The New Frontier refers to unexplored, recently discovered, or unmanaged lands both on and around the known continent.
These regions exist outside the jurisdiction of established:
Communities (cities, towns, villages)
Governors
The Council
Knight and Adventurer Guilds
They are considered dangerous, high-mana zones where magical phenomena are amplified.
Key Characteristics:
Areas are largely unmapped or only partially documented.
Explorers often traverse the frontier "blind" due to lack of knowledge.
High Mana Concentration
Ambient mana flows are stronger than in civilian populated areas.
Supports the growth and evolution of magical beasts.
Facilitates the formation of dungeons and other mystical anomalies.
Danger Zones on the Known Continent
Certain regions of the known continent itself, far from communities, are considered part of the New Frontier.
These areas have extremely high mana levels, making them dangerous for civilians.
Knights patrol and observe these borders to prevent civilian incursion.
Islands of the New Frontier:
Surround the known continent, varying in size and habitability.
Many islands remain completely unexplored.
Adventurers may encounter unknown creatures, including magical beasts never before encountered or monsters.
