A piercing cry echoed across the lands.
Following its wake was a seal of flames as everything and everyone started to spontaneously combust.
Everything happened too fast.
Before Thomas knew it, he was already in the sand, rolling around recklessly in hopes of putting out the fire.
However, as lucky as he was to be near a park, he was also equally unlucky as the grains of sand also caught fire.
Nothing was spared.
The feeling of being burned alive along with being pierced by shards of glass was the worst kind of pain he had ever felt in his entire life.
'It hurts! It hurts!'
'Let me die!!'
He screamed out in pain and anguish, however, the ever hungry flame devoured his words as well, making them fall on deaf ears.
As he continued to showered in endless excruciating pain, his mind soon weakened as it started to be blanketed by thick hazy mist.
And then, his body stopped moving, his never ending screams died down as he eventually lost consciousness.
He died. He died a most painful death.
Or so he thought.
