Chapter 161: A Temporarily Peaceful Life
Franklin didn't hesitate at all. He summoned the pill bottle containing the Bloodline Purification Pills, poured out two of them, sealed the fragrance with his spiritual energy, then tossed them directly to Gid.
"This pill can only be taken once a year. Keep one for experiments, and Father-in-law, you can take the other first to test its effects."
Seeing how generous Franklin was—implying there would be more in the future—Gid caught the pill with a faint smile.
"Good kid, you've got heart. I'll accept it. As for your friend offending me, I won't hold it against him.
And him dating one of my Deviluke Royal Guard members—I won't interfere with that either. Whether it works out is up to the two of them."
"Thank you for your generosity, Father-in-law. Krillin, hurry and thank His Majesty."
Hearing this, Krillin immediately bowed ninety degrees in excitement. "Thank you, Your Majesty. I'll definitely treat Momo well."
"Thank you, Your Majesty."
Seeing how flustered Krillin was, Franklin could only shake his head helplessly. "Treat Momo well. If you need anything, tell me."
"Thanks, Brother Franklin, I will."
"Momo, Nana, you two really plan to stay on Blue Star?"
The two figures who had been doing their utmost to hide themselves had no choice but to step quietly to the front once Gid spoke.
"Yes, Dad. We don't want to go back. The tutors you hired teach things that are way too complicated and fussy. They're completely useless."
"Yeah, learning how to deal with people on Blue Star feels more useful. Besides, with Franklin around, we won't have to worry about the future affairs of Deviluke anyway."
As soon as they finished speaking, a tic-mark pulsed on Gid's forehead.
"Good grief—you two just casually handed the future throne to Franklin. Impressive.
You sided with him this morning, and now you're acting like he's guaranteed to be the next king of Deviluke. What are you two trying to pull!"
Realizing they had misspoken, the two girls immediately shrank behind Franklin, leaving him to face Gid's fury alone.
"Uh… well… Father-in-law, please calm down. They're only fourteen. They don't understand much yet.
Once they're older, they'll understand how hard it is to conquer a realm, and even harder to rule one. Right now, thanks to Mother-in-law stabilizing the major races of the galaxy, and thanks to you presiding over Deviluke and suppressing the entire galaxy, they get to live such peaceful lives.
After they go through more trials, they'll grow. And with me in the future, it won't be too late for them to learn once they understand how hard you've both worked."
Gid was both angry and helpless. After giving Franklin a long, deep look, he turned and walked away.
"For now, I won't meddle in the two of you. Everything is left to Franklin. But when your mother arrives, if you mess around and can't pass her tests, then that'll be your own fault."
Watching his back as he left, Momo and Nana wanted to say something, but in the end, the two remained silent.
Seeing this, Franklin smiled and comforted them. "Don't worry. Father-in-law isn't angry with you. He left because he agreed with what I said.
If you want to have fun for now, then go have fun. I haven't experienced it myself, but I've seen how much princes have to study.
And that's just ordinary princes on Blue Star. You two—Deviluke doesn't need absolute control of the galaxy, but you still have to manage it.
What you need to study isn't something Blue Star princes can compare to. Rest for a bit if you need to.
But you can't stop learning altogether. Even a little is necessary. Next Monday, I'll arrange for you to enroll with Ikaros.
Just treat it as experiencing Blue Star's school life. For the two of you, that should be easy."
Nana puffed her cheeks slightly, but eventually nodded.
"Fine, enrolling is good too. This way I can keep an eye on you, you beast, and stop you from causing trouble for more girls."
"Becoming classmates with Mr. Franklin doesn't sound bad either."
Seeing the two agree, Franklin finally let out a sigh of relief.
Hiratsuka Shizuka, who heard the news, had already gone numb. She genuinely no longer knew whether leaving the city she'd lived in for over twenty years to move somewhere new was a blessing or a curse.
Kotokawa Yui massaged her temples in pain. Just imagining their class gradually being filled with girls who liked Franklin—or possibly other aliens—made her feel intensely uncomfortable.
"Sir, do you have any other instructions? If not, I'll escort you back."
"I do, actually. Don't stop Raditz' ship when it takes off later. If you absolutely have to intercept it, make it look like you did but don't actually interfere."
"Don't worry, sir. His Majesty and I saw the whole thing from beginning to end. I'll fully cooperate with you."
"Then that's all. You can send us down now."
At that moment, the replaced Raditz touched the single Senzu Bean at his waist. Franklin, multitasking, was already planning how to execute his next move.
Frieza was too strong. To fight him normally, one needed to reach a power level in the millions and transform into a Super Saiyan. In the original story, Goku did defeat Frieza this way.
But as things stood, even though Goku had achieved Super Saiyan early, there was no way he could experience another near-death event jumping from ninety thousand to three million.
That simply defied reason. Judging from Raditz's near-death recovery experiment, near-death boosts definitely couldn't give a thirty-three-fold increase.
Learning Kaio-ken wasn't realistic either. You had to die, go to the afterlife, and rely on the Guardian's request to reach King Kai.
Under the current circumstances, Franklin couldn't risk dying, and letting Goku die was obviously impossible.
The only thing that could drastically increase his power was the Dimensional Heavenly Tome. Only something so far beyond comprehension could provide that kind of leap.
Pushing away his tangled thoughts, Franklin controlled Raditz to sit back in the spherical pod. Using the memories in Raditz's mind, Franklin set the pod's destination.
In the end, under Raditz's control, the next destination was set to a remote, nearly lifeless planet assigned by Vegeta.
When they met, it would be a battle to the death. Franklin would have to crush Vegeta decisively and instantly.
As the white light faded, Franklin and the others appeared in their backyard. Only now could Franklin take a deep breath.
"It's been such a busy day. I haven't had a moment's rest. You all go do your own thing for now. I'm going to lie down for a bit. Call me when dinner's ready. And, uh—Teacher Hiratsuka, Kotokawa,
if you want to stay for dinner, have Mikan cook a bit more. If not, it's up to you. I'm too tired to be polite right now."
