back to her senses, then smiled at the girl.
"Little Peanut, right? Your mommy is scared right now, so you need to protect your mommy, okay?"
"Mmm-hmm!" Cassie immediately clenched her fists and nodded. "I'll protect Mommy!"
"Good girl!" Rubbing Cassie's head, Kai activated the Reality Stone and instantly shortened the distance between the Washington Monument and the bridge opposite.
"Hurry and leave here!"
Cassie's mother held her daughter and repeatedly thanked him.
Kai pointed forward, signaling her to leave. Turning around, he looked at the hundreds of miniature Hulks ahead and instantly rushed forward.
"Go this way. Hurry and leave here." Steve Rogers held his shield while he and Falcon Sam continuously evacuated civilians.
When a Hulk charged at him, Steve met it without hesitation.
"Bang!"
Blocking the punch with his shield, Steve spun and delivered a side kick, sending the Hulk back two meters.
The Hulk roared furiously, slammed its fists on the ground, leaped high, and smashed down toward him.
Steve rolled to evade, then charged forward again with his shield.
"Da da da…"
Natasha piloted the Quinjet and provided aerial fire support, raining bullets on the Hulks.
When several leaped up to grab the jet, she unleashed miniature missiles and blew them apart.
"Rhodes, coordinate fire with me from the air. We need to confine the battle to the Monument Plaza. We absolutely cannot let them escape or it will cause more casualties!"
Rhodes flew around the plaza in his armor, releasing bombs from his shoulders to force the escaping Hulks back.
Wanda unleashed her Scarlet magic, dragging a Hulk into the air and tearing it apart. She forced herself to endure the discomfort as her magic continuously struck down the charging Hulks.
Pietro, the fastest on the team besides Kai, weaved through the plaza, bringing injured civilians to safety and occasionally rescuing people from the Hulks' grasp.
In the very center of the plaza, dozens of Hulks roared and charged at Kai. He chuckled and fearlessly met them.
"Oh my, so many of them?" Stepping on a dazzling flash of light, Kai kicked heavily into the chest of the leading Hulk.
The sound of breaking ribs echoed as the Hulk collapsed powerlessly.
"You need to be careful…" Transforming into light particles, Kai swiftly moved through the Hulks.
Each dazzling flash from his fingertips pierced their heads. Feeling a punch from behind, he kicked back with a crunch, sending the ambushing Hulk flying.
"Ah, you fake Hulks, each of you is like a monster, so scary! Bang! Speed is weight. Have you monsters ever been kicked by speed of light?"
With one kick, a dazzling flash of light instantly enveloped the numerous Hulks ahead.
"Rumble!"
Accompanied by an explosion, the enveloped Hulks were blown to smithereens. The remaining Hulks retreated, their eyes filled with fear as they looked at Kai.
"Ah, are you already preparing to run away?" Flying into the air, Kai crossed his hands in front of his shoulders as dazzling light particles emerged.
"Yasakani no Magatama!"
With his soft shout, countless light particles attacked the group of Hulks. The dazzling explosion almost illuminated the entire Monument Plaza.
When the smoke cleared, the ground was covered with corpses and severed limbs of Hulks. Kai stood in the air and chuckled.
"Ah, it seems I overdid it a bit."

Kai nodded in satisfaction at the system prompt.
After dealing with the large number of Hulks, he flashed over to Wanda and pierced the heads of the remaining attackers with light from his fingertips.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine." Wanda shook her head with a smile. "You go help the others. Leave this to me!"
"Alright, be careful." Ruffling Wanda's beautiful hair, Kai instantly rushed to the other battlefields.
"Crunch!"
After slaying the Hulks attacking Steve Rogers, Kai smiled at him, "Special bullets can penetrate their bodies. Didn't you bring a weapon?"
"I know, but some things are better than bullets!" Steve threw several electromagnets at the charging Hulks.
The next second, they formed a strong electric net that bound the creatures. Strong currents surged through them, charring their exteriors until they lost combat effectiveness and fell.
Kai shrugged and continued supporting the other Avengers with his speed. With his help, the pressure on the team greatly decreased.
Under the heavy night, Kai's dazzling flashes continuously appeared, and almost every time he showed up, a Hulk was slain.
At that moment, the military led by General Ross arrived from afar. Natasha informed the team after receiving the notification.
