Adonis woke up to hear the noise of people talking all around, voices of people he was expecting. He removed his blanket and looked at the floor to see Iris still lying on the ground. He got up from the bed, walking to Iris he picked the broken wand and walked out of the room, heading to the kitchen.
"My son there you are" Grandma Brown said as she walked to him and cupped his cheek.
"He's grown more tall" Grandpa Brown said with little Carnatia in his hands.
"Morning Grannies, how was your trip" he said to the Browns before facing Carnatia "who clocks seven today" he sang.
"Meeee!!!"- Carnatia said as she raised her hands in excitement.
"Where's Uncle Kingston and Aunt Milli" Adonis asked.
"They're outside, along with Ryle and Kyle" Saphire said using the Frying pan to point out the door.
"Okay" Adonis said before remembering something "Mom" he called.
"Yes" saphire said raising her head to face him.
"Can you help me fix a broken wand" he said as he showed her Iris's broken wand "It was an accident"
And where is iris?" she asked
"He's asleep ... well it wasn't his fault. It was mine" She sighed in disbelief "give it to grandpa"
Adonis gave the broken wand to grandpa brown before heading back to his room.
In his room he found iris awake and already bathed
"Morning" he said to Iris.
Iris stared and scoffed "Morning." He grumbled
"By the way, mom is helping to repair your ward and the browns are here" Iris's eyes dilates in excitement "really!!?" he jumps on Adonis to hug him "You're the best cousin ever"
After Adonis took his bath and Changed his cloth, they had breakfast, talked with the browns and after which everyone started to prepare for the birthday dinner party.
Around 4:30pm, Adonis and Iris in the room lying opposite directions on the bed with their faces to the ceiling.
"Adonis"
"Iris"
"Adonis"
"Iris"
"Ad..."
Adonis cuts in "What do you want?"
"I'm bored"
"And what should we do?"
'Wanna go somewhere?"
"I don't think I wa..."
Iris cuts in - what present did you get Carnatia?"
"Present?"-Adonis smacked his face gently. A smack of disappointment "I totally forgot, did you get her some thing?"
"Yes I did"
"Can I see ?"
"Nope you can't ... But I can help you go get a gift. Let's just go out."
" Get straight to the point don't lurk beneath getting Carnatia a gift ... Where's the place?"
" Okay, you know me too well" iris raised his hands in defeat before staring intently into Adonis's eyes " let's go to the evermore palace" he blurted so fast, he couldn't hear himself.
" You're kidding right?" Adonis asked with a raised eyebrow but iris doesn't change his expression " we'll be quick"
" I don't know" Adonis said apathetically
" And we'll get Carnatia the best gift ever" iris sang as he took a broom from the broom stand and flew out the window " I'm waiting" he called to his cousin.
" Okay" Adonis declared after which he took a broom and a backpack and out the window he flew.
The two boys raced in primerea's sky before they got to a souvenir store.
" Who knew picking a gift for a six year old girl could be this hard" iris said in frustration after an endless search.
" Seven. She's seven" Adonis corrected before he caught gaze of a blue bangle, whose beads were shaped like moon crescents. He walked to it, and took it in his palms. Soon after the object began to glow, just like Carnatia he thought.
" I've found the right gift" he said.
They packed the gift in Adonis's backpack before continuing their journey to the evermore palace. They raced in it's sky and between it's tall walls, across it's halls they played, and in it's evergreen garden they sprinted like one at the brink of freedom.
The abandoned palace was now a work of art and as they played carefreely, Adonis tripped over something and Iris ran to him.
" Are you okay?" He asked, giving his cousin a hand.
" Yeah, I'm fine" Adonis said as he held iris hand before letting him to drag him up.
"What was that?"
" I tripped over something " Adonis said as he fully stood on his feet. They both looked at what Adonis had tripped on. It was a book with brown old leather cover and on it was written a language they were yet to understand.
Adonis was about to touch it when iris slapped his hand away
" You okay" he asked sarcastically " what if that was enchanted, you wanna get stuck here wanting our parents to help us."
" Ohhh!, I didn't think that through"
" And besides it's getting late. Let's head home Adonis" iris said as he turned away after which Adonis followed, they took their broom and in the sky, they raced home.
Half way home, Adonis realised his backpack was missing " iris" he called " I forgot something"
Iris stopped in thin air " your backpack" he asked instinctively.
" Yeah"
' well let's go get it."
" We can't go together, it's getting late"
Iris queried as he wasn't convinced " and that is why we must go together."
" You don't understand, you have to get home and cover for me before the dinner party happens. I'll be back before you blink an eye " Adonis turned back and flew to the palace before iris could even argue.
He got to the garden and went straight for his backpack, as soon as he saw it, he took it and turned to head home when something called him. He didn't know what it was but listening to his instincts he decided to follow.
He was back where he had slipped and fall, the book was still lying on the grass but the words there were ... They've changed. He remembered it being a language he didn't understand but know all he could see were TO THY WIZARD WHO WISELY WANDERS. It was written boldly in a cursive handwriting on the brown thick leather cover. It glistened like golden water as the setting sun reflected on it, captivating all of the boy's attention.
Curiosity got the best of him and he decided to touch the cover. His hand began to dance on the golden words and as soon as he began to read them out loud his hand began to sink into the book. He panicked, using his other hand to pull the former but it continued to sink, all his efforts yeilding null and void. Soon it sank to an arms length and that was when he felt something rod like, he had reached the bottom and without thinking twice he gripped unto the object. With great force and determination he pulled out to reveal his arm weilding an ancient wand.
