Chapter 333 - Chapter 333: Tang Yuehua

Chapter 333: Tang Yuehua

Tang San's expression became quite strange. He vaguely remembered that in the forest outside the City of Slaughter, Hu Liena had also jokingly suggested that he could try growing flowers or learning music to control the God of Killing domain. He hadn't expected that his teacher would offer the same advice. Now, he was wondering whether he should try this seemingly absurd method.

After thinking it over, Tang San decided to give it a try. After all, he didn't have a better solution at the moment.

"Then, should I start learning to grow flowers with Teacher Erlong?"

"Mm, let's do it this way. Learning to control emotions in any situation is the key. I'll think of other methods, but before that, you should learn some calming techniques from Teacher Erlong."

"I understand, teacher."

Over the next few days, Tang San lived a peaceful, pastoral life, learning to plant flowers and grow plants with Liu Erlong while also picking up some basic musical knowledge.

It must be said that their efforts, though unintentional, worked. After a few days, Tang San indeed felt that his control over his emotions had improved significantly. He could maintain his rationality within seconds after activating the God of Killing domain. Although this wasn't enough, Tang San wasn't in a hurry. Since he had found the right method, it was now a matter of time.

At Yu Xiaogang's suggestion, Tang San occasionally visited the flower and bird market in Tiandou City to look for new flower seeds, and when he saw a nice bird, he would buy it to raise.

One day, after practicing his voice in the morning, Tang San once again visited the flower and bird market and walked straight toward the store he often visited.

"Miss, look at this red-cheeked blue-winged sparrow, it's so cute. Let's buy it and take it home."

"You little girl, we came to the market today because we heard there were some strelitzia seeds in stock. How did you get distracted by birds?"

"Come on, miss, the bird won't stop us from buying flower seeds. Let's get it. See, this red-cheeked blue-winged sparrow has been staring at me. It definitely wants to come home with me."

Tang San was drawn to their conversation. Looking over, he saw a woman in a silver palace dress, exuding noble elegance with every movement, looking helplessly at her charming maid.

The woman's obvious noble background made Tang San frown. Due to his unpleasant experience at Tiandou Royal Academy, he didn't have much fondness for nobility. Though he didn't know why he felt a sense of affinity for the palace-dressed woman with blue hair, he decided not to approach her. Her appearance surely didn't lack admirers, and he didn't want to be mistaken for one of those people.

He withdrew his gaze and continued toward the flower seed shop he frequented.

"Boss, do you have any new flower seeds today?"

"Young master, you're here again. How lucky! We just received a batch of strelitzia seeds today. The strelitzia flowers look like colorful little birds and are very popular with the nobility of Tiandou. Would you like to buy some?"

Although Tang San wasn't interested in mingling with the Tiandou nobility, his purpose was merely to buy flower seeds to help calm his emotions and control his feelings. Since there were new flower seeds, he had no reason to refuse.

"Alright, give me the seeds."

Tang San handed over several gold soul coins to the shopkeeper and began looking around at the plants and flowers in the shop, something he always did whenever he visited. Sometimes, he would even ask the shopkeeper for planting tips.

"Thank you, young master. Please wait here for a moment, I'll get them for you right away."

Moments later, the shopkeeper returned with a bag of seeds. Just as Tang San reached out to take them, a pair of master and servant entered the shop. The woman in the palace dress, whom Tang San had seen earlier, was at the head of the pair.

The maid was carrying a birdcage with a blue bird flapping its wings inside, clearly fulfilling the maid's wish.

"Boss, I heard you received a batch of strelitzia seeds today. Can we have some?"

The shopkeeper looked embarrassed and pointed to Tang San, saying:

"Oh, two young ladies, I'm really sorry, the last of the seeds were bought by this young master here."

"You're probably aware that the strelitzia is highly sought after, right?"

The maid's expression immediately drooped, and she shyly glanced at the palace-dressed woman beside her. Her earlier excitement about getting the bird faded away.

"I'm sorry, miss."

"Alright, we'll come back next time. But next time, don't drag me here to buy birds."

Not scolded, the maid stuck out her tongue and then glared at Tang San, as if blaming him for preventing them from getting the flower seeds. Tang San felt helpless—was he really getting blamed for something he didn't even do?

Seeing this, the palace-dressed woman gave the maid a stern look, making her lower her head again. Then, the woman turned to Tang San, her gaze filled with three parts apology.

"I sincerely apologize, young master. My maid, Ping'er, is not very well-mannered. I will properly teach her when we get back. Please forgive us."

Regardless of whether the woman would truly scold her maid, her words made Tang San feel quite comfortable. Her natural grace seemed to make everyone like her, and Tang San couldn't help but feel good about her.

"No need to mind. If you don't mind, I can share some of these strelitzia seeds with you."

With that, Tang San opened the bag of seeds in his hand and offered some to the maid.

The maid's eyes brightened, and she quickly reached out to accept them, her gaze filled with gratitude.

"Thank you, young master. Please forgive Ping'er's earlier rudeness."

"That..."

The palace-dressed woman had intended to refuse, but seeing the maid had already accepted them, she helplessly rubbed her forehead, then turned back to Tang San and bowed slightly.

"Thank you for your generosity, young master. I am Tang Yuehua, the head of Yue Xuan. If you're interested in etiquette or music, feel free to visit me at Yue Xuan."

"That's quite a coincidence. We're from the same family. My surname is also Tang."

"Oh? That is indeed quite a coincidence."

Tang Yuehua was momentarily surprised. She hadn't expected this coincidence, but her lips instinctively curved into a polite yet distant smile. She seemed to have encountered a lot of peculiar ways of being approached. Tang San, however, didn't notice anything unusual and continued asking:

"May I ask, what exactly is Yue Xuan? I've just arrived in Tiandou City, and I'm not familiar with many places."

"Yue Xuan is a place that specializes in teaching noble etiquette, and they also teach music knowledge."

Before Tang Yuehua could speak, the maid beside her quickly explained, clearly showing some fondness for Tang San, who had eased her embarrassment.

"I see."

At this point, Tang San did have some interest in learning about music because, clearly, music could help cultivate one's character more than gardening or raising plants. It would also make it easier for him to control his negative emotions. While Liu Erlong knew some basic music theory, most of it was old melancholy songs, and as a grown man, it wasn't quite appropriate for him to sing those.

Seeing that Tang San didn't seem like one of those annoying people who tried to make advances and that he appeared to have some interest in music theory, Tang Yuehua slightly parted her red lips.

"Young master, if you have time, you could visit Yue Xuan. Perhaps it will suit you."

"Mm, thank you for the invitation, Head Tang. I will visit when I have time."

After saying that, Tang San didn't linger. He decided to go back and ask Master and the others about Yue Xuan before making a decision.