"Everyone, I just received a notification from General Ross. He requests us to immediately leave the plaza and prepare for indiscriminate firepower coverage here!"
Kai casually dealt with a Hulk and smiled. "Are we retreating already? I haven't had enough!"
"No choice, Kai. Compared to us Avengers, General Ross's is the legitimate official organization!" Sam supported Steve and complained, "Damn it, why didn't they come earlier?"
"Because they intend to claim the bodies of these fake Hulks for themselves. This is an old tradition of the military!" Rhodes replied while flying in his armor.
Less than ten seconds later, armed helicopters flew in and fired shells at the remaining Hulks. Violent explosions engulfed the plaza in a sea of fire, illuminating the night sky.
Kai stepped forward and asked Steve, who was being supported by Sam, "Injured?"
"I'm fine!" Steve shook his head and smiled. "When I was saving someone just now, I was punched by a Hulk. It's just two broken ribs. I'll be fine after a few days of rest!"
Natasha landed the Quinjet, got off, and handed Steve an anesthetic. After injecting it, Steve breathed a long sigh of relief and asked, "Where's Tony?"
"Not sure!" Natasha spread her hands.
"Before leaving the Avengers Base, Tony said to let us come first and he would rush over after fixing Veronica."
She looked at the scattered limbs after the artillery fire and smiled. "It seems there's nothing for us to do here."
As the Avengers talked, General Ross walked over with soldiers.
He saluted them and said, "Avengers, thank you for your help, but the rest of the matters can be handled by our military. You can go back now!"
Steve started to speak, but Kai suddenly asked, "Are you sure you can handle this?"
Ross frowned. Before he could reply, a collapsing sound came from the center of the plaza.
A furious roar emerged from the pit as a three-meter-tall creature—half red and half green, covered in scales, with bony joints on its back—leaped out.
Fighter jets fired dense bullets at it, but the rounds barely scratched its skin. The monster roared, grabbed a fighter jet, dragged it down, and flung the burning wreckage at the others.
Sam exclaimed, "How come I feel this monster is even more terrifying than the Hulk?"
"You're not wrong. This monster, whether in speed or strength, is several times stronger than our missing Dr. Banner!" Kai said.
Tanks fired shells, but they caused no damage. The monster crushed the tank formations and smashed them around like toys.
Kai looked at the solemn General Ross, "Are you sure your military can deal with a monster like this?"
"Kai." Steve said, "It's up to you!"
"So troublesome…" Stretching his shoulders, Kai rushed toward the red-and-green monster with a flash.
At the same time, in a small town, Tony Stark gasped as Veronica turned into scattered fragments and the armor on his body was split by the black-robed mage.
"What exactly do you, a trickster, want to do? If you want to kill me, then go ahead. I won't beg you for mercy!"
"Shhh." The black-robed mage made a shushing gesture.
"Come with me and you'll know!" He turned around, signaling Tony to follow.
"A reminder, the entire town has been shielded by my magic, so you can't escape, and electronic devices are also useless."
Tony frowned but still followed. Walking through the town, he saw many people stumbling with their heads down and eyes completely white, as if their consciousness had been drawn away. Anger flashed in his eyes.
"What did you do to the innocent residents of this town?"
"They are not residents of the town. They are all death row inmates from various prisons. The real residents have already been relocated by me!" The black-robed mage opened the door of a house and motioned for Tony to enter.
Inside, the living room looked cozy with warm lighting and pleasant furniture, except for the black hexagram pattern in the middle that gave Tony a chill.
"You're not going to turn me into those unconscious monsters outside, are you?!"
"Of course not. I'm just using their souls as keys to open the shackles of the dimension." The black-robed mage turned around. The black mist on his face gradually disappeared.
When Tony saw his true face, he gasped. "Damn it, how are you different from those monsters? Wait… I think I've seen you in a magazine somewhere."
"Of course you have. My name is Stephen Strange. I was originally a very excellent neurosurgeon." Strange motioned for Tony to sit on the sofa that had moved beside him, then made a beer glass appear.
"Want a drink? This might be the last beer you drink in this world. Don't worry, there's no poison in it."
Strange interrupted Tony's question. "I'm not the Strange from your world, but another Stephen Strange from the Multiverse.
The me in your universe hasn't experienced that car accident yet, nor has he come into contact with mystic magic."
