The men, who introduced themselves as Presidents Representatives, led Batman into a building.
"This room is completely shielded. I think even Homelander won't be able to hear what we're discussing."
After entering a spacious room, the Presidents Representative said to Batman, "At any rate, he shouldn't bother us now."
Seeing that Batman remained silent, the Presidents Representative could only continue, "Right now, Homelander is using his possibly enhanced soldiers, perhaps even genetically engineered ones, to continuously seize people's democracy and freedom through violence. They are also intervening in various wars and conflicts in countries surrounding the United States, attempting to establish and cultivate influence over all nations on Earth."
Batman listened to his statement, pondered for a moment, then asked, "Do you think ending slaughter and war is a bad thing?"
"Of course not. But things aren't that simple, are they?"
Batman nodded, "Indeed, it's not that simple. The causes of war are complex: religious reasons, territorial disputes, generational grudges. So, peace needs to be enforced, and someone must enforce it."
He seemed unconcerned by the official's words and continued, "I understand why you're here. You simply believe Homelander is about to take over the world, and I can help you stop him!"
"Yes, so will you agree to do it?"
The official looked at Batman with hopeful eyes, a nervous expression on his face.
"If it truly needs to be done, if things have come to this point, I will take him down."
Batman clenched his injured fist, "I came here to tell you that you need to do better!"
"Is that so?"
The Presidents Representative raised an eyebrow in surprise, "It seems you came prepared. Then why did you mistake me for someone else just now? You seemed quite startled when you saw me on the rooftop."
"No, my surprise at seeing you on the rooftop was merely an act. You've been through so many difficulties, I didn't want to upset you. Also, I can vote for your newly elected President."
Batman delivered a cold joke that stunned the Presidents Representative.
"Uh, thank you."
The Presidents Representative was taken aback, thinking, 'Can you even enter a polling station and shout, "I'm Batman, so everyone vote for this new President whose name no one has ever heard of"?'
After his cold joke, Batman continued, "But I can't do this alone. I need a team."
"I've already prepared for that."
The Presidents Representative handed Batman a document.
"What is this?"
"Some information about superheroes and other individuals. You can consider having them join your resistance. Their strengths, weaknesses, psychological evaluation reports, and most importantly, none of them have joined the Homelander Regime yet."
The Presidents Representative stood up and spoke to him with a serious tone.
"Hmm."
Batman nodded. He hadn't expected the other party to be so well-prepared.
"I didn't realize you weren't completely unprepared."
He looked at the text on the document. The first superhero described was Black Canary of Star City.
"Possible father-daughter conflict, possibly in contact with foreign powers."
Reading the information about Black Canary, Batman fell into contemplation.
"I also have files on these people."
Putting down the material, Batman said to the Presidents Representative.
"I know, but we can complement each other with information we don't know, and exchange notes."
The Presidents Representative sat in his chair, fingers intertwined, and said to Batman.
"Exchange?"
Batman put away the documents, nodded, and prepared to leave.
But after only two steps, he stopped, his gaze becoming solemn, and his hands slowly moved to his waist.
Before his hand could even touch the switch on his utility belt, he heard a sound from outside.
Click! Click! Click!
Accompanied by the sound that made his heart pound, Eric slowly emerged from the shadows outside the room.
"If I were you, I wouldn't touch any weapons or try any tricks."
Eric said to him.
The Presidents Representative in the room saw Eric, dressed in a black uniform, suddenly appear before him, and his mouth fell open in astonishment.
With a look of terror in his eyes, he took a step back, only to be struck on the shoulder by Eric's Heat Vision.
Blood instantly spurted out, and he collapsed backward.
Clutching his arm, which was almost severed by the Heat Vision, the Presidents Representative gritted his teeth, struggling backward on the ground, his whole body stained with blood.
"I never thought we'd meet again so soon, Batman."