"Multiverse?" Tony frowned. "You're from the Multiverse?"
"Yes, but my universe has already been destroyed!" Strange looked at the time and continued his tragic story.
He explained the collision of universes, the losing side, the deal with Death, and how he gained the ability to travel between worlds at the cost of his decaying face.
"This is the second universe I've arrived in, but I can't accomplish this alone, so I need help! Tony, you are my helper!"
Strange stood up. "I know you're stalling for time, thinking that the Flash will come to save you. But now, he should be held up as well.
By the way, the Flash in this world is really amazing, even possessing two Infinity Stones. Unfortunately, in my universe, there were no powerful teammates like the Flash."
Back at the Washington Monument Plaza, Kai was about to deliver a fatal blow to the heavily scarred monster when it roared furiously and swelled rapidly.
It even pulled out a bone sword from its skeletal joints.
"Flash. You've completely enraged me…"
Kai didn't waste words. He clasped his hands together and materialized the Kusanagi Sword.
"Are you just getting enraged? It seems your anger threshold is quite high."
The dazzling Kusanagi Sword clashed with the bone sword. In moments, the monster's body was covered in wounds.
"Speed is weight!"
Kai's right foot, stepping on light, caved in the monster's chest. Countless photons blasted from his palm, causing an earth-shattering explosion.
Transforming into light particles, Kai rushed forward and slashed down with the Kusanagi Sword.
"Crack…"
The bone sword shattered. Standing behind the monster, Kai didn't even look back as the Kusanagi Sword disappeared. The monster fell with a thud, its head rolling to the side.
"Pulling a bone sword from its body, I thought it was strong. Is that all?" Ignoring the corpse, Kai stepped toward the Avengers.
He put his arm around Wanda and smiled at Natasha. "Where's Tony? The battle's over, this guy's late!"
Natasha shook her head, "Can't contact him, but Jarvis just sent me a video."
In the playback, Tony in Veronica was flying toward them when a portal appeared and he disappeared without warning.
"According to Jarvis, the moment Tony disappeared, it activated his private satellite to search for him, but it didn't find anything!"
"Ugh, so troublesome. I told him he should have come with us!" Kai looked at everyone. "You all handle the rest of the matters first. I'll go find Tony!"
"You know Tony's whereabouts? I'll go with you!" Steve said.
Kai shook his head. "If I'm not mistaken, Tony should have been taken to Westview by that black-robed mage. Nick Fury mentioned the anomaly in Westview to me. Never mind, I'll go check first. You all come over after you've dealt with this matter!"
With that, Kai disappeared from sight.
Westview was enveloped by invisible magic. S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel were stationed at the edge conducting research.
When they saw Kai, they reported to Hill. She stepped forward. "Kai, why are you here?"
"Tony was taken. He should be inside Westview." Kai activated the Reality Stone on his ring to break through the magic barrier.
Inside Stephen Strange's house, Tony watched the black hexagram flicker. "Damn it, what exactly do you want to do?" His body uncontrollably walked toward Strange.
"Time's almost up. The Dimensional Gate is about to open. Honestly, Tony, I really admire you, but I'm sorry. I need a companion's help to fulfill the World-for-World agreement!" Strange struck Tony's chest with his palm, knocking his soul out of his body.
"Shit!!!" Tony's soul floated in the air and blurted out the curse as he watched his body fall.
He tried to rush back, but the hexagram's light swallowed his soul and teleported it to another dimension.
Seeing this, Strange was about to summon a soul from his own world when a powerful beam of light destroyed the building and attacked him.
"Damn it, Samuel Stern that good-for-nothing!"
Strange quickly constructed a defense with the Wand of Watoomb, but cracks appeared.
The energy of the Dimensional Gate dissipated. Glancing unwillingly at the rushing Kai, Strange abandoned Tony's body, opened a teleportation array with dark energy, and disappeared.
Ignoring the fleeing sorcerer, Kai instantly appeared in front of Tony Stark. Looking at Tony's closed eyes but normal breathing and body temperature, Kai breathed a sigh of relief.
"I thought you were dead. If you were dead, I could tell Pepper I needed a raise!"
He used the Mind Stone to wake Tony up, planning to make him double his bonus for the month.
But even after releasing the Mind Stone's energy, Tony did not wake up. Kai's expression immediately became serious.
